About A Clockwork Orange:
Being the adventures of a young man...who loved a bit of the old ultra-violence...went to jail, was brain washed...and came out cured...or was he? In a futuristic welfare state, Alex (Malcolm McDowell), a vicious young hoodlum, sleeps all day and spends his nights roaming the city with his droogs (friends), assaulting innocent people in the streets and in their homes. Finally captured by the police, Alex undergoes rehabilitation in the form of aversion therapy as brutal and horrifying as any of his offenses.

A classic but yet disturbing at the same time! A true classic!
A true masterpiece
@@hefdzsyz welly welly welly well well
Bro it's dark comdey
@@dhanushpavi8372 you know nothing dude stop pretending
The book and ideas were crazy but the story was real horrorshow
I don't care if this movie didn't win any Oscars, it's still a masterpiece.
It only didn’t win due to people not being ready yet.
Guess what last December it got added onto the vaults of the Library of Congress. Thats the highest honor right there.
oscars don’t mean jack
I agree this movie is a masterpiece.
Why do you believe it's masterpiece?
Heath Ledger took a lot of inspiration from this movie for his Joker.
And not only from Kubrick. Don't forget Tom Waits!
Francis Bacon artworks
Yes. We can read Wikipedia articles too.
He watched it 10 times in a row to be exact
The best joker
Malcolm Mcdowell is so wonderful, after seeing this movie I saw the others that he had and can do from a villain to a completely innocent character
And unfortunately he never got paid by Stanley Kubrick either
@@GaryMSanchez wait what
@@GaryMSanchez yeah care to explain that one?
@@orionraka7820 He got ripped off by Kubrick who kept Malcolm's 2.5% of the total box-office gross for himself.
@@CyborgSodaCollects Malcolm was supposed to get $100,000 for his role, he also requested 2.5% of the total box-office revenue for his role. But he was informed by Kubrick that his request for the latter was denied. Later on, Malcolm met some of the WB execs who congratulated him for the success of the movie and finally becoming a millionaire. He was shocked when they told him that they agreed to give him a share of the profits and asked Kubrick to deliver it to him. But apparently, he never gave it to him.
Fun fact: This is the same trailer used for the 40th anniversary but with some shots and music changed.
And in 4k
im going to be honest I think the BFI did a far better job making a modern trailer for A Clockwork Orange.
@@skyven0m380 yeah, I agree.
So it's not the same trailer
@@jmcd21182 guess you could say that.
I can only imagine Leon Vitali watching the movie millionth time to make sure the colors are right. Props to him.
It was so visually stunning and perfection it was funny
I love how Warner Bros and Leon Vitali are restoring ALL of Kubrick’s films in proper working order. Shining, 2001, Fullmetal Jacket, Clockwork, and the non-WB films like Spartacus & Dr. Strangelove. Barry Lyndon is a must!
Would love to replace my Criterion Blu-ray with a Criterion 4K release.
@@SCEAGuy1 what is the difference between criterion and the studio?
@@markgarcia8253 criterion tends to be a better collector edition and sometimes may have a different transfer which may or may not be better or worse in audio and visuals than the studio release but sometimes it may be the same bc the studio uses their transfer and then it’s a wash
Barry Lyndon is sort of perfect without a restoration. If it’s on Criterion you can be sure it’ll be of the highest quality.
RIP Leon Vitali
A cinematic masterpiece that at the time of it’s release shocked the world. The violence in that movie by today’s standards seems tame.
Yeah, it's pretty tame
I saw this movie when it came out. I was 20. I thought it was a masterpiece back then. But I was always into film. When u watch now it kind of seems what our society had become. Another film is Escape to New York. Also it’s sequel. Escape to LA. Lots of the sci fi and futuristic films are all coming true now. A more recent one is The Giver! And Equilibrium!’
@@MsLamotta Yeah
@MaGuffintop that's the Ludovico working on you :) you're completely cured!
@@MsLamotta In what way is the giver coming true
My favorite film of all time. Never been more excited for a 4K release.
I’ve seen this movie in my film class a few years back. Our film instructor was showing it to his students to understand the definition of an anti-hero in cinema. Alex is the perfect example of that definition.
NOOOOOO0000 your professor is an idiot.
@@cothinker680 why

