Yup, he knows that his entire life has led up to this moment, but he can't do it. If the fight wasn't already about to be over, this would have sealed it. Florian Munteanu as Viktor is impeccable casting. Munteanu has this sensitive face. You can see the ignored little boy inside him. The horror of his mother walking out on him is both literal and painful, as is the fact that he won't go down, because he is doing this, risking life and limb, for his father, who never abandons him. Tessa Thompson's surreal song is a nice touch. All in all, though, thanks to Munteanu and Lundgren, the film goes from average to great, especially that last beat, after Ivan throws in the towel, when Ivan and Viktor, father and son, forever united, are seen running together, back to their routine, forever changed and better. The film is good because Munteanu's Viktor is not a stereotypical villain.

Fun fact: Writer/director/Producer of the original film, Ryan Coogler wanted to show via Adonis’s style that he was like Apollo and Rocky. The fighting style is a marriage of Apollo’s speed oriented style and the brawling that Rocky uses. Though these films seem to be more grounded in reality than any of the previous entries. Point being: every thing he does that gets him in trouble versus Drago Is somehow connected to his father.

If only someone could embody Apollo with close to the incediary energy the always underrated Carl Weathers brought. I am ready for a Rocky universe. So, we see Apollo's rise - his exit from Los Angeles poverty to the Olympics, ending as he develops as a businessman and faces some impenetrable monster for his belt. ALL HARDCORE 70s action. Then, why not, the Dragos? The Dragos like the Klitschkos, in the Ukraine / Russia - Euro-boxing-scene. I'm ready to buy tickets for the family, like, yesterday, and merch. They're leaving money on the table.

I don’t think people give props to how realistic this fight is in its own right. Of course, it’s less realistic than the first fight, but the way Creed approaches fighting Drago and a lot of the actual action is extremely well done. Most fighters would assume a guy as big as Drago lacks speed, which is Creeds mistake in the first fight. But you can see from how quick Drago fires his power shots and the way he’s able to maneuver around the ring with the same fluidness as smaller fighter and keep up with Creed that this isn’t the case. He’s almost like Mike Tyson with the power shots and his ability to apply pressure, but his size does present the issue of a lack of stamina which is shown here. Most fighters would be scared to attempt to get on the inside of Drago to deliver any damage due to the massive shots constantly being thrown whenever anyone is in range, because as Rocky said you have to be willing to take the pain to give any pain. Drago’s large and long arms prevent him from effectively throwing shots close to his body once someone gets in close, but his speed usually allows him to slip back and throw more brutal shots before getting to many shots in at him. The reason why Tyson didn’t have this problem is due to his rotation while fighting and his lack in height that gave him the advantage of power shots without a weakness on the inside, but with the speed and technique to continue applying pressure even without the reach advantage (which he still had due to his long arms to some extent). Overall, people don’t give how perfectly executed the fight choreography is in this movie, and how it compares to real boxing with a lot of people calling it unrealistic.

THE BEST. #1 is 1) "Rocky" (so real; Burt Young, Meredith, Talia = perfect. Stallone writes a masterpiece. Thanksgiving scene is brilliant. 2) "Rocky Balboa," (for its return to reality and a series of great speeches: "Hurtin' Bombs" to "Respect," from Mason's Trainer to "Life ain't all sunshine and rainbows...") 3) "Creed II" - shock of the world! (the Drago backstory, the poignancy in that broken family, which more than makes up for "Rocky IV" and the wince-inducing Paulie-Robot bit and cartoonish "inhuman" Drago, simply lacking in character then, 4) then "Creed I" (nice re-set, great Stallone performance, everything elegantly done.) 5) "Rocky III" for pure pyrotechnics and Mr. T running in Nike gear, an electric Carl Weathers who should have been up for an Oscar, all in all: THE film that captures an era, the 1980s even more than the east vs. west antics 6) A controversial "Rocky II," (for all its qualities, like Rocky in commercials, we just see Rocky get the belt with a strong ending, although Weathers, again, starts to SHINE, and 7) "Rocky IV" -- as the franchise begins to dip.... and (not surprisingly... I've already said a bunch about it) and LAST place -- 8) "Rocky V": which was the saga's total nadir. It attempted to rob Rocky of the Armani, its has a shrill villain with a high-pitched screaming voice from a once sound 90s-era contender, but, all in all, it simply doesn't work... it's a useful transition to later greatness at best.

I saw Rocky 4 in the theatre. It was electric. People were chanting for Rocky and the USA over the Soviet Union! Totally disagree. Rocky 1, then Rocky 4. The Cold War factor was something that just cant be replicated. Rocky vs Drago was like World War 3 in the ring. Something none of the other movies can replicate. It was just special. Maybe it's because I'm a Gen X, I don't think the younger generations understand it like Boomers or Gen Xers.

