I think different methods are more effective for binding of limbs. A simple loop like that alone is generally ineffective. Also, it will depend on the rope used.

Guys don't worry, when he says it won't come loose, he means it won't come loose naturally, or if you tug on the ends, but if you pull on one part of the rope from the middle of the x it should loosen, then you can pull one end of the rope out of the x and the knot is undone. Just wanted to clarify that for anyone who thought it would literally be impossible to untie it. This doesn't mean you should tie the constrictor knot on yourself though, especially not the neck (for all you people with intrusive thoughts - don't you dare).

One of the first things that were taught to me as a scout is that a well done knot has three qualities: it is easy to tie, aesthetic, and easy to untie. That knot is easy to untie, the difficuly comes with how tight it is, not on it being tangled or whatever. (Yes, i am aware nobody asked me and I've not seen anyone say otherwise lol, I just wanted to share the info hehe)

Guys don't worry, when he says it won't come loose, he means it won't come loose naturally, or if you tug on the ends, but if you pull on one part of the rope from the middle of the x it should loosen, then you can pull one end of the rope out of the x and the knot is undone. Just wanted to clarify that for anyone who thought it would literally be impossible to untie it. This doesn't mean you should tie the constrictor knot on yourself though, especially not the neck (for all you people with intrusive thoughts - don't you dare).

One of the first things that were taught to me as a scout is that a well done knot has three qualities: it is easy to tie, aesthetic, and easy to untie. That knot is easy to untie, the difficuly comes with how tight it is, not on it being tangled or whatever. (Yes, i am aware nobody asked me and I've not seen anyone say otherwise lol, I just wanted to share the info hehe)

I tried it and gave it an all mighty tug on both ends. Then I pulled on each end individually. After seeing it wasn't budging that way, I proceeded to untie it quite easily also. Lol
