I'm a boater. There are days that you just don't go out. Look athe waves in the distance in some of these videos. Its not just the inlet. Use your head and a marine radio.
AND A WEATHER APP! If thats not too much common sense!
I was taught if you see whitecaps on the horizon……stay home.
You need a good boat to face difficult conditions! Unfortunately most of the boats pictured here are not designed for rough sea no matter their price. The vertical bow fashion will end soon
Better to be on the land, wishing you were at sea than at sea, wishing you were on the land.
Yeah I agree even if you only have a limited time say on the weekends to go boating don’t risk your life for a little bit of fun😮 The problem is people don’t have those limitations I don’t think if something bad does happen then what
6.54 Father of the year award !!! Rough seas, young kids and no life jackets. Way to go !!!
Other than border patrol/customs, I don't recall seeing a single person in this entire video wearing a PFD of any kind whatsoever.
Little girl without vest sitting in the front screaming to her dad to stop. Dad, accelerates into an even bigger head wave like some sort of toughen love..
Shut up. You probably have never been on a boat
If we were looking at the same one it looks like the kid on the port side was wearing a red PFD.
4:45 I can't believe 3 kids with no life jackets on, especially when the waves are that bad
Because they are stupid
The waves are not bad. The driving is bad
Once again it is surprising to see so many kids not wearing life jackets in rough conditions.
Parents should be done for child abuse
It's amazing how some people live to be as old as they are....
parents mind: we put them on if we need them
@@PWGvideos hahaha It\s to late when they are under water drowning , you are unbelievable that you would think so little of your children , and not just you .
Absolutely ridiculous.. even now the first thing I do is strap on my floats
For me, watching those Midnight Express handle the rough inlet is a thing of beauty. Those boats stand out as works of art even when surrounded by some of the greatest performance boats in the world. I'd like to see an entire video of Midnight Express going through Haulover.
Me too. Those boats ride so smooth.
I love watching these videos and am always surprised at the lack of life vests, especially on kids.
The jet skier looked exhausted and full of water! That dude is lucky they found him! No time to waste there loll
Yes. Looked gone for all money...
Saved a life right there
A lot of these so-called captains are missing some brain cells, no life jackets, kids on the sun deck, fenders that are catapulted into the boat etc etc etc.
It’s Florida what do u expect
Whether it’s open bow boats which can swamp, timing turns in the swells so you don’t capsize or watching every direction all the time for careless speed boats, it all looks disastrous. FYI, I used to race 30-40 ft sailboats. Hell, you can break your neck at 0-5 knots if you do stupid crap. In fact in Galveston Bay once a long time ago, we ran right over a kayaker who was out watching the race. The empty kayak just squirted out at the side. Probably after it hit the keel. We found the kayaker and pulled him on the boat and his kayak too. He was shaken and looked like an old drowned rat. We gave him a beer and let him sit with us while we continued the race. Eventually, we put him back in his boat and sent on his way. The problem was that he was a long way off shore and not watching where he was going. No way would we have seen him. Too small. Too much going on. It was only kind of hilarious because no one was injured.
@@andrewbeattieRAB I've also raced in/on everything from Lasers to 40'+ sailboats and one of the first things you learn is keep people away or off the bow because that is the least buoyant part of the boat (apparently something that most stinkpotters don't have a clue about), not to mention it is also the place on a boat that moves around a lot, which is why most sailboat racing crews have the lightest, most nimble people working the fore-deck (and the rest of the crew is usually yelling at them to hurry up and get off the bow because they are slowing the boat down). After World Class sailor Larry Klein drowned in 1994 I bought and always wore an inflatable harness every time I left the dock for a race or pleasure sail. Anyone that ever crewed on my Lightning Class sailboat were always told to bring a good properly fitting life jacket with them when we went out on the boat, whether for practice or a regatta. The other thing that many of the stinkpotters in these videos don't appear to have a clue about is tide tables and weather conditions. An outgoing tide and a strong easterly or the afternoon sea breeze is going to make that inlet rough and unless there is a real good reason to go out at those times the smart captain will stay tied up at the dock or do a sightseeing trip in the other direction.
@@tomsu8455 like most Florida stories, most people are not natural Floridians. A lot of northerners live in Florida.
Welcom to Florida wdgaf.
