No one has ever said that title before
Despite neverending stressful pain during the playthrough and very luck dependant gameplay with hard difficulty even on normal mode, Darkest Dungeon is one of the best games I played in 2021 so far
I had so much fun in it
So much that I decided to play it on hard mode after finishing it on normal
Yes, I hate my life
And it's not the last video about it
Also, I'm excited for Darkest Dungeon 2 and I hope it'll be even better
Stay tuned
Next video will probably be a review (for real this time)

Darkest Dungeon is a role-playing video game developed by Red Hook Studios and published by Merge Games. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows and OS X in January 2016, which followed a year-long early access development period. Later that year, it was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Linux, with ports for iOS being released in 2017, and Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One being released by 2018.
Darkest Dungeon has the player manage a roster of heroes to explore dungeons below a gothic mansion the player has inherited. Played out in a mix of real-time movement and turn-based combat, a core feature of Darkest Dungeon is the stress level of each hero that increases with further exploration and combat; a character sustaining a high-stress level may gain afflictions that will hamper, or possibly enhance, their performance as an explorer. The game received positive reviews from critics, garnering several award nominations, and went on to sell over two million copies. A sequel was announced in February 2019. A Board game adaptation is currently in development.
I had a crusader who got Virtuous four times, the last time being in a ruins crawl gone horribly wrong. Everyone kept getting hit by traps, I kept on missing, it was just awful, but then, at the very last battle, as he stands alone, he is pushed to 100 stress and turns Virtuous, and the suddenly the numbers are in my favour, three to one victory against skeleboys and a clawboy, more or less zero stress due to all his crits after going virtuous, it was just... Amazing. I retired him, never used him again when I got back. I would just send him to church every now and then. Couldn't risk losing my boy after he fought so bravely to get home.
A story of legend
Wow. That is no doubt a touching story.
I once had a similar thing happen. It was the first darkest dungeon quest to kill the shuffling horror, three of four heroes had died, one before the fight even began, and the last crusader was at deaths door. He slew the horror, leaving just him and the final priest. He endured the first hit, dodged the second, and with one last hit, virtuous despite the face of death staring him down, he slew the priest. The relief I had felt then was like nothing I had felt before. I rarely sent him out after that, only when the level restrictions were lifted so he could help the newer folk, so that they may never fall as his companions did.

Haha fuck yeah man
Darkest dungeon hurts so much because it feels like you failed them. The ones you helped builded, the ones you guided, and the ones you inevitably failed. But that's why the victories are the more rewarding, overcoming challenges that defeated you in the past. Seeing your own rise up and defeat the nightmares that plauge your venerable home.
Yeah unless those mfs get afflicted and start acting dumb then they can eat all the crits they want
@@jahredharrison4069 the duality of man
I swear this game and xcom make me shed tears
That is so true bro that that I got so stressed I uninstalled the game. And how I'm going to finish it despite the stress
My soldiers are but fodder for the meat grinder. I have a rule where I won’t name them until they hit level six and EARN their name. Otherwise they are just numbers.
Underrated.
Overrated

