This might be the best expert item in Terraria... The Spore Sac. In this video, I take a look at this rather underrated Terraria expert mode accessory that might be one of the best expert exclusives in the whole game. Giving the player the chance to become the ultimate afk farming machine, firing out poisonous, homing mines around the player automatically all the time. Combined with chlorophyte armour, this can serious create a nasty combo to take on most of post-plantera with! Enjoy!

Damn I wish I knew about this item before I farmed for all the banners. R.I.P my wrist
Pain indeed
Do a video on the resonance staff, I had no clue it was an item until a week ago and I thought I was a die hard terraria player.
@@jajnuharium is that the princess drop?
what do you think about chlorophyte mele armor? By test, in crit build it has more dps than others melee armours, in 1.4.1 i done testing. What do you think about it in 1.4.4?
I wouldn't say this is the best drop, that honor going to the Worm Scarf, but that aside, this is one of the best drops indeed
It's overlooked due to being obtained so late, there are a lot of good accessories post plantera so the spore sac gets usually trashed
It also used to be really really bad prebuff so that reputation stuck
its so insanely good for the post plantera dungeon tho
I trash it
Another thing that I might be the one to notice is that it's similar to Deerclops' mask, but it's a pre-hardmode item which is kinda do its job better imo
@@AsPlayBoxYou mean the bone mask, and I’d say for the stage you get it which is late pre-hardmode it’s not that good considering it only does 30~ damage every hit
Thinking about it, it is actually fitting that you can AFK farm with a plant based equipment (the spore sac and chlorophyte armor are vegetal), because much like a plant, you don't have to move to do your job
@@Licitumss what
@@Licitumss that doesn’t make sense
Not to mention that there is a sorta pre-hardmode version the the accessory dropped by Deerclops!
very clunky that one though. like seriously. I wish they'd improve the ai even if it causes the damage to fall a bit. it misses zombies from when the last time I used it
My brain finally caught the second the in a message
It looks so fkn cool but the dmg is... 20 per hit and so slow they really need to buff it
@@JALAL919 right?? very underwhelming. in a way, almost useless. doesn't even function properly. but it is so damn cool not gonna lie😂. those dark purple aura claws are just 👌✨
Could be fun to use the Deerclops, Plant anf Queen Slime items together
This item is key for one of my favorite custom builds, the Anti-Summoner. I use the spore sac, the bone helm, the bone glove, and the passive gel thrower from Queen slime. Toss on some chloro armor, and you become the immoveable wall, the Anti-Summoner.
Noice
Or the stardust stand
Do you use Inferno potions, the bee cloak, or mounts like the Scutlix or Santank as well?
ah yes the """Pacifism""" build
I call it my "Builder Build" Minions block my placement and work, but I like to just keep the whole stack of "anti minions" and a single stardust cell, plus usually the nebula set so I don't have to worry about healing from the random scratch damage
The Spore Sac is amazing in the post-Plantera dungeon. It makes it so easy to farm enemies.
I use this almost every playthrough. It's really good in most situations, even some bosses, especially if you build actual arenas.
My friends absolutely love these, especially when they stay in the AFK farm I made for them
Hey Sock, you should review the Terragrim or the Arkhalis next! They are really cool weapons and I’d love to know what you think of both
he did the terragrim like a week ago
terrasteel also did a review on the terragrim
@@exquisicy5429 that was terrasteel
@@bobosaurus331 mb
Arkhalis is a weapon I wish was relevant for longer :(
Definitely one of the best accessories you can get from a boss. I always use this accessory whenever I'm building stuff in-game, it helps with dealing those pesky enemies spawning in
Finally someone is talking about this item. If you use one of your loadouts for strictly mining, this is a must have to keep yourself safe
it's not only good for AFK, but for setting up against a boss (although Golem does not need it). Generate some spores and after you start moving, switch the accesories. I am so glad any accesories can be stored on vanity again, as that was one of the worst removed features in 1.4 release.
I use it so much for like a fishing load out bc it does such a good job of keeping enemies away and you won't have to interrupt your fishing by switching to a weapon. And it allows you to be safe wearing the low-defense angler armor bc most of the enemies won't get to you.
