jessie j is an absolute boss. also i remember going to a katy perry concert when i was a tween and being disappointed that she didn't sound like her studio songs (shocker, she was dancing, running around and changing costumes), but i appreciate it so much now when singers dont lipsync
Mariah has vocal nodules and had them since she was a kid, she said she found a way to sing around them, her vocals started to get tired over time but she does have some good performances in the latter years too

You are absolutly right about Louis Thomlinson. His "bad" performance was better than some of the good ones. I thought he generally has a good voice with a few small pitch errors. The issue Maria Carrie has is that she will have to recognize that she is no longer the nightingale she ones was, and avoid singing at the heights she was able to do before.

In my opinion, Louis sounds better in clips where he's singing his own solo songs because the songs he wrote are more in his singing range, and in 1d they didn't really match the songs to his singing range so I think that's why the "bad" clip sounds better than the ones where he's singing 1d songs.
Zayn and Harry were the powerhouses on the band, so it's logical that the songwriting team were more focused on their voices rather than Louis or Niall.
I think thats a good point! You still see this in kpop bands where songs are usually written around the falsetto singers/ high note belters.

Okay but they did Louis SO DIRTY. They should've taken more recent clips of solo concerts. During the 1d era he never had an opportunity to shine because he barely ever had solos, and having 5 very different voices it's bound to have songs not fit for someone

She might not have been able to hear herself either, causing the out of tune issues, but the damaged sounding vocals could have been a number of things. She definitely earned her respect back in the day though.

I would imagine that was during a time she was miming. It sounded like one of the ones where someone has tapped into a wireless mic and is picking up the audio of her miming.
It is very hard for singers to keep up with perfect voice. Even a bit cold night can give a bad hoarse voice next day. Cold, sore throat pressure anything and everything can effect a performance
There are SO many better clips of Louis Tomlinson singing. Whoever made that compilation didn't include any recent clips. Sometimes in the past he used to get nervous performing live but his confidence has grown and his voice has improved so much. Just watch his SiriusXM live performance of his songs Too Young and We Made It! Check out his whole livestream concert!!! IT'S AMAZING! People are quick to hate on him because it's trendy, but they don't even give him a chance and haven't checked out his solo performances Also, stream his new album "Walls". It's great!! His voice is personally my favourite out of the whole band :)

@@chumuheha it's not just that, with it being her song, she gets the most lines and time to shine, aswell as it being the most fitting for her style. but that she just gave it so much. her presence and voice took over. nicki minaj isn't always the best on stage and she only had that small rap part, she didn't pull your eyes to her. ariana grande was still in the beginning of finding her footing and her vocal performance did not reach anywhere near jessie's, she also has weak stage presence. jessie is so strong. god, i love her. some people are just made for the stage. that performance was a jessie performance, i wouldn't notice if ari and nicki weren't there. 😅

Taking a video of singing, you can re-do it multiple times until it’s perfect. In real life, you only got 1 try, you mess up once…there’s no re-do button.
I’d rather take bad singing without lip syncing or auto tune than with.

Meh I guess it's kinda hateful envy, they are successful and rich so I don't think that an unknown video on yt will make them any dmg. There are also a lot of talented singers that will never meet fame just because they don't fit in the industry, so a little hate on this singers, deserved or not it's not a big deal.
on a completely unrelated note to roomie, any video compilation of singers that has louis in it, the comments are filled with louis fans. He has the most dedicated fans💙
