I made a huge Fusion sword of Cloud, Final Fantasy 7 main character with cardboard. He uses it from AC. Fusion sword separates to six swords.

Wouldn't call it a total bs. First of all it's a fantasy world, and second of all it's made by a mechanical designer. Designing one of these, even if its total bs, is an extremely hard job to do

I was impressed by how clean each individual sword was made, but you went above and beyond and got them to combine to the full movie sword. Absolutely blown away by this man's craftmanship.
Watching this and suddenly I'm reminded how much of a walking arsenal Cloud became. He's got like, what, 6, 7 swords on him at all times?
One of the (many) best parts of the movie is in the beginning he uses just the middle centerpiece blade and as the situation escalates and he comes to terms with his trauma you slowly watch him get more and more serious with the fusion sword/first tsugiri as he keeps removing more and more of the sub blade from his bike and adding them to the sword until he finally has the full sword assembled for his fight with Sephiroth at the end before disassembling it again and using each piece individually for the Omnislash V5. Such a fun little piece of character building and story telling through prop design while also being completely rule of cool badass.
7. Called the Fusion Sword or First Tsurugi. It was his replacement after he used his Buster Sword as Zack's Tombstone after the events of FF7. Has the ability to combine by channeling his energy into it, making it more compact and stronger, or separate on the fly giving him different strength and speed options.
See, this is the kind of play set I would buy for my kids. Imagine the bragging rights for just having this!

At Comicon, a battle was about to commence between 6armed cosplayers & another 5 who didn't have any crops/weapons with their costume. Then comes a stranger carrying one colossal sword. He interrupts the struggle and tells them: "I can join you 5 and lend you a sword. If you need help?". The unarmed cosplayers were delighted, but at the same time confused, after one of them said: Thanks for offering your help, but you only got One Sword on your back. DanCreator smirks at them, as he hands the craftable swords after dismantling his Cloud's Fusion sword. Turns out the rivals were dumbstruck and opted in following the Master Cardboard Craftsman.
God, can you imagine this thing being made of... well, literally any metal? It'd probably weigh a couple hundred pounds. Also, if it's anything ferrous, you'd need superhuman strength just to dismantle it because the magnets would stick the parts together like flat Lego pieces.
Maybe it could use electro magnets such as to deactivate them if need be
I have seen and owned at one time a variation of it that was for cosplay made of metal. It only split into four swords though, and it was rather hefty. Still is a proof of concept that it could be done.
@@MinatheValkyrie I think, iron carbon alluminum alloy in theory could work. That should reduce the weight by a lot, and still retain some strenght, however only when fully assembled. It should still be around 50-80lb sword tho. So it will take some one quite strong to weild, let alone learn how to weild it properly. The individual swords would be much lighter, but due to their lenght wouldn't be very strong. The concept is cool, but just not practical. The sword is just far to big, and even if you made an alternate version at smaller scale, it will still run into weight to power problems.
If I recall from another video several years ago, Shadiversity I think, in the lore the only the edge was steel the rest was aluminum, still an 60-80lb sword
@@jayglier I believe there was also a full steel version made by man at arms and it was so heavy the blacksmith threw his back out making it.

I saw someone make the design in miniature that worked a few years ago and was hoping someone would have the skill and determination to do the same full sized one. The world does not disappoint.
Wow. I found you about a decade too late. I used to make anything and everything out of cardboard and whatever else I could find. I’m happy to see the fine art of cardboard art won’t be lost!
We just need metal versions of these and we're truly golden. Love this!

Cloud certainly had his priorities straight after the main game. A six in one sword, and self repairing motorbike.
Imagine an Advent Children game with this sword would be insane swapping different sword and playstyle.
Hoping for this for the next game! Spoiler Maybe Zack gets to keep the buster sword and Cloud switches to the fusion swords as they travel together.

I have never clicked on anything (that I didn't specifically search for) quite as quickly as this video claiming to have made a FULLY INTERLOCKING SET OF FUSION SWORDS. Not only did you do exactly as promised, but you even made the construction process interesting. Well done my good sir.

The "main" sword may be made out of light wooden material in order to sustain the weight of the fully formed sword better... But for an ALL-CARDBOARD build, the craftsmanship is definitely god-tier... Nice work...

The design of this sword is just so awesome. Not only is it ridiculously big, you also get a much higher sword per sword ratio. Final Fantasy at it's finest

That is so damn cool. Anyone else hoping that we can get the fusion sword in the remake maybe as Clouds ultimate weapon in part 3?
They said that they are going to include all of the FF7 Compilation in the Remakes. I really hope this includes Advent Children. They could at least include the AC costumes and Weapons.

This finally made that thing's mechanics make sense. Still a super weird weapon, but it's FF. Should appreciate my next watch of Advent Children a bit more now.

The most accurate Buster Sword to date and it's made of cardboard

Dang, Awesome work! I wish this video was around a few years ago, I made one out of cardboard for a college project, but it wasn't nearly as beautiful as this one!

Holy mackerel, I can't IMAGINE how tricky it was trying to ensure all of these individual layers would stay solid even when laid together in the fused form. Truly amazing!!

OK I wanna know the story of HOW Cloud built his sword! I mean something like that requires a lot of thought, a lot of precision, and he had to know a really good engineer to help him put that together. (maybe Cid helped him out?) Not to mention, it’s the multi piece weapon where, once fully assembled, it has the same shape as the buster sword. That was NOT an accident on Cloud’s part
It wasn't. Cloud made the fusion sword so that it would replicate the buster sword to remember zack. But also so that he could fight in areas where the buster sword would struggle. Hence the smaller blades. As for designing it. I don't think cid helped. It would be more likely that cloud knew a swordsmith or used some abandoned Shinra tech to make it.

I always wondered how Cloud and other characters could handle such massive swords while being so skinny. Now I know they were painted cardboard all along
I wonder if one could theoretically recreate this using foam or even metal. It'd weigh 3x as much, but it would be such a cool display piece

the handle of the base sword could have been made more sturdier to sustain the weight of the rest of the swords. but this was an awesome build 😊
Imagine how heavy it is, if this was forged in steel or any metal possible. 😶
Considering the thickness? It's safe to assume no human could easily lift it, let alone any magnets strong enough to keep it together. If you want it as a prop, hollow carbon fiber would be the way to go
