1) My leftover beautiful fabric from a dress will not go to waste. I show you what useful things I have sewn.
This stylish headpiece was once worn by athletes, but is now a great addition to any person's outfit.
The visor itself can be made of any size. The larger it is, the better it protects from the sun.
Today I sewed one for myself, with a wide brim.
For cutting, I took pieces of linen that were left over from a dress I sewed last year.
This fabric is perfect for this purpose.
I used this pattern to cut out this headdress.
An important point when sewing is the rigidity of the visor.
Therefore, it must be reinforced with thick fabric, non-woven fabric or double-lined fabric.
Cutting details: visor 2 pcs., strip 2 pcs.
How to sew:
- Connect the 2 parts of the visor facing inward. Sew and turn onto the face.
- Iron and lay parallel lines, thereby making the visor even tighter.
- Sew two stripes to the visor.
- Fold the top of the strips and stitch.
- There will be an elastic band in the fabric at the back for a tight fit. First sew it in one direction, and then, after trying it on, in the other.
- Instead of elastic, you can use Velcro, then sew strips of fabric.
- In such a visor, the head is ventilated, the face is in the shade. It seems to be on the head and it is as if it is not there.

2) I bring to your attention a collapsible visor cap, which consists of two parts.
The first is a custom-made visor, and the second is a clip-on headscarf.
- First you need to choose the shape of the visor, it can be anything, you can trace it from an old cap.
- You also need to measure the circumference of your head and cut out 2 strips, 4.5 cm wide (this includes allowances).
- Add 4 cm to the resulting length with Velcro, round the edges.
- The cut details were reinforced with non-woven fabric.
- In order for the visor to better hold its shape, you need to cut out another rigid part.
- I stitched all 3 layers of the visor, cut off the excess fabric and turned it inside out. I placed a finishing stitch along the edge.
- I stitched one strip to the visor, then another. I folded the open part and put a finishing stitch on all sides.
- I attached Velcro along the edges.
- I sewed 9 buttons on the headband at equal distances.
- Now the second detail. I placed the cotton fabric in a triangle and cut out the scarf according to the pattern. The width should match the length of the bar.
- I smoothed the interlining onto the edge of the scarf, turned it over and stitched it. That's how it happened.
- I made loops opposite the buttons. Instead of buttons, you can sew buttons.

With one movement of the hand, the visor turns into a scarf or cap.
Now, when the sun is shining, you don’t have to squint your eyes, there’s a shadow on your face, a scarf on the top of your head, and it also looks perky and stylish.
3) I propose to sew an interesting model for the summer. The pattern is so precise and simple that sewing takes about an hour. The pattern already has allowances.
The cap consists of three parts - a circle, a visor and an elastic band. If desired, all these parts can be cut from different colors of fabric. White cotton and stitching will look very elegant.
For the circle you need to prepare a piece of fabric 40x40 cm, for this you fold it into 4 parts and measure 20 cm from the center, round the line and cut it out.
For the back you need a strip of fabric 65x6 cm.
For the visor you need to prepare a piece of fabric 14x37 cm, fold it in four and transfer the pattern. For rigidity, I smoothed a piece of non-woven fabric onto the visor.
How to sew:
- Fold the back strip in half lengthwise and stitch along the fold line.
- I prepared a piece of elastic 20 cm long, sewed another line for it, and it turned out to be a drawstring. I inserted an elastic band into it and secured it with stitches along the edges.
- I folded the visor in half and put a sewn elastic band inside on both sides and stitched it. Turned it inside out. This is what it looks like.
- I made 4 notches on the circle. On one side of the semicircle I made 4 folds towards each other, pinned them and stitched them. The visor will be sewn to this part.
- I connected the circle and the visor with an elastic band, overcast the edge, and made a finishing stitch on the front side.
Ready!
The result is an unusual and very comfortable hat with a visor.