I have to say that I am very impressed with the pilot of the little SeaRay Sundeck (blue and white). On this channel alone, I have seen MANY bow riders with that design either sink, or come very close to it, and in lighter waters. Other then the "spine cruncher" at the end, the pilot of that boat did a great job navigating those waters and not even close to a stuffing. 🔥🌟. Awesome to see that there ARE knowledgeable people, as few as I've seen.😳 BTW, THANK YOU BOATZONE for making videos. Maybe it brings back memories. But your videos are almost addictive and I find myself watching more boating then anything else. So thank you for many hours of watching some good boatings and other times, I'm yelling at the screen, trying to coach the pilots as they're presented. Please never stop making these simple but excellent videos (by simple I mean that they have easy to watch content, but I understand how much work goes into your videos, so please understand that I meant no disrespect. Like I said, I love to watch and remember when I was ripping around Buckhorn Lake in a 21' Charger with a 200hp Mercury on the back. Back then (and for skiing purposes) the 200 HP on a flat bottom boat, like a Charger or JCraft was the ultimate in speed, other then a 16foot J Craft with a 454 big block that used to scream around the lake. That thing would've pulled you right out of your skies!lmao😂🦡🙏🙏🙏
Did not realize how addicting this Smorgasbord of boats would be.....Checking how many minutes were left...hahha! Love it!
I have been watching all over videos every day for about a year and this is perhaps the roughest I've ever seen it
Haulover voice to text sorry
Miami sure has no shortage of clueless, dangerous Captains !
Some are clueless. Some don’t want to make the correct decision and disappoint the clueless in bikinis. And some are charter boats that don’t make money if they remain tied to the dock.
Money can buy horsepower, but can't buy seamanship or common sense.
@@mirandahotspring4019 Or life jackets apparrently.
@@nospoon4799 True, distressing to see people heading out with little kids without life jackets!
i dont know if youve taken my feedback but there seems to be more variety of boats in the clips now, not just millionaries boats, old ones and small ones too, big like!
Drone footage is really good - especially at 22:27. Great flying by the operator.
At 2:13 the boat bounces so hard that the water from previous stuffings is ejected. This is the first un-stuffing that I ever saw!
Many of the “operators” seem unaware that they may have injured passengers aboard.
Going through that pass to me is mandatory life jackets for everyone. That current is waiting to take you under. idc how good a swimmer you are. You're gonna get gassed. Especially kids by the time their picked up in those conditions.
It's really sad for those of us who work child drowning deaths. Most of the time there is a simple prevention to it. I can not believe the parents who don't put their kids in them. Notice how the Coast Guard wears theirs and they are professional swimmers!
I think parents should be charged with neglect! You can see how easy it is for adults to fly off a boat and how hard it is to even see between the waved. Maybe boat courses should include videos of accidents resulting in a child's death! It is absurd!
No one wearing a life vest. And the boaties judgement of the sea condition is near non-existence. Its like make or bust.
@@jlg3256 I guess they think having lots of money to burn makes them unsinkable lol.
I wonder how many serious back and neck injuries happen in that inlet? Idiots driving boats with other idiots trusting their capabilities. I learned a long time ago that I don't go out in a boat until I know that the "Captain" has some skill and awareness.
I think the spectators on the shore make it so much more exciting for these guys. It makes them want to show off and get into trouble because they don't want to appear afraid! Jajajajajaja it's the Fonzie syndrome loll.
From watching these vids I've learned ... when that red-arrow of doom points at you, it's time to repent. 🤣
im liking the freeze frames on the boats .. makes for some awesome backdrops and screen savers ... man those Intrepid s are sweet
22:29 drone shot is epic
Raise the bow or plow, it's your choice. Amazing how many of these people don't understand trim and it's purpose. Damn entertaining though 😅
Money can buy nice boats, but it cannot buy the skills needed to operate them. 😂 ( AKA- Captain's who to try to kill the passengers )
It hurts my back just to watch these people get slammed around!
With the storms in the region, I'm not surprised it get "interesting" in that inlet.
I love the "oh shite" and then the u turns ❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome camera work and editing guy's,.... just phenomenal
Why is this so relaxing
Forecast: Hurricane - "Yeah I think it's a good day to go out"
I think "Waterdream" might do with a rename to "Wetdream" after seeing her handling those waves.
I was thinking what a horrible hull design that is for anything other than a calm lake surface...The bow never pushes the water away from the boat!! Horrible!