Creed comepring logan vs ksi creed be like sooo when they going to start its been 1hr
Every time the rocky theme plays in these movies I get shivers I swear best cinematic decision
Landon Starkey omg saamee
Everytime I rewatch this I remember how awesome it was in theaters
I watched it at home and it was such an emotional moment,my whole family got up of the couch and started to sing the Rocky song while we were claiming creed, even my 6 months old baby. BEAUTIFUL!!!
Any music wears off in time, But never the Rocky Theme.
Yeah less than a dropped cyborg right
My heart broke for victor when he looked up and saw that his mother abandoned him AGAIN. Any good mother would be proud to have a son like viktor and what hes accomplished
ik right
Yup, he knows that his entire life has led up to this moment, but he can't do it. If the fight wasn't already about to be over, this would have sealed it. We saw how important the mental aspect of it was in the first fight. The boxing style also naturally played a part, but so was being in there for the right reason.
All Victor had growing up was his father and his boxing sport. Ludmilla was only interested money and high life she didn't care about her son Victor. She only seen both Ivan and Victor as money making high life.
Smh I know right. My heart literally sank in the theater when I saw it watching that scene.
Viktor is a scum bag he hit creed while down causing major injury and then held n hit him and broke his ribs .. scumbag to the fullest
I like how in this film Drago is seen like more of a real person than in Rocky 4. In that film he was almost like a cartoon character. Ultimately he threw in the towel out of concern for his son.
In Home Trainer Oakville Yeah, they really humanized him here! Can you say character growth, or what!
Lol Me & my friends use to say a cartoon character on steroids
Thats called jorney from boy to matured man
Respect ❤ probably took a lot for him to do that
He seen his son was more important to him than anything else. Victor was very loyal to Ivan.
The fact that both of them are willing to die out there in the ring and not give up takes this cinematic experience to another level
True, but truly Adonis was out of his league on this fight, no foot quickness just anger doesn't mix against a fighter like Drago
Yea, such an admirable thing to be willing to leave ur wife a widow and ur daughter without a father because ur too proudful to just take an L
@@CustomFitted Almost like fighting is dangerous.
@@Some_Idiot_on_the_Internet There's a difference between boxing/fighting and being "willing to die", I know u thought u had a little zinger there but...nah Then again, u did warn us with that username

when the ref asked "whats your name?" and adonis yelled CREED, it hit me

“He’s Gonna Come After You And He’s Gonna try to Break on that rib some more” “But that’s ok cause you like the pain you can take it you know why?” “Because your dangerous” Epic!!!
And the accent too
What a humanizing moment for Ivan Drago. I imagine he's thinking "They let me kill his dad, now they are gonna let him kill my boy".
I swear teras man
He cares more about his son than saving their name.
@@roguejester4986 Which is just am awesome character arc because that's clearly not where he was in the beginning of the movie.
@@matthewharris8819 Agreed.
@@matthewharris8819 Also it is "an" not "am".
Rewatching this I kind of felt bad for viktor he was doing that only to impress his mom so was his dad smh only for her to walk out on him because he was losing
You not the only one, and for a minute it looked like Adonis was Looking over there and seen Drago mom leave and felt sorry for him but he took care of business, sad nonetheless
corneil Madison it’s pretty amazing how They made a pretty despicable villain and made him into a complicated person that you feel for at the end of the movie.
AndNegativity Lands when rocky said viktor had nothing to lose he actually did and it was the one thing he had left and he was fighting hard to keep it. It was the love of his father in which viktor sees that his dad truly loved him even when he lost the fight.
Viktor’s mother disgusts me
Yeah, but sometimes in moments of extremity; similar to what both fighters might be feeling in the ring trying to kill each other; you are reminded of the things that you live for, your mum, dad, spouse or bro/sis or anyone and you muster the strength to bear and fight back and ask God to let you live for that thing or person..
I enjoy how Adonis doesn't fight like his dad.
Shadow Rage lol I see you
Every fighter has their style
Cessa Badger not all
@@basicallyyes1796 can you elaborate?
Cessa Badger I am guessing that he means that some fighting styles are passed on. Though the form may be slightly altered, some tendencies and techniques may remain the same.
There were so many lessons in this movie. Determination and drive, Perseverance, having a good support system, Love and family, Facing your fears, failure, not backing down from a challenge but knowing when to be ready for that challenge. I loved every second of this movie there was not one dull moment. exceeded my expectations.
Mans came out looking like a sith lord
They really did make this final fight perfect, and having drago be the one to throw the towel in really made the ending even more perfect. Couldn't of asked for a better ending to the final fight.
11:18 my favorite part of this fight when the classic Rocky music plays 🔥🔥🔥
That's a well balanced breakfast over there
I love this entrance with his woman singing ❤️
I love how he had his wife sing his walk in song 🤗
Me too

Salvador Lucero wtf ????
bruh you ok??
" It's time, kid.." gave me chills... brought back so many memories of watching the original films in the theater...
In real life he'd murder creed, I love both actors but creed wanted the fight for pride Wich wasn't good but damn good movie
Nothing like having a great woman by your side. Power couple. I get chills and excitement when I see her walk her man out. You got beef with him. We both coming to you.
They make each other better. It's a nice romance amid a great, underrated sports drama.
When i saw Rocky 1 i couldn't believe that he cut the eyelid open just so he could see.
Supa Meme Time Most of the time it’s just to relieve swelling in the eye.
That was disturbing to me
Yeah that was pretty weird
It was to drain the blood, I am not sure a doctor would let that go… also I don’t think they would have let Apollo fight with internal bleeding (broken ribs I am not sure if that is a fight ender as well
That was common in the 50z and the 60z as a quick fix to swelling
Victor drago is actually a real heavyweight *german* boxer(florian munteanu)..... i didnt know until research

