  • TGIF means "sextou" in a Portuguese slang to say that it's the weekend, the work is over and after that, we can have fun and do what people are really anxious for doing! Friday in Portuguese is sexta or sexta-feira. Then we get the noun "sexta" (Friday) and change it to a verb "sextar", meaning that we won one more week of hard work and responsabilities, and at last, we can make parties and have fun with friends and family!

  • Such a useful video, thank you so much, Vanessa!! As native speakers, we use these kinds of expressions at work all the time without realizing it: - An alternative to "I'd like to bounce some ideas off you" that I personally use A LOT is "I'd love to jam with you on X" or "I'd love to swap notes with you." - On the flip side, if I'm offering to chat with someone or have them "bounce ideas off" me, I might say "I'd love to be a sounding board, so feel free to bounce any ideas off me" or "hit me up anytime you'd like to jam on X."

    • In my opinion United States has the most headquarters of the biggest companies in the world unlike the Britain 🇬🇧suchas: toyota, ford, Gmc, apple, mcdonald's, kfc, Starbucks coffee sutherland global company if u need to compare the U.S to the U.k the difference is huge between them as you can see many people worldwide from different nationalities prefer to speak English with American accent because it's an work's language in many jobs in the American companies world wide @cesarlopez8273
