I genuinely was happy that Brighton brought the game to us. It was surprisingly feisty for the first half especially. I think we earned that win against a really talented team.
Ramsey also missed a golden chance in the 2nd half from a Bailey cut back from the right. Ramsey was classy, electric, and excellent yesterday and fully deserved the MOTM award. UTV

Where I sit, just Holte end side of the lower trinity, because i played and coached there's been ALOT of times I've hollered at McGinn, JJ Cash, Digne when I've seen they've lost somebody down the line and they've heard it. Not once yesterday did I need to with Digne. He was SUPERB.
Great comment. I thought Digne has really stepped up the last few games. And I wonder if he continues to improve if he changes Emery's mind about him being a good fit. I think he offers something a little different to Moreno that is useful to have depending on who we play.
Totally agree with you Dan about Kamara in tight spaces. Best Villa player I’ve seen do that since Barry. His ability to turn on the ball with his back to defenders is so important for us starting attacks from deep.
Great point about staying with the manager when things don’t go right. Next year, many teams have had prob with Thur /Sunday.. We have to stay with it if it gets tricky… Hope Unai keeps the youth players in mind, the youth set up is an asset … From relegation form to Europe, what a run …Congrats to everyone at the club and the fans !!

@RA_Vencher26 Them going all out means nothing. Villa owns them recently the same way Wolves own Villa. Styles make fight. Villa played them 3 times this season, 2 prem games, and a friendly. They didn't win any. What they decided not to go all out in 3 games?

One thing no one is talking about is how we nearly went bankrupt as a club under the previous regime. That's how much of a journey the fans have been on since the new ownership and it gives context and legitimacy to our excitement about these improvements and this opportunity that Unai has evolved. One of the exciting things for me is not so much the phases or patterns of play i do like them but its the fact teams know what were going to do but Can't do a Thing about it ! we can look back on the season but for me the goal by Traore against Leicester gave us the hope that Europe was possible, that Traore goal effectively got us into Europe

We need Digne next year. Such a great player off the bench or a player to split time with Moreno. No ego at all. Total leader on the field. A true professional. Diego Carlos may potentially be gone along with Philippe Coutinho. Not sure of their contract status, just wondering if Villa has other plans. We need a back up for Konsa or maybe we get someone for Konsa to back up. Defense is so important to Emery's system. We can't be thin there. Buendia could potentially be gone. Duran may be transferred out. I expect a big summer signing spree for depth... starters and bench players.
why on earth would carlos be sent on his way?
I'd be certainly looking to put Duran out on loan, he's miles off it in the Premiership at the moment, loan him out and now integrate Archer, if not then sell Archer

When Villans that are starting to go grey say that they've never seen a better Villa team it just reminds me of how old I am! I have witnessed Villa be English and European champions, but it's been so long ago that this feels like a Villa reboot. I believe we're equal top scorers in the PL in the first 15 with 13 goals. I forget we're tied with but we're join top.
I don’t think conference league means much to players incoming. The premier league is the place to be. The conference league shows our project is growing. There are probably only 10-15 teams in Europe more compelling a destination than Villa right now. I think we can punch high with transfers.
Great show and thank you for the content you’ve provided this season Dan. I have to disagree with Max on Brighton, I thought they gave it a really good go and the bad tempered reactions to decisions by many of their players typified this, along with their general play. Given our home goals conceded record I didn’t see us letting them get a second, we just don’t seem to do that at the moment.

Where off to Europe Baby ... KUMON... I look at how we are and how Newcastle are.. Villa are small steps upwards and leave no stone unturned where Newcastle are blast into the top 4 with no under belly. In 5 years time Villa will be top 4 with trophies where Newcastle will be bouncing in or out top 6 floating on thin ice and called the also rans. The difference in setup and structure between the 2 teams is night and day. Villa are softly gently catch the monkey, where Newcastle have brought the Saudi's in( for which l have no problem with) with the idea of garnishing instant success in the same vain as Man C, it cannot happen, too many areas are missed in the process where a solid structure and plan is mainly adhoc, everything is on the fly, if you look at that, it's how it feels with Newcastle.
