1) Ladder Technique on Hashtags
- Use 1/2 top hashtags for your niche, then 1/2 less used up-and-coming hashtags for your niche. This will help you rank for hashtags on lesser populated hashtags because they have a longer life to be viewed in the "recent" section and also have less competition. If they get more exposure and perform well on the up-and-coming hashtags, they have a better chance of ranking on the 'top hashtags' for your niche and get mega exposure.
2) Use SEO! in your NAME AND DESCRIPTION
- in the title for your Account Name, Personal Name and Description. That's crucial is this is the way people find you. Nobody will know your name unless you are a huge celebrity. people can find you by what you do though, so include all relevant keywords in your description and personal name so you can get the most value. If you have your Name as your Account Name, for your Personal Name put in what you do: "Lifestyle, Travel, Fitness" etc. This will help users and brands find you much easier, as well as, help with SEO and organic search from Google etc.
3) Make good captions
- This should not be a tip, as it should be something that most people do, but surprisingly most people don't show themselves, story-tell, or connect with their audience in their captions. They post emojis or 'witty' one-liners and that's it, going for a more 'i'm too cool and mysterious to care to connect with you' aura. I think this is a major waste. "Social Media" is the most unsocial it's ever been and people still crave to actually connect even if very few people are doing it. Don't be one of those people. Show yourself.
4) Do What IG is promoting, don't just copy other people, Do WHAT is GROWING ON IG
- i.e. IG Live's, IG VIDEO, IGTV in addition to already doing high performing photo posts.
- Don't do what everyone else is doing, seeing established IGers, they, for the most part, aren't growing either, It's because they are doing the same things they were before and IG has changed.
- You need to focus on doing the exact things that IG wants to promote
5) Have a niche
- I mean a specific niche that's different from everything else.
- There's literally thousands upon thousands of fashion influencers, fitness influencers, travel influencers. If you are going to go into those niches, make sure you do it with a twist. Bring some other interest into it that's different that makes you unique and provides value in a demanding void from the public.
- For example food blogger/fashion blogger, travel influencer/comedian, fitness influencer/beauty. combine two popular niches and give it that unique twist that only you can because you know and love these two niches. Bringing two or more things together that people normally don't associate together is literally what creativity is.
