ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto speaks with UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov about the situation surrounding his fight vs. Tony Ferguson at UFC 249. Nurmagomedov describes his decision to leave the United States and now remain in Russia. If he stayed in US and the fight is not gonna happen there, what's the point of leaving your loved ones behind during this pandemic.     • it's eastern (russian) mentality. We say it how it is, no sugar coating. (Im not russian) it's a norm here. If anything I think these regions with their past, people are just more humble than Western countries. With the regimes (wars) and hardships our societies had to go trough.     • I used to dislike him very much, probably just national camaraderie with McGregor, but he has grown on me so much. The way he handled himself when asked about Tony's mental health issues was really respectful. I think other people, such as Conor, would have gone down a disrespectful route.   • Kabib absolutely did the right thing. He is not only an amazing fighter but a quality human being. Beyond that, the only fighter who actually has a chance of beating him is an actual bear from the mountains.

    • You dont even know him personally just like we dont know most of the popular fighters out there. But they hurt ppl for a living and most of them are alot different then they appear. He was making fun of a homeless guy in New York and treating him like dirt but khabib is SO respectful...ud be surprised. Everyone has stuff they hide just some are worse then others