Truly!
Sooooo true
I always feel embarrassed for the enemies that somehow manage to miss my Leper. Most of the time his trinkets negate his dodge so he's pretty much just standing there waiting to get hit. And yet they still miss
And then he just smiles menacingly as he cuts them down?
Once I was against the Hag Witch. I had a lvl 6 Leper that gave it his all and got targeted by the hag. He died honorably in battle. I was pretty sad for him, he was my man. But then. Then thanks to the resurrection town event I got him back. He was stronger than ever, so strong that even death couldn’t beat him. Norman destroyed the Heart of Darkness togheter with the Highwayman Meri, the Plague Doctor Quincey and the Vestal Towle. He died of leprosy soon after and will always be remembered.
Never in my life have I seen a more accurate representation of the shambling altar.
Most relatable clip ever
"All clips you'll see are on the hardest difficulty" "DLC installed" *picks stygian difficulty Me: he played us like a damn fiddle
There's a mode harder than stygian?
@@KreamPieJoyJ with the crimson court you get the bloodmoon difficulty, which is basically stygian but with having to deal with the crimson curse, the court and the fanatic. There are no new modifiers, but stygian is chill compared to the traumatic experience that is bloodmoon.
Does it activate after turning on the crimson court DLC or it's a separate thing? Because I had Crimson Court turned off during the stygian playthrough so I'm wondering if I missed it or it's another thing Epic Games version is missing
@@KreamPieJoyJ upon turning on CC on the save, Stygian will immediately change into Bloodmoon
@@KreamPieJoyJ Doge is correct, but if you want the complete bloodmoon experience I suggest you start a new estate, trust me you'll have a lot of material for your videos. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your meme-reinforced excursions into the darkest dungeon first.
Is darkest dungeon hard? no. Is it easy? no. Is it balancede? hell NO! But is it a challenging experience that makes victory feel amazing? YES.
Now that's Bluntly honest
I don't agree. It's fun at first, but all the negative statuses you have to clear start to feel like a part time job more than a challenge. That combined with the fact that it is not balanced at all as you stated makes this game a hard pass.
@@OWlsfordshire Who said it was unbalanced towards the player?
I think the is unbalanced but by design
Seeing this after losing my champion PD and closing the game for a while and now I'm wanting to play again, I wonder if I'm a bit masochistic for liking this game so much lol
Maybe it's worth a shot again
When i lost my first hero, the trauma doesn't just affect the characters, it also affects me, the player. I left the game for a year before finally coming back to continue. I guess my resolve level wasn't enough the first time
Same bro
4:57 hypest part. HEAVY 8 from the antiquarian
me going straight to the darkest dungeon after completing the tutorial
Heart atack on campfire killed me XDDDDDD (btw i suggest put little less memes, M.O.R.E narrator
Imagine if you are about to go to bed, but then you hear something move around your room and you die by heart attack, bro.
it's called roommate od siblings XD
Or even better, narrator memes and bass boosted ancestor quotes. But remember, overconfodence Is a slow and insidious killer
@@sheenovh1182 Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious Killer
A brilliant confluence of skill and purpose my friend!) That is awesome! 👏
Thank you, these kind of videos motivated me not to quit the game and understand that I am a complete noob. I was in despair. Just finished it, it was an unforgettable experience with a storm of emotions. Good luck(RNG) to everyone in the game)
Masterpiece. Memes. Sense of humor. Sound design. Montage. Pure genius. Thank you for your content. Im definitely subscribing and looking forward for next part.
This is surprisingly high quality for a channel your size. Excellent job. That being said, welcome to the Darkest Dungeon Experience.
I have more than 300h in this game, completed all difficulties with vanilla classes and also only modded classes runs. To this day I haven't been able to defeat the fanatic and I still run away if I see his face in the loading screen
even if you'd never played the game before this would be a fun watch, but having played it... you understand. The suffering. The loss. The time investment in an indestructable tank just to have that same tank get crit for LITERALLY ITS ENTIRE HEALTH POOL IN ONE HIT.
You have no clue how happy I am to find this legendary channel, RECENT darkest dungeon videos, AND they fucking gold? You’ll be at 100k subs in no time this shit is amazing
Holy moly, these 100k views happened so fast that I can't even express how awesome it is and how much I'm thankful I'm doing my best in finishing and uploading part 2 before the end of July so stay tuned (It'll be longer than part 1)
Well to be honest, this is superior content!
In my first walkthrough of this game (darkest difficulty) ALL OF MY HEROES after 100 stress were becoming inspired focused (like 10 times in a row). So then i thought it's a good thing to stuck up stress....you can see where i'm going. I failed miserably loosing all of my crazy desperate 200 stress guys from a heartbreak. Truly a gaming masterpiece.
The best Edit I've seen, enjoyed to a great extend, thank you!
Glad this was in my recommended videos. The montage at the end was epic!
Really enjoyed this one , looking forward to the second part
Great video, thanks yt recommendation. Cant wait to see part 2

laughed so hard, love the edits!
That's some God Teir editing bruh. Instant sub.
I didn't even know the game and I felt every single death and meme. Amazing video!
Oh this is the good shit. It’s been so long since I last found a new source of quality DD edits

