This song Mess with me, cause I liked my friend for almost 7 years, we had an amazing connection since the first day we met, she was the one who introduced me to rex orange county for the first time (he became my favorite singer until today), I would listen to the songs and think her and wondered if she felt the same way about me. When I was 15 we went to a party together and I felt that there was an atmosphere between us, after that we started talking like never before, every day and every moment, when I didn't talk to her I expected her message to arrive. Until one day I plucked up the courage and declared myself to her, I wrote I love you in Malay and sent it, my heart was racing. When she translated what I had sent she was in shock (she was ready to throw me down the stairs) after being silent for a while she said that she loved me too and that she couldn't believe this was happening. She told me that she always loved me and listened to rex's songs thinking about me (JUST LIKE I DID). These were the best months of my life, every time we said I love you to each other my heart raced and I went into shock. We were sure that we were each other's soul mates and that we were going to get married. But our parents didn't like each other so they wouldn't accept our dating, they even took away her cell phone so she wouldn't talk to me. But I never gave up, for me no matter how many years passed I would wait for her. Until one day she wanted to break up, (later I found out that she met someone else, which was easier for her since there wasn't so much distance, and her parents supported her.) She asked us to continue being friends, as before. But I proudly refused, saying I couldn't be friends with someone I loved so much. and in the end I wondered if she felt the same as me. But I'm glad I had the chance to live it and have my love returned, even having that ending, it was one of the things I wanted the most

Hey. Lots of people probs wont see this but I kinda wanna share my story here sooooo. Shes my best friend. Shes also straight. I actually told her I liked her because usually when I tell my crushes I like them, I get over them. She rejected me as nice as she could and I thought I would get over her. I didnt. We're cool now tho and she doesnt know I still like her. Things are going smoothly until she tells me she has a crush on some other guy. I play it cool for her but inside I'm kinda heartbroken. She asks me for advice about him. Since im her friend I give advice to her. She gets a lot closer with the guy she likes and I'm just on the sidelines. So I basically just helped my crush get with someone else. I know I did this to myself and it's my fault. But I still love her. Whenever I listen to this song I start crying. Everyone is talking about their best friends and how they left them. While I’m out here crying because my best friend was my dog. I grew up with her. She was 16 when she passed away. This song makes me remember her for some reason.