This item is perfect for the stage of progression it’s found in, post plantera has the frost and pumpkin moon events with numerous grounded enemies, the dungeon with close quarters chokepoints tiles everywhere and background walls, and the temple which is the same but with a more linear enemy movement
i’ve actually never tried this accessory and had no idea what it actually did until now. I was gaslighted into thinking it sucked a long time ago and now i’m not happy. thanks for showing me the light
It is for sure There's some expert items that i really love to use but in the end i just can't use 😭 Like the Royal Gel Makes jungle exploration waaaaay easier And of course, getting stings is easier as well
i’ve used it in my most recent master mode playthrough for a good while, and i’ve found that the immunity frames enemies get from the spores interferes with your weapons’ i-frames, resulting in enemies taking less damage than expected
Also the golem accessory is often overlooked. It might be less versatile then other options during that stage of the game, but it is always useful to carry it in your inventory for fast heals without loosing extra potions when you are exploring
I think the big problem this thing has is it's lack of class synergy. That doesn't make it bad, it just explains why so many people over look it. People would rather increase their primary damage dealer than use passive damage.
I love how the fairy led to your own chest
I started a new expert mode playthrough this last week and have been using it since acquisition, great fun
I genuinely didn’t know that it homed onto targets after beating Plantera more than 30 times at this point and dropping over 6 The Axes… this is honestly a game changer 😂
@SansDeltarune probably but you have no idea how lucky I got
U can also use the megashark as an alternate to the Uzi (for ranged users). If you have the Unicorn Mount killing Plantera would be even easier as long as there's a wide tunnel you can run straight into while you're grinding Plantera's health in second phase. Works everytime.
I'm seeing some of this is actually really good, I've never used it before. I'm going to need to dummy test stuff more now
I did a run with the True Summoner class, you don't use minions or whips, but items that you invoke around you to protect you, spells and etc, like the Deerclops skull, This accessory from Plantera and Queen Slime. It was very difficult but the final build was pretty cool, it's fun but the defense is average and the damage is extremely low. It's worth it if you have enough sanity
I've always loved this accessory and any modded variant of it, interesting and fun to use
I think I have used it in all my playthroughs. I love this thing and happy to see it getting some love from you!
This is my personal favorite accessory so thank you for making a video on it
I've always loved this item, I never thought about it as being so good, but rather a nice niche assistor
As a avid player who tends to ignore weak enemies when building. Having a spore sac to provide a swarm of floating gas bombs watching your back is a must. That much needed buff was what it really kept it from being fully realised. Its utterly lethal and I love it. Oh and it poisons enemies too. Big plus
There's a Deerclops drop that does something similar but, does slightly less damage and no poison. You could also probably add this to an AFK setup pretty easily for some additional damage
I always use this thing when I do something like farming, fishing, or building. Absolutely love it.
Had a friend go afk the jungle in the middle of our badly made area (mobs still spammed rather commonly) with the spore sack. Was gone a good 20 minutes, came back to literal carnage around them and basically full health.
i was thinking about the spore sac being so good yesterday when i was using it while building
I mainly use the spore sac in tandem with a fishing setup or if I want to farm, since it kinda just kills crap around you, allowing you to focus on fishing, as well as squeeze every bit of value out of crate potions (since you don't need to divert your attention whatsoever to kill approaching enemies)
Always heard good things about it, but I've just always prioritized the usual emblem stacking dps build. Had no idea it could be _that_ good, def giving it a try next playthrough.
you should do what you did with plantera, explaining what weapons are good for her, but for every boss in a playthrough guide video
I've never used the accessory, might give it a try in my next run thanks to this video.
