    • @@cjensan how about some Kjet tuning tips, searching for vacuum leaks and setting timing?

      @TTjustTT@TTjustTT3 жыл бұрын
    • On the 16V cars its always needed to replace the rubber boots that connect the runners to the plenum as well as the throttle body to the plenum. Past that you can pressurize the intake system to 3-5 psi and then spray around the intake and hoses with soapy water. Any leaks will produce lots of bubbles. Setting the timing should be done with the vacuum taken off the distributor and the engine brought to 3k rpm. You should then have roughly 31 deg advance is what they respond to the best

  • Totally Pro !! The only rational way to work on a 928 engine...is on a STAND !!! Is there a tilt forward full front clip for these??

  • You’re like my new best friend! Lol. I’ve always wondered if 16v heads would fit 5.0 block. Did you use the pistons that came with the 5.0, or did you get new ones to cut in the valve relief? What compression ratio would this conversion have on ‘79 Euro (non - “S”) heads? Could you also stroke the ‘85/‘86 5.0 without sleeves? If so, out to how many liters?

    @justinlafever5653@justinlafever56532 жыл бұрын
    • The pistons had valve reliefs cut into the pistons. The result is roughly 11:1 CR. The euro heads may be a little higher CR. You can add a stroker crank and that would take you out to roughly 6L. You will absolutely want to have custom connecting rods made with the factory offsets to the rods made to minimize side loading of the pistons.

  • hey i have a 78 as well. what exactly do i need to do to the pistons/short block on the 5.0L to do this set up? thanks

    @josephward8826@josephward88263 жыл бұрын
    • You need a 1985/6 5L short block. You then need to flycut the pistons a little for valve reliefs. It must be the 85/86 as the S4 woild result in much lower CR and does not have the standoffs for holding the intake manifold. If you are wanting to do this you should consider either doing wet sleeves or nikasiling the block and running custom light pistons, as well to give you a better setup.

    • @@cjensan Thanks, I was hoping I might be able to bolt the heads to an s4 block.

      @stevelowe3747@stevelowe37473 жыл бұрын
    • You can put them on an S4. But you will get lower CR, and the S4 block doesnt have the 2 stands in the middle of the V to hold the intake setup. The 85/86 results in better CR for power.

  • Hey how do I pressurize the intake manifold on my 16v to check for leaks. What tools do I need to pressurize the intake and where do I do it. Thanks

    @CxJason@CxJason3 жыл бұрын
    • There are many ways to do it. On a CIS car I would put in air on the hose that feeds the brake booster. You will need to make sure your throttle blade is fully closed and you will need to ensure that the idle bleed screw is close so you see you least losses possible. From there you will need to use soapy water to check for leaks

    • I am located outside of 100 mile house in BC canada. The 85/86 dual dizzy euro engines are fun engines for sure. You can use that top end on a 85/86 us bottom end with fly cutting the pistons to have a good setup with nice power.