I thought the drone was going to take a wave or two.
That '86 Formula was beautiful.
As the people who brought the first certified Swiftwater Rescue Tech training to the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest, we wear the highest floatation vests we can buy. Every year we needlessly lose a passel of people to the water. On the average, 85% are not wearing proper floatation. A.a.and, of the rest who perish, 85% of those have alcohol running in their veins. Wear hi-float vests and stay sober, stay within reasonable limits of your training & experience and common sense, and you'll probably live a long time on the water. JDA & KJA "Stayin' Alive!"
красота! можно целый день просидеть на берегу наблюдая за лодками!😍
OOooooh, that Frauscher at 7:55 is a great looking boat. Gorgeous lines.
Seacraft is killing it👍
I love it when the boulders pop out of the holders
MY GOD!!!! Someone is actually holding a BABY in the bow of one of those boats!!!! I can’t wrap my head around the lunacy of it all!! A BABY!!!! Jesus wept!!!!
(15:46) that midnight express tho 🤤❤😍💯🔥🔥🔥😘💪😲
Thanks Boat Zone!"👍
This should be called a flying boat video!! This is crazy!
What’s wrong with these parents that don’t make your children wear lifejackets while going across a sandbar
This is Fl 😂
@@BoatZoneThat's what I always say 😂 when in Florida, go with the norm,be stupid and clueless 😂😂
I know I would be wearing one, and im not a kid. and i would be in the back of the boat, not on the bow.
I agree Mike, it is very irresponsible of those parents, if nothing else they should make the kids wear them until they are out of the river, no doubt people have been tossed overboard!
You know the seas are big when that 45' azimut completely disappears in the troughs.
"98 DAKOTA" looks very Good!!!
I live at Lake Tahoe, planning on ordering a Formula 38ssc, a few things, Tahoe can get nasty, not like the inlet, but still 4-5 ft swells, trim and speed are your friends, will ALWAYS have more than required PFD'S on board, when underway, no exceptions, anyone, friends/family, under 18 must wear one, we post up to get sun and water time then and only then you can take off the PFD. And for fk sake no one in the bow in these conditions
Great fun in that single-engined rib!
It looks like a really rough day. Don't these people check the marine forecast?
haulover is known for being the worst for tidle break if you look out past the biats the sea really isn't that bad it's just the inlet
Yet, no booties seem to care.
American people enjoy the frill and a good life . Every one is having fun , the sea is warm and if you further out the fish are biting . It’s never too rough to go out . Enjoy . Love America
That's the nicest way I've ever heard an entire region of people (correctly) called a bunch of absolutely thoughtless, clueless, cum-drunk, submorons. As an American, they don't come any dumber!
Got to say it also surprises me that nobody ever wears a light jacket in these videos I thought there was a law that you have to have your life jacket on when the boat is moving😮
It's Florida so...😂
6:40 looks like one kid has a life jacket... Guess he doesn't care that much about the other one. 😆
Hope that jet skier who was rescued is OK. I dont think I've ever seen someone's head that color of purple/red
Its amusing everytime i see a bay cruiser trying to get through the inlet on a day like this. Nice little boat but know its limits
"Bowriding is reckless!" 9:52 :"Hold my beer."
I cannot believe the utter, utter stupidity being shown by some of these so-called boaters. Words fail me. Hats off to the jet skiers who rescued one of their fellows. A difficult task as a person in the water in seas like that is very difficult to see.
It's obvious that many of them have more dollars than sense...
For some of these, I wonder what the ratio of life vest to people is. Never mind the fact that children definitely should have jackets on and be at the back of the boat.
Thx for the generous serving of Turkeys with extra Stuffing !! AND it's not even Thanksgiving yet !! Cheers 🚤👀😁👍🏻🇺🇸 2:15 - Nice vertical on that gal !
I would like to see the Thunderchild II slice through these waves.
you and me
We are three 💪
Doesn't matter how expensive your boat is or how big it is!,the ocean 🌊 will own you every time!!#awesome mothernature..
Tahoe t16 gang!!! WHAT UP!?! WOO WOOOOO!!!!
Geez, I’m seasick just watching these!
