  • The most impressive range session I ever saw was back in the late 90s when I was a “cart boy” at TPC Sawgrass. Sir Nick Faldo was on the range by himself and I sat on a towel 10 feet behind him and just watched. With a 5 iron, he could call fades and draws in 1 yard increments. He was like a machine, literally. Super nice guy as well. I’ll never forget it.

    • Sir Nick gets so much flack for no reason - I’m glad your experience was the same as mine. I met him in a restaurant a few years ago, he was having a meal with his family and I was nervous to go up and speak to him but he was more than happy to stop for a couple mins to chat with me and have a photo with me, I’ll always be a big fan of him for that

    • Well put! He's absolutely incredible. Best to ever play the game, hands down. IMHO, he would've won so many more majors had injuries not plagued him but it is what it is. He would contort his body swinging so hard that it was only a matter of time until that caught up to him. Fast forward to this past February with that brutal car crash injury also. Regardless, he's still always going to be the *GOAT* in my book! *Also, the amount of skill it takes to hit it flush every time without taking huge divots is absolutely INCREDIBLE* 🐯🐅🐐

    • @@rosariocarias7906 Well, I can see him being around maybe 5-6 more years and even then, he is going to have a limited 15-16 tournament schedule. He might continue playing some majors after that if he hasn't caught Jack's 18 by then, maybe only playing in 10 tournaments a year. However, considering Tiger already has almost every Nicklaus accomplishment topped as well as breaking other records Nicklaus never came close to, it's all about majors for him now. The question is, how many tournaments is a major worth? This is something I ask people. If one player had one major and 30 Tour wins and the other had 2 majors and 5 tour wins, who had the better career? If Tiger ends up with 90 wins (17 more than Nicklaus) and 16 majors (especially since Tiger will have probably 15-16 WGC events as well and having played against fields where the best players play against each other much more often than they did in Jack's day, how much is 1 or 2 majors worth? Are those 2 majors more important than having 17 more wins and maybe 6 or 7 more player of the year titles? Do his 4 years of record scoring averages matter (67.794 in 2000 and 67.794 in 2007 - something Nicklaus didn't really come within a stroke of ever) or his consecutive cut streak or his record of most consecutive rounds at par or better matter at all? Or, do his 9 Player of the Years compared to Jack's 5 mean anything? His 10 money titles to Jack's 8? His 9 Vardon trophies to Jack's 0? I mean, it seems like those things would only be ignored if you didn't want to give Tiger the credit of being the best to ever play the game.

With his irons he just bends the grass over. People have commented in the past that the wear patterns on his irons are a groove low, I guess this is why.

  • One of the more overlooked aspects of Tiger is his tempo. The tempo and transition of his swing is perfect when he's warming up. Be interested to know how much extra he really gets when he starts speeding it up a little. If it's not 30 yards with that 5 wood it's not worth it. I don't think he could hit one bad with that transition. It's literally perfect. Was a great reminder to start doing this again when I'm warming up. Did it for years and then just stopped.

    • @@pisanu6699 I believe that has a big part in it also believe all the scandal stuff, the arrest and the loss of his game really humbled him as well... But now he sees golf isn't the most important thing in life...I think he's got a good 5 years of top level golf left in him where he can win majors any time and then believe he can have outside chances up to 50-52 years of age... But tiger woods the man...I feel we are seeing the best version of the man we have ever seen

  • How can anyone doubt this guy? That swing is smooth and balanced. A much more relaxed, confident and mature mind will allow for even more success. I think Tiger is in a much happier space now. Just look at the love that was there from the important people in his life at the end of the Masters. I give thanks that we can see a sporting legend. Makes me appreciate how Ben Hogan was received by sports fans 70 years ago.

    • Perhaps is mind is in a better place, I really don’t know, but his swing definitely is not. It was much better back in the 99-03 era. Back before he fired Butch Harmon it was the best swing in the history of the game. He switched to Hank, attempted a swing change, and never got back to that same dominant level. Butch exploited his natural athleticism, but Hank was supposed to make him less prone to injuries by restraining his explosiveness. He was plagued with injuries ever since

    • @@hlf_coder6272 tiger was plagued with injuries his whole career and it wasn't because of Haney. Tiger had his first knee surgery in 1994 before he even turned Pro. He had lot's of injuries before he was coached by Haney.
