  • The spookiest thing about Arteta is that he's so tactically sound that he was being recruited by the best manager in the world while he was still Arsenal captain, Pep literally tried to speed up his process to working with Arteta, thats a ridiculous endorsement of your potential.

And, the team is young, we could see Arsenal go on to fight City for the next 4 - 5 years now. It's time really, Arsenal come up every 20 years or so and start dominating, like a cycle. Done it for nearly 100 years. 13 League Titles.

Tactically they are becoming so so good. I've been in football for a long time and I can read situations in advance and Arteta is doing a fantastic job with this team. • Nah I can't believe anyone will watch or listen to Arteta's interviews and hate or dislike him. Tears in my eyes seeing other team's fans singing his praise and talking about how likeable he is as a coach and a person. To even come to Arsenal at the stage we were in as a young and a rookie coach/manager is remarkable because the environment at the club at that time was setup for the next manager to fail than to succeed. I doubt there are alot of young managers out who knows what they're about like him. This guy has everything planned and knows exactly the results that comes out of what he has planned and put in place. His vision, communication skill, ability to work and/or transform young players, ability to work with his coaching staff as a team and his humbleness says alot about how great a manager he is or will be. I'm so happy I believed and trusted him right from the beginning and also through the difficult times. I wouldn't change him for any manager in the world not even for Pep or Klopp. I hope and dream that one day I will get a chance to work with or have a big conversation to get his ideas and what he thinks of certain things not only as a manager but a human being because the greatness I see in him is beyond just football and if I don't get to work with him or meet him I hope he writes a book with I'll be so happy to get.

Told all my friends and colleagues this guy will take the club back to the top - followed his career closely as half my family are evertonian the other are gunners (i got lucky being from that side!) but one thing we all agree on is what a legend this guy was at both clubs and a natural leader. It's good to see a managed in an intimate setting answering questions that reveal things about the way they think, and where they hope to go. Carragher is a good fit for this. This was a good interview. Short, but full of content.

  • People were crying out for (and some idiots still are) a big name manager like Conte, Tuchel, Allegri etc but I guarantee none of them would have done what Arteta has. They would have come in and force their style and ideas onto the club but they would not have taken the time to completely rebuild the club which what was needed as you look at Spurs and Conte is trying to force his ideas but he’s struggling because the club isn’t in a place where you can just come in and start winning things. People still don’t seem to understand what a rebuild is, starting at the foundations, ripping things up, even things some might not understand why’ like getting rid of Leno who people thought was good enough. Despite the money spent, we are still in the middle of the rebuild. I believe the final phase of his five phase plan will be similar to Man City in having a bench pretty much as good as your starting eleven.

  • Mikel is right - you cannot copy and paste in sports that evolve. The NFL is a great example, it used to be all about rushing yards, running backs, QB's really only ever threw the ball. Now you have Josh Allen, Patrick Maholmes, Justin Fields etc all often running in touchdowns. The Punt returners are nowhere near the Devin Hester level. So in 15 years it's changed a lot. Same as our game, defence is not in the main, by keeping the ball and wearing down the opponent.

A lot of people didn’t like it and started their agendas making fun of him calling him Pep’s cones man etc. and the word project was ridicule but look at him now a rising superstar of a manager and his methods will be used as a blueprint for any team that wants a meaningful rebuild. Got to feel the pain before the gain. UP THE GUNNERS.
