They don’t refer to themselves as such, nor do they allow or accept anyone saying otherwise. And most people can respect that. So that’s why it’s a beautiful thing to see Caitlin allowing her girls to still call her “dad”. It shows tremendous respect, love, and understanding towards them and their feelings. Wasn’t Kylie like 16 when Bruce started transitioning. His father duties were far from over and his transitioning was actually quite selfish, because his teen daughters lost their father. She mourned her father that was still alive. The least he could do was allow her to still call him dad, so in some way she can feel like she still has a father. I truly feel like we live in a delusional, narcissistic world. Theirs nothing courageous about this. Having a dad myself who is also selfish, this would be horrible and I think I’d need lots of therapy, God and healing, even as an adult. Imagine being a teen? Nobody ever thinks of the children….

This is so positive. They really demonstrate a different facet of what mainstream society perceives as “family”. They don’t refer to themselves as such, nor do they allow or accept anyone saying otherwise. And most people can respect that. So that’s why it’s a beautiful thing to see Caitlin allowing her girls to still call her “dad”. It shows tremendous respect, love, and understanding towards them and their feelings. It’s just unusual, that’s all.

Wasn’t Kylie like 16 when Bruce started transitioning. His father duties were far from over and his transitioning was actually quite selfish, because his teen daughters lost their father. She mourned her father that was still alive. The least he could do was allow her to still call him dad, so in some way she can feel like she still has a father. I truly feel like we live in a delusional, narcissistic world. Theirs nothing courageous about this. Having a dad myself who is also selfish, this would be horrible and I think I’d need lots of therapy, God and healing, even as an adult. Imagine being a teen? Nobody ever thinks of the children….
I still needed my dad till the day he died and I was 58. I still need him.
I wonder how 71 would look with no surgery.

This is so positive. They really demonstrate a different facet of what mainstream society perceives as “family”.
