Any similarities are random. In this video I show you step by step how to draw on metal. SIMPLE tech. The drawing was made using artistic electrochemical metal etching and engraving. The video is accompanied by pleasant music. I wish you pleasant viewing.

  • I'm not going to lie, I thought this was going to be the definition of click-bait and when the robotic voice came in I felt like I was right. But then you started actually doing what you intending on doing and this video went into a completely different direction. What pure artistry here. My god, the patience that it took to shade that piece in is astounding. You did a great job, and no pun intended, you've shocked the hell out of me.

  • This is NOT easy to make at home, this is art! But, true, the technique is easy, and even somebody that is not so skilled in art can put a name or simple drawing on metal this way. Great work, true artist!

    • Step 1 - buy cheap laser engraver Step 2 - cover your item with paint Step 3 - Use AI to create a unique artwork Step 4 - obliterate the paint on your item with the laser engraver Step 5 - "etch" the exposed design using chemical etching Step 6 - rinse clean and admire (I have not tried this but in theory should work).

    • There is a Chinese painting technique that uses ``4-step monotone''. In addition to metal etching techniques, you need the basics of drawing such pictures.

  • Absolutely stunning work. You have developed your skill and technique to a master level utilizing the etching in different layers and stippling with the patience of a monk. All of your steps together brought depth and dimension to the picture that takes a great amount of skill to draw in the first place. You truly have the eye of an artist and the hands of a craftsman.

  • I had no idea you could use a power supply for that. I actually have a couple of those lying around. I love the effect from the stippling- it gives the image depth. So simple, yet it makes such a difference. Thanks for posting!

    • In other news: a KZhead commenter by the name of jimcorbett3764 electrocuted himself by trying to create knife art. Remember, it's not the volts that do the trick, it's the amps. I'm not saying don't do it, but know darn well what you are doing when messing around with electrical devices beyond its intentional use. Stay safe.

    • Спасибо. Воронить не получится, это нержавеющая сталь. Я подкрашиваю художественной масляной краской. Она проникает во все поры на травленных участках металла и после высыхания практически не вымывается.
