  • When watching these videos, I keep the 24 inch diameter globe I have handy to review the ,.locations being referred to in the videos. That slowly improves my understanding and recognition of the complex geography of the south Pacific area, and improves my understanding of what is being discussed. I find that a regular atlas of maps doesn't cut it for this purpose. A globe is the way to go.

    • I Googled places often enough when I didn't recognize them or have a good idea where they were. Also gives additional history of what happened before and since. But I also found the globe useful for getting a "global" perspective. What doesn't work well is just skipping over the place names with little understanding of the geography of the conflict and campaigns. Thanks for your comment.

  • I am guessing that the procurement of the Royal Hawaiian hotel for the use of submarine crews was probably a considerable morale booster and recognition of the efforts and sacrifices of submarine crews. Nice touch by the US Navy. I wonder if that was reflected at all in the fact that Nimitz had been a submariner early in his naval career?

    • P38s were dispatched when the code was broken and his movements and stops on his inspection of his forward bases. He was shot down and so was his staff in the two bombers that were attacked with no survivors. This makes Yamamoto a great loss for the IJN.

  • It's incredible the amount of resources, mainly submarines, that the Japanese put into the defense of Attu. Attu is perhaps the most useless place that the Japanese conquered. Of course there was also Kiska.

    • Because names were given and used to get the ship a recognition, to boost it in reputation, to raise the morale on your side and curb it down on the opponent's side. Undersea bosts on the contrary, are supposed to be secret, unkown, hard to determine are they in port or on a patrol. Not the sole reason, but an important one.

  • Yo I just gotta say it’s dope, from a white guys perspective (not mayo white, I did hold a hood pass with the rollin 60’s back when…. Anyhow back to my point. This video perfectly personifies much of the thread of thought that runs through the black community. The reactions says it all. The brothas are an emotional group, I admire it, it keep shit live, but shows that corporate American can’t fool em. Drakes light skinnded, and his religious background already making cat side eye. But you can really tell that he sucked out so much of the energy of this movement. When the scene gets someone truly talented they pushed out or killed, then you get these serpents that want to culture vulture. This dude makes Vlad look like Malcolm X lol . Anyways, this is getting too long. Nothing but respect for y’all. Let’s keep this movement going. Remember when Tribe, Digable P, KRSOne, and J5 came with that positivity tip? Now we have Drill rap. Pop Rap. Stripper Rap. It’s all poison pill for your community. I know y’all know that. We should be talking to people like Clive Davis,, David Geffin and others. They turned your own people against yourself., just for money And a lot of times supply BBC no questions asked

    • A tilt to one side on any vessel is a list, a boat is said to be listing with a lean to port or starboard, but not fore and aft, which are described separately as down by the stem, or down by the bow. Your vessel can experience both, listing sharply to port and down by the stern...

    • PT boat strategy is the principle doctrine for the current Iranian Navy using speed boats but with guidance tech where it is, requires smaller craft to achieve the same effect as the Ukrainian reports you referenced. This shows the old adage that the same strategy can't be used twice in the same way.

  • Why did the Japanese Navy lose so many subs operationally?

    @richardtardo5170@richardtardo517025 күн бұрын
    • They weren't being used in their best practices. Use subs for shipping stuff, instead of sinking enemy merchant ships, and you'll lose those subs that are acting like merchant ships.

You're not adding any value to the original work. What was the name of the original author? His name should have been highlighted.