favorite film ever. saw a screening of this at the Aero in Santa Monica with Malcolm in attendance, and then he spoke post screening. He thanked us for laughing, to him the film is a comedy.
What an experience! I thought the movie was disturbing when I first saw it as a teenager. But on subsequent views grew to see the black humor. Great mix of horror and humor throughout.
It felt like a comedy to me too. A lot of cruel moments yet I couldn't help laughing through watching the film. I was surprised this genre wasn't mentioned in any description.
It honestly is a comedy, I can't take parts seriously because of the music, same with most of Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd
It's funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen.
This movie is a classic. Compared to a lot of movies out there, it's not as shocking as most people made it out to sound. Heck, the original cut was like 4 hours long, and even then after that, they had to cut 3o seconds from 2 scenes so it wouldn't be rated X. And it inspired one of my all time favorite video games, We Happy Few.
The begin is the same
What video game?
@@Puggelicious We Happy Few
So glad to see someone else knows that and loves that game as well
@@mattgerrish908 Thanks
Humor in this film is so unique and makes it more and more watchable.
YES 4K! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG
I’m reading the book now and it’s just so surreal and grotesquely beautiful. Can’t wait to watch the movie next.
Did you watch it yet?
book is more brutal and darker. Although storywise is somehow similar, Kubric had to change some scenes because it was too much even for him
Same
@@stadoblechdude i remember reading the book and it's not that heavier nor violent men, what are the moments that were so brutal even for Kubrick?
You can't get away as much as with a book. The only movie with violence as close in a book is I saw the devil.
That opening shot of Alex still gives me the creeps to this day...
One of the best opening shots in any film. And, as film critic Alexander Walker said, it's "untouched by time". Many 70s films look dated, but Kubrick's masterpiece could have been made yesterday.
My favorite movie, I can't get enough of it, what a masterpiece!
It inspired one of my all time favorite video games, We Happy Few
What's it about? Trailer just shows random wierd stuff that don't make sense!
Believe it or not I only got to see Clockwork Orange just four years ago for the first time. THIS MOVIE IS MASTERPIECE of the surreal! BEST Movie of ALL Time.
Say what you will about Best Picture winner The French Connection, but no one can deny that this film is truly a work of art.
It proves you don't need a big sum of money, and tons of CGI to make a marvel
The cinematography in this movie was 20 years ahead of its time! What a timeless & transcendent masterpiece from the master of filmmaking himself. An amazingly unforgettable classic, Kubrick was a real pioneering genius!
This was a true violent movie. The violence was not cringy or gut wrenching but satisfying. Kubrick's best in my opinion.
cringe worthy indeed
it's supposed to be cringy and uncomfortable i thought? everything in this movie is meant to be somewhat theatrical
it's not a Tarantino movie where violence is supposed to be satisfying.... violence in this movie is extremely disturbing just like moder day masterpiece oldboy
yea… old man getting beaten to death, woman getting violated, trauma and torture “satisfying”
@@Chuked We live in a sick world. And it's mostly men who are sick. I wish they'd get help already.
I must admit... I am 34 years old and until today i was convinced, that "A Clockwork Orange" is a movie from the 90s/ early 2000. And since i´ve only seen pictures from the movie and the main charakter, i thought it was Ewan Mcgregor.... Today i found out the movie is more than a half a century old....
The movie is very old early 90s for sure it was banned in England for some time . I had it on Dvd watched it many times, classic.
If you're based in the UK, it didn't release over here until the early 2000s as there were concerns over copycat incidents. It did get a very limited theatrical release when it was first brought out (One cinema in London, I think?) but otherwise, didn't come out over here until well after it was due.
@@RoseTintedSpectrum Your wrong but I will let you believe your right ✅.

I fell in love with Beethoven and Malcolm McDowell when I saw A Clockwork Orange, brilliant film
Even though this was withdrawn from several countries, Its still a masterpiece and This is how you make a movie like this. No one will ever make a Clockwork-inspired film
Masterbitter
A movie thats was a way ahead of its time
Alex DeLarge's piercing blue eyes, now in 4K
An astonishing film. Malcolm McDowell’s portrayal as Alex was memorable. A frightening dystopian view of the near future from the perspective of the early 70’s. Once again Stanley Kubrick caught the essence of the book and produced a cinematic masterpiece.
Actually I don't consider this film to be a near future but rather an alternate reality.
the narration in this movie is amazing

ESTE FILME É DOIDO, SURREAL...UMA OBRA PRIMA DO CINEMA
Alex is hands down one of the most iconic anti protagonists produced in film He’s Young yet Schadenfreude He’s Intelligent yet Fiendish He’s Cultural yet Hostile He’s Human yet Flawed
And he deserved everything.
The music of this and the way they speak their clothing is all so unsettling it’s a classic
Psychologically speaking vengeance rarely brings the catharsis we hope for

One of my favorite movies can’t wait to see it like this
This trailer is almost Dreamcore
Greatest movie of all time!
A Masterpiece.
This could be one of the greatest movies in the 1970s
It’s still so hard to believe that the character Alex is supposed to be 15 😅
That's the book. Alex is shown here to be a young man, late teenager because Kubrick and Burgess felt it would be too disturbing and distracting watching younger teenagers engaging in all the ultra violence.
この歳になっても、まだこの作品の良さが半分位しか😖 デモ素敵に、カッコいい!❤
This movie definitely opened my mind; this is on my Amazon wishlist
Possibly the greatest black comedy ever
Im surprised how i haven't seen this trailer yet, I just love it

I can't believe Warner Brothers produced this film. A big studio would never release a movie like this today.
You have joker which explores many of the underlying themes as this one.
Does anyone else apart from me think that Malcolm McDowell would have been excellent as Hannibal lecter if Hopkins turned down the role?
Just you then!!! Hopkins isn't athletic enough to kick people in the head and he lives behind glass so probably wouldn't be granted day release to act in this. Imagine lunchtime the rest of the cast wouldn't want him around if he was hungry.
Plus grand film de tout les temps en 4K ! WoW
Those who see this movie either love or hate it.I never heard a neutral opinion.
This movie is wonderfully masterpieces!!

This film and the Blade Runner are my two favourites ever. I still can't understand what they have in common so they both mesmerise me.
Love the soundtrack, it just fits so well with this movie, especially the title track which gives me goosebumps every time.
A Clockwork Orange brings with is a strong critique of society, showzinho scene of violence previously little explored, the language used, the narrative is perfect, the best in the history of cinema in my opinion, photography and soundtrack border on perfection. A clockwork Orange It’s a film Far ahead of its time and it gave me a passion for cinema, so that’s why It’s my favorite film, because of its construcion, plot, photography, score, language and especially the shock it causes, sepalino to everyone, Cinema does not only serve as a means of entertainment but as means of expressiom, point of view and criticism.
I will never hear "Singing In The Rain" quite the same way again.