Nice drone shot 16:00
Nice job on the stop action and tell us what kind of boat it is. That's pretty cool and I like when you get the boat up in the air and you stopped the picture that's cool too
Finally something nice to watch! Well captured and edited. Was afraid it now was all about boring bikinis stuffed with unified fillings on large floating devices on the Miami river🤪 This is so much more exciting and better! Now, dig out some nasty weather and shoot🤙
Curious: is there a reason that the sand bar at the entrance is not dredged? Seems the rough water caused by tidal flows is magnified by the shallows at the entrance, making a hazard that doesn’t need to be. Just asking.
Americans, you know. Dumb as a brick
Because it doesn't matter it would accumulate in a matter of days back the same way
In hospital in traction with broken arm and no front teeth. Gee Bill,,, thanks for the boat ride!
🥳🎉🎉🎉 Happy New Year
A few times I had to wait for the tide to slack to return threw clearwater pass and Clearwater is mild compared to haulover. I had an open bow tri hull i paid $1100 for.
If ever there was a boat designed to sink, Bayliner takes the biscuit.
Finally someone runs a sea ray properly
Any way you could throw up an approximate value when you identify a boat? It would be cool to see what the boats run, even the smaller ones. Might even make for some good conversation here in the comments. Might even get me to like and subscribe. Fun content to watch!
23:27 that ding dong threw a beer bottle in the water.
Unbelievable how incompetent and irresponsible people can be on our waterways. These videos should be shown to everyone who steps foot on a boat. Truly sad to see how many people just don’t think..
23:23 save the beer!! _________ to hell with the beer, save the kid!
Total dick move on his part, all the way around.
Sic bro
11:55 and 12:15 "NauticSta" has a really low frontend. Seen it before as well in your videos. Why are the Nautic Star constructed like this?
Safety seems an afterthought to most of these guys
I can hear the balsero telling abuelita "Aguanta, es como cuando venimos de Cuba"
Funny how they hit those big waves then turn around to go back in it.
Someone please explain the "WaterDream" boat design and why the front is like that. The thing was getting wrecked by waves because of whatever that blunt front shape is for. Looks so fancy too, but holy moly did it not perform well with the waves.
All the craze right now, ugly AF!
It's a Bay Boat only. :(
With my back there is no way I could go in a boat thru there :-)
Tahoe: check. Overloaded:check. In the ocean: check. Then you see that Waterdream and think, how much did that thing cost?
Pissing about with the film speed is spoiling the site!
Little girl without life vest scream to her dad to stop. Dad, accelerats into an even big head sea. Merica! 😂
Looks like a typical day on Lake Erie to me, lol
Do the waves get worse at the inlets? Or is it like that the whole time you are on the water?
ok after so many video my question is simple better fast or better slow ?
Customs and border has a badass boat.😅
The flare on felicity!
Honest question for the experienced captains in here. Why do some of these captains, especially in the smaller boats, get right into the worst of it and THEN turn around? Like at 3:30. Wouldn't that be about the worst place to turn? And couldn't you just proceed a bit slower if it's too rough for your small boat and passengers to take at higher speed? I do wonder if his passenger might've been hurt there around 3:25 or so, maybe that's why he decided to turn back. I'm a rookie captain myself, albeit in Thailand, but trying to soak up knowledge to keep myself and my friends/family safe out on my boat. Thanks in advance!
They are not Boat owners, they rented the boat for a few hours, that is why their lack of common sense is so apparent. They are just out for a thrill ride.
Ill paddle my kayak through haulover
Hey all you Brave Captains "Its ok to turn back ".
Interesting to note that the small boats turning around are not turning around because the driver wants to get a bigger boat.
That Angler is a small boat...but a great small boat!:
2:31 Spectacular!
Which is best Nortech or midnight express let me know which is better and why😊
I’m blown away at how many people completely ignore the capacity placard of their boats and load it with as many people as they can fit, then go through a rough water lane such as this and not a single life jacket on anyone. It’s not a cool look, it’s a display of ignorance in my opinion.
Not a boater at all, but my question is: are these boat hulls all strong enough to take these big hits after catching air without any damage?
I would say not all of them even if the damage is not apparent. I'd certainly have any boat I owned checked out by a competent yard if I owned a boat that had been out in those conditions.
Wow that sea vee took a pounding but notice how there's no gear on deck flopping around and Throttle control. She's a seasoned captain those are awesome ocean boats as well
4:30: Bet those kids never get on another boat as long as they live!