I always use the spore sack when I'm clearing space for an underground arena/farm, or when I'm just casually ore hunting
This thing is actually cracked it might seem like a bonus and not so much needed accessory but it actually handles enemies really well when I’m building and really did something against a corrupt mimic thank you for making a video on this
oh yeah i used this a lot, very helpful for farming and going to the dungeon or temple
Alot of people dont use chloraphyte armour because you often need to save your bars to craft turtle/shroomite/spectre armour, and it took me way to long to realise you can just shimmer your armour when its time to upgrade
I guess it's more of a farming item and less something that you would use if you somewhat rush through the game without much farming, yet I wanna try it out the next time since I did not knew it got better. I just realized it propably makes for an excellent temple run defense
Leaving homing mines behind seems awefully effective for a Ranger who's mostly trying to create distance between itself and it's targets. I think i'll give this one a shot when i tackle Expert Mode. You should be able to build an arena with background walls for pretty much every boss, right?
when i play terraria for the first time. i didn't know that Shield of Cthulhu or any expert drop was not available in classic (because i play classic mode in my first play through) and also i only know that Shield of Cthulhu is the only boss accessories that exist then.
The Post Plantera Dungeon, Jungle Temple and Fishing. Not my main accessory, but I still love it.
I always use this in pairs with my minion to farm cash. glad u cover It
I honestly love this accessorie and used it. I love it
i always use the spore sack in my summoner run since it just acts like another summon and makes afk even easier
I love using sentries to kill enemies beyond walls I haven't gone through yet and the radiant damage from spores makes it that much more effective
I've only seen much use of it in afk farms, preferring fitting movement and class based ones. Usually, boots, wings, shield/ninja set, celestial cuffs, mana cloak and celestial shell (replacing it later with soaring insignia)
I have underestimated this thing for years until my previous run of the game when I finally used it.
i LOVE the spore sack. i use it on every playthrough it’s ridiculously effective for crowd control and a must have item for farming. the only downside i can think of is that you can’t turn them off without taking the item off 🔥
I love this item! Chlorophyte armor, shiny stone, from expert golem and u got yourself a nice afk setup The nifty thing to complete this loadout is a summoner helm for Chlorophyte set! Hopefully by next update! Also more to summoner choices!😊
usually after plantera you don't have to farm something, since a lot of players just rush for pillar weapons. Most of farming is on the early hardmode, post plantera farming is maybe for biome keys or money, plus some enemies will not allow you to stand, summons just doing this more effective on that stage of game
I actually used the spore sac because I was doing a boss class challenge and I'll be honest I found plantera's class really fun
I use spore sack all the time the utility against golem is great, it makes cheesing sim pillars easier, and is overall a great option
I didn't know it homed in on the enemies, I thought they just stood there! Definitely gonna try out this accessory when getting on Terraria.
yeah, I love the spore sack it's amazing and great video sockrteez! :)
I’m so glad I saw this video I didn’t realized they buffed it I remember never using it because they spawned so slow
Finally, I feel like so many people sleep on this item The recent 1.4.4 buffs have been great for it too Though, pre-1.4.4 Spore Sac was also crazy good with Titanium Armor (before the set bonus was given a shard rate cap) when facetanking, especially because the projectiles use local s It is a REALLY good accessory to just have and makes things like AFKing (as Said in the video) and fishing a lot smoother, and is a great addition to events and Golem
1:25 I also suggest the venom staff as it's piercing and damage are good for plantera's second phase
I’m crafting that rn in my terraria world
The spore sack is a consistent addidtion to my AFK farm along with the blade staff and chlorophyte armour
I've always thought spore sac is great but this really put it in perspective for me, I'd argue shield of cthulhu is superior since that goes from like the first boss all the way to moon lord for me if I can't be bothered to farm master ninja gear but this is a pretty good expert drop.
I've never user the spore sac in my life I thought the spores didn't home onto enemies like the truffles weapon but I'm definitely going to try it now
Made a character like this currently in progress until reaching to Moon Lord. Equipped with a spore sack, hive pack, the gelatine from queen slime, and the Deerclops hand's thingy.
As a summoner main who loves having as many entities as possible, I love the spore sac
Venom staff, rainbow rod, spirit flame, and golden shower/cursed flames. Use these weapons for mage plantera. Anytime you just have to dodge and just get rid of some of his extra mouths use the spirit flame, otherwise use venom staff and the rainbow rod depending on how good your aim is. Tomes are for extra damage.
