We are thrilled to welcome ten Icelandic rescue puffins to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary!

All ten of our new resident puffins are non-releasable rescued birds who were rehabilitated by our sister Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Iceland before being carefully transported to their new home at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek.
Our ‘Puffin Island’ exhibit is the only habitat in the UK to housed rescue puffins, who, until now have only been visible in the wild in limited conservation areas.
Off topic: I follow Ocean Conservation Namibia where they rescue entangled Cape Fur Seals. Someone asked today if plastics have been found in the dead seal's stomachs. I don't recall this being addressed before. Have you found this to be true?
