The No. 16 Florida State Seminoles held on to defeat the Florida Gators, 45-38, on Friday. Seminoles QB Jordan Travis threw for 270 YDS & 1 TD and rushed for another 83 YDS in the victory.

As a Seminole fan, I don't think I can give you any trash talk. It was a great game that really could have gone either way and both teams played hard. Stats were pretty even. Honestly... I think we got lucky.

I have been a FSU fan since late 70's watched Bobby build the program and hoping it will rise again. Have to start by competing in the ACC year after year for a title and this year is a def step toward that but we did play a 6-5 Florida team that is average in the SEC and Vandy just beat them and they missing a ton of wideouts. My point is I will take a win any day against the Gators but we got a long way to go to compete on a national level with the big boys but I do think it can be done. GO NOLES!!!
@@wmrat1969 It was a rivalry game. They can always end up tough. We have an offense thats in the top ten in any category. We can play with anyone. Georgia almost lost to Missouri. Ohio State almost loses to no bodies all the time.

Being a UGA fan I can honestly say that Travis is one of the best in the country for sure and it's gonna be a great season next year. Hopefully we will be able to see them play each other it's been a long time since I seen that match up. Great game by both teams and well done travis and Benson y'all carried them on your back this year.
I feel Florida State will be back as an elite program in College Football like it used to be, it is really a SEC atmosphere down there.

How about them Seminoles and Coach Mike. The growth of this team is so evident and the composure and cohesion is a beautiful thing to watch. This is a team that cares about each other and the goals they all share. Lastly how about Travis. This guy has come so far. He outdueled AR and is a true leader. FSU is the best team in the ACC at this time. Should get a major bowl.

Facemask should've been called.. but the penalty shouldn't decide it anyway. UF mostly kept up, but FSU seemed to move the ball with less effort. Good win for FSU. Solid team.
The PI on 4th and forever shouldn’t of been called though it seemed like a makeup call to not throw the flag. The back judge threw the flag and couldn’t even see the play 😂

@@SunshineSneakersandStreetwear It was a pass interference. You can't wrap a receiver's arm before the ball arrives, and that stopped him from catching it. Also, the previous play was an uncalled PI

Congrats to FSU. Travis just has a feel for the game that Richardson does not. He never knows when to keep and run or scramble when he sees nobody open. With Johnson and Etienne plus Richardson at 230lbs running 4.4 this run game could of been really potent if used right.

You get it, Richardson is always a sec or two too late on his read to scramble, potential ceiling wasted all year. Want to see him improve it and be great but he should probably just enter the draft for safety, Florida’s ready to switch to a consistent passing qb, Kitna or Miller

I was an assistant coach on the little league football team that #3 Trell Benson played on . He was a shy lil kid that turned into a beast
I watched this game in person and the stadium was hectic. Can’t wait to go to another game in the future.
That PI call the kept the game alive for UF at the end was the worst call I've seen all year. Refs 100% ignored that face mask call later on because they realized they messed up. The ref right at the sideline even called in incomplete.
No, they didn't "messed up" the DB hooked the WR's right arm and got there early on top of that so, yes it was a good call.

Huge FSU fan, glad to see a good game. Florida is no push over, they have been in every game this year and anyone that plays the gators has to bring their A game. This was good for both teams, I hope both teams and fans see what this game means for college football.

Great win Noles and "State Champs!" FSU becoming "state Champs" is a major milestone for this team. That accomplishment only happen 15 times in FSU History. One of best Fsu vs Florida games, I witness in my life time. I see people complaining about the facemask. Look like QB and DB grab each other facemask simultaneously. So if called,the penalties probably would have offset Great season Noles! Win the bowl game!
If FSU had just covered UF's one healthy receiver in the first half we win by 3 touchdowns. We had starting safety Dent out and haven't been tested in the secondary much lately.

Long time Gator fan here. This back and forth struggle was definitely a great contest. The FSU quarterback was great. The Gator defense still sucks though... poor tackling, poor time management and penalties did not help. The officiating was not good. For a rebuilding year, the Gators are progressing. I seem to remember Norvell's first year as less then inspiring! LOL. As the old saying goes... wait until next year!

People always say the Big 12 doesn't play defense ... well .. doesn't look like the ACC does either.... outside a handful of matches, SEC doesn't play much themselves. I think people need to realize that football at the college level, is more about offensive showcasing. These are young men that are still growing. The NFL is where the defense lies.... because that's when the men reach their physical prime. Even the best defenses in FBS seem to allow more points than they should.

There was 0 hype preseason for UF. We all knew it was a rebuild year. Plus 5 of our wide receivers and our TE were out. Our leading tackler was out and our best defensive player was out the first half. AND WE STILL ALMOST WON! GO GATORS!

Time flies when you are having fun. I remember the first week of the season. When FSU barely beat LSU and Gators barely beat Utah. FSU overcame two SEC teams. They are pretty legit. Can not wait to see what they can do next season.