Okay my favourite Terraria build is the Chaos build where you equip only things that spawn additional offensive projectiles. Royal Gelatine, Bone Glove, Spore Sac, the one from Deerclops who's name i've forgotten, but you get the idea. Just walk into a crowd of enemies and do nothing and watch them all perish.
I remember the spore sac helping me alot in my first playthrough
I've always just skipped over this item and threw it into a chest but this actually looks like something I could really use
Anytime I play expert or master mode spore sac is a Must have after plantera simply because it's sheer usefulness in crowds or events like martian madness or pillars even for moon lord it's still pretty good
I always used the Spore Sac for grinding, but I never thought about the chlorophyte armor!
i always sold them never knew they were worth using, thank you i think i'll use thek from now on
Very useful accessory always keep it in my vanity incase I wanted to afk somewhere
True Nights Edge and True Excaliber carried me pretty greatly when fighting Plantera as well.
yeah i main melee and the true excalibur range is massive with legendary and fire gaulnlet
I used this item against Calamitas Clone and it carried very well. She would ram at me and therefore into the spores, taking good damage.
"best expert item in Terraria" individual named shield of Cthulhu:
Nice green sac review. Brilliant.
I used this thing in the past but now I prefer going for more general damage output, like triple quiver on ranger or mana restoration on mage, unfortunately it's one of those items that is "neutrally" good but always gets overshadowed by class specific accessories
Spore sac, hands, chlorphite armor bees and minios so fun sitting there ive used the spore sac a lot too on my tank cause im lazy lmao
lowkey i used the Spore Sac a lit. it is a item i really like. stacked with other auto-attack options, summons or thorns, it does work, the damage is solid.
*Sockrteez PLEASE make a video on Venom Dart Traps!* this traps were added in 1.4.4, you craft them with Spider Fangs and a normal Dart Trap. What makes it amazing it's that inflicts "Acid Venom", so you can REALLY make the better AFK Farm with lava before you get the traps from the Jungle Temple.
can you make a weapon review of the phantom phoenix? An tier 2 OOA drop from the ogre miniboss
My personal favourite Expert Mode item is still the Shield of Cthulu because I go mad without the dash, but I can't speak for this one because I've yet to beat any of the mech bosses in Expert Mode. I definitely might give it a go at least against Golem if I ever manage to get that far though.
Woah I usually ignored it So I keep my Shield of cuthulu in the accessories, Thanks for the tip man!
ill try this in my summoner play through:)
his name is sockrteez because he is the philosopher of the terraria community (sockrtees = socrates)
I don't find myself using the Spore Sack itself, but instead Thorium's upgrade to it. I always thought the Heart of the Jungle was better, but now I might want to compare.
I’ve always used this in my expert mode rubs it’s definitely great
Imagine if we could combine volatile jelly, deerclops mask, bone hand, and other similar accrssoried on tinkeres table. Thay would be cool
Yeah that thing save me a lot during sore eclipses
“Nice Green Sac Review” you got me right there, man 😂 Anyways, I use this accessory, during farming, as you showed earlier on! It makes farming SO EASY!
I have always wondered if it was actually useful, everytime i fight plantera I just dump it without question, I might give it a try now
The thing is amazing, but since you get it when you already get many important accessories, AND the 2/3 of the bosses you can fight are fast moving. Maybe you replace it with the terraspark boots( if you have masterninja gear ) during golem fight, but is it really worth it?
Damn, I didn't know it got a buff in 1.4.4 I really have to do a playthrough with it now
the green fairy showing you the chest right next to you at 3:00 lol
Important Fact: Remember that 1.4.4 added the Cursed Dungeon Walls, you get them by crafting normal dungeon walls and tossing the walls to the shimmer, so you can build an artificial Dungeon Biome underground (with traps, lava, etc...) and this accessory will not only help to deal more damage in general, but it will also protect you from enemies that teleport or go through walls.
Can you do a video in the updated guardian thing that stardust armor gets?
You should really do a video about the shadow flame hexdoll?
