Here is a case of two groups of criminals who fought and two ended up dead. Iyeyu aigona kunge ariiye akafa. I blame the ministry of mines who failed to come up with regulations that would deter people from engaging in illegal mining. We had well established mines like golden valley, Dalny mine, Venice mine, Patchway mine, Bromton mine, Rio Tinto and these were gold mines which employed our people and none of this was heard of. Blame the legislators, blame those in authority. Our people should have marched to the ministries concerned and force then to put a stop to this. Incarceration of a teenager for 46 years does not help in anyway to stop this barbaric behavior. The leadership has a whole lot of hardwork to address this. 46 years should be handed to those in authority who created this situation to exist. He needs presidential pardon, come out of jail, work and pay ( not by jail term) according to our culture and tradition.
And nw this illegal mining they end up digging under homes and schools and they collapse which is sad

My opinion is that this guy committed a double murder, as a result of self defence. Indeed, some may argue that he is lying...he is seeking sympathy, amnesty etc... All of which are valid points. However, the way that he narrated his story makes me think otherwise. His description of the struggle that led him to commit the crime, which includes the several cuts as a result of the fight, and his demeanour, appear to fit the story. Besides that this young man was a minor when he committed this crime. Why then was he not persecuted in juvenile courts..I do genuinely believe that he has learned his lesson, and has reformed. Hence his emphasis to educate, and strongly warn others to never get involved in such. Having said this, I am in no shape or form condoning what he did, and the loss, and pain to the families of the victims, and finally his own family. My condolences to the families that lost the 2 men. Its hard to forgive such a crime....However, how are we as humans better by persecuting him for the rest of his ife. As it is, even if he's released from prison soon, he is in his own prison for the rest of his life. His family should try and find it in their hearts to forgive this young man. Forgiving does not equate to condoning the unthinkable act that he committed🤷♀️. It simply says that as people we all do mess up at times, some more than others as in this case. However, the sinner is still a human being. Even seeing or communicating with him once in a while is better that totally disowning him as he states in this interview. May God help us all😪🙏.

Poor lil guy. I have prayed that God would grant him amnesty so he can return to take care of his mom and sister. He was doing what his childhood friends did not, ie he went to work daily to earn an income instead of stealing like his gang friends. He got attacked by bullies at his work physically, and fought to save his life. Condolences to the families of the bullies who died in the process of little guy trying to fight his way to safety. He is a kid and his torment started when he was running from the crime scene asking himself if it's true that he's killed his attackers and ended their God-given breath? So sorry that this lil guy had to experience this. I don't think he'll ever assault another person ever even with a slap; you heard him pleading with the audience to just take the punches and walk away instead of fighting and risk killing another human being. Praying for his amnesty. Zimbabwe is a City of Refuge. May he find another way to serve his time other than 46yrs in jail.

If truly what he is saying was presented in a competent court of law I see like there wasn't going to be a conviction warranting a sentence of 46 years. Come what may if he had failed to kill his opponents definitely he would have died. He had no option but to defend himself out of the situation. This was culpable homicide not murder and he acknowledges he was wrong
It's actually murder just it's not first degree but it's in fact second degree murder because it was not premeditated nor was there clear intention to kill. It is also not culpable homicide because he clearly intended to hurt when he swung his weapon(it's the degree and reason for hurt that is debatable) but he clearly wanted to inflict some hurt as a defensive move as he was under attack. Culpable homicide would be for example a drunk driver killing someone(accidental and unintended). There is no intention to kill but there is gross negligence and no precautions were taken to avoid.
