    • The jab is the weapon I was hoping he’d use more but 3 of his teeps were shut down with precision grabbing of the ankle by the opponent and hence he probably lost his confidence. The body kicks were shut down by the Thai going for the well timed leg kicks which isn’t fun as you realize you could lose your base and be on your back if you throw anymore mid/high kicks. And even the clinch favored the Thai as they tend to be way more trained and experienced in it. Many of the fights seem to go the same when it’s foreigner vs Thai. Thais start off slower generally so for a section of the first round it may seem like the foreigner has some kind of advantage but the Thais have the experience and the mindset to slowly keep pressing forward until it seems their opponent loses their composure. Just my opinion of course :)

    • Frankly with the height difference, well-practiced and powerful spear-knees could have been the difference I believe. Especially for keeping him at bay.

    • Clinching and kneeing suits taller fighter more in muay thai since its mainly knees and upper body wrestling unlike in mma where you can go for judo, wrestling techniques atoo of that, but of course long range battles suits them well althought usually, smaller fighters in muay thai tend to keep their distance as compared to mma boxing or kickboxing where smaller fighters try to make their way in

  • Miller is excellent at what he does, very skilled. But I don't think Miller studied Rodlek enough and made game plan for victory. Rodlek hits like a heavy weight, so solid defense is as important as striking. Most fighters can only take his power for a limited time. He's like fighting a boss in a videogame

    @limeddie3864@limeddie38642 жыл бұрын
    • If the smaller guy is somebody like Rodlek, losing against the smaller guy isn't a criteria imo. Everybody who steps into the ring with such a beast deserves respect just for trying 😅 but nevertheless I was thinking the same while watching the fight. He is very hesitant and doesn't let his hands and kicks go as he should. And if he throws there seems to be a lack of intent behind his strikes. That made me think he would be doing better (and probably feel more comfortable) in point kickboxing matches. Backing up and circling out against a smaller pressure fighter like Rodlek to keep him outside and yourself inside of striking distance is a good strategy but you have to throw and punish the opponent every time he gets into your striking range. Otherwise you get run over as the opponent loses fear of getting hit and gains confidence as your just running away. But to be fair: to me it's not just Millers fault but probably a lack of good coaching.