Just finished Darkest Dungeon, and while watching some gameplay videos today I found yours. +1 Sub, hope you continue with funny DD content.
man i shit you not I had to take a break and get some water because my mouth dried from laughing so much. this is so ridiculously well done.
This might be the best Darkest Dungeon video out there
Good video good edits lol always glad to see more good DD content
I hate this game but I love to watch others suffer from it.
Great video ma guy, subbed and like, see ya in the second part!
Against siren a good idea is to use eldritch only damage increasing trinkets. Also be sure to not equip stuns or guard skills before entering the fight. Great video as always.
Mob: * misses Leper * Leper: You had one job, and I am not even moving, only T-posing. Like, I am ready to die and stuff you know? Gonna die anyway, so can you... you know... actually try to be useful? Emotional damage 100, mob dies of heart attack, victory is ours!
Love your edition on this vid hahaha ♥
Great vid; the part where you reversed from the Shambler's altar is my favourite. I'm currently on my first Stygian run so to speak. Having started off with numerous Kleptomaniac/Curious/Compulsive heroes from the get-go and not a single Antiquarian, I'm pretty sure my run will end well :/
Fight till the end, maybe the luck will come one week And if not - live to fight another day
You had my curiosity but now, you have my attention
This video should be a national treasure. Memes, death, ancestor quotes abound!
Entertaining video my dude. Good job.
THIS WAS SO WELL DONE

Yeah and The thing from stars is waiting around the corner
Good job, i enjoyed this
That was epic!!! The second part please!
Heck, I love this community, can't wait for DD2
Absolute god tier content! Now all we need is a list of the music used (PLEASE!) (Especially the music during the flashback bit and the epic montage at the end)
The music that sound during the Hellion flashback is a song from the Lord of the Rings OST, altough i cant remember the exact title of it, sorry xD
Song from final montage is Dragon Castle by Makai Symphony
The flashback one is "vietnam flashback music"
@@KreamPieJoyJ oh wow, you actually responded! Thank you so much! :D
Vietnam flaahback song is "bridge of khazad dum" by howard shore
wooow, that was cool, i loved wvery part of this video, still im not whatching the second video until i get to the darkest dungeon in my own game. :)
The edits are godlike
Holy moly those are some good edits
Of all the ways a video game can make you feel bad darkest has the best, you like these characters and you value them, you spend all this time training them up, and then you slip up. Be it greed at seeing a shambler altar or a short lapse of judgement you kill your characters one by one, and you have no one to point to but yourself “if only I brought a shovel they wouldn’t have been so stressed”, “damn I wish I had equipped different trinkets”, “why did I attack instead of stun? I could’ve saved reynauld!” Truly a tale of woe is the life of a dd player, though a rewarding one given a focused mind
Thank you)))) it was very funny, I'm waiting for more DD videos.

Sir, you have earned a sub
Amazing. Subscribed.
I can’t believe I never tried DD sooner. I’m about 80 weeks into my first campaign, and I’m loving it-the same boss wiped two squads of 5s and 6s one after the other, and I lost all my best trinkets.
Respect for anyone who brings the Ant to a boss battle
WOW Masterpiece Edit.
First time seeing this game and I clicked on this video. I am now prepared to face the dungeons that wait for me.
I recently made a mistake, misregarding the deadly stress combo over my entire team. When I should have healed in order to get my hero out of Death's Door, before attempting to retreat, I attempted to retreat, wich led to a massive stress escalation : 3 successive dead people, because of one first heart attack. At least, I know the reason for that mistake.
Looks like the rng gods were on your side...most of the time
Awesome vid! Thx!
Thats a clean montage
I don't even remember a single vestal from my roster being virtuous
solid editing
I love it, I want the 2nd part