I like how creed is looking at Bianca and his mother after getting hit in the ribs screaming out in pain! Knowing he’s hurt but gets up! And continue to battle for everything he’s got! That takes heart and will .. to survive !
When Adonis comes out with that beat drop with his wife that shit gives me chills fam
Definitely my fave part I rewatched over 20 times fam
Nobody is gonna talk about creeds entrance that was is what I call a entrance👏🏾✊🏾
Facts
Drago's Walk Out was far superior
Fun fact: Writer/director/Producer of the original film, Ryan Coogler wanted to show via Adonis’s style that he was like Apollo and Rocky. The fighting style is a marriage of Apollo’s speed oriented style and the brawling that Rocky uses. Though these films seem to be more grounded in reality than any of the previous entries. Point being: every thing he does that gets him in trouble versus Drago Is somehow connected to his father.
These realistic Creed matches make the Rocky matches look ridiculous.
I thought it was kind of cheesey
Fax
This looks trash compared to the old Rocky matches.
@b g The only thing about this that isn’t realistic is that they punch more. In reality, it’s any normal boxing match on steroids.
@b g ok I watched some more boxing matches and you’re right, but you can’t deny that Creed is definitely more interesting
To see Viktor frustrated and then looking over to empty seats such a heartache.
This movie was a great production trust mi. i can't express how much i loved it
I cried when the rocky sound came. Thats og. That song makes men tear up...
Wow max did a great job narrating the fight

Apollo giving one of the angels a kiss watching his son go to work with them combos 😂
He giving Paulie, Duke, and Adrian a kiss 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love Rocky theme 💪💪💪
You like the pain, you can take the pain. Because your dangerous!
His entrance was so fire
I like the entrances from the first Creed more
@@Gabriela-Acevedo He roughly had any entrances from the first film, although they gave pretty ricky a better entrance in that movie
Dat entrance gives me goosebumps
Such a great movie 🍿 the ending was amazing 💓💓💓
Thanks!
I couldn’t believe Ivan threw the towel in after 33 years ago. A Creed has beaten a Drago!
What the fuck is you sayin
And a Drago having humanity.
look at it from his pov he killed adonis’s pops he knew that man was gon die before he took an L
They said they are going to make a Drago movie. .. They really need to .. Ivan and Victor deserve a win and have their moment. They've been through too much not too.. I can relate..I have Two Sons that I raised completely on my own after their Mom up and left before they even started school.
I would love to see a drago movie, they should also make a movie about Apollo creed about how he became a boxer.
I freaking love the intro!!
that entrance is 🔥🔥🔥
I love this movie!!! Creed2
Creed’s presentation was 🔥🔥
How funny and aura-ruining moment would it be when Roman Pierce suddenly walks in Creed's room before the fight instead of Rocky and says, "Hey Bianca, hide that baby oil !!"
Creed’s entrance was fire
I of course love Adonis but I felt for Viktor😔 he's freakin adorable an all him wanted was him mama love.. His cries at the end made me so sad😭
At least he knows his father loves him.
Best intro ever
Feel like it was a missed moment when Adonis is getting up from the canvas looking up and Apollo standing there saying something lol
Too cliché and expected, especially when Apollo is all through the Creed series by mention or photo.
This movie has the best choreography
It felt a little bit CG at certain points of the film, specifically this fight First creed had a better choreographed fight

The best movie after rocky
The ring walk from Adonis goes hard
Bruh that entrance was badass

Jordan patterned his pounding-on-the-ground scene on the Dragonball Z Gohan-vs-Cell battle. Kinda nerdy, but you've gotta admire that sort of referential creativity.
It is so sick tho
With everything In life if you wanna deliver pain you gotta take pain.
Honestly I was rooting for Creed but when Drago mom left...I was pissed. I don't care never leave a match no matter what.
I always loved how Apollo is the villain and he says stuff like “get an education and don’t go into fighting” (yeah so evil and the. You realize he is not a villain but a over confident fighter who gets a bulldog of an opponent who had him on ropes and only the bell saved him
I remember that dude he's from raising Dion l, Dion's dad that's cool
Bonita película como consigue vencer el personaje, ante tantísimas criticas, le dijeron que era una bestia y cayó hasta la bestias de ficcion.
Rock still has that stare down at Ivan , even after all that time, and they weren’t even the ones that were fighting.
Nice editing
When Ludmilla got up and left, I got pissed off for Viktor...
The look of disgust on Rocky’s face when he sees Ivan again. If looks could kill...
He killed Apollo and has 0 remorse about it. He never apologized for it. Look how Mary Anne looked at Ivan, she was equally if not more disgusted and angry.
@@M.Elle- If anything Mary Anne should be mad at Ludmilla, she was the one instigating at Apollo during the press conference And drago felt remorse and regretted killing Apollo in the directors cut
