So I watched T-34 on KZhead a while back. I thoroughly enjoyed it for it's hot and greasy tank action, but something about it didn't quite sit right with me. I couldn't put my finger on it until yesterday, at which point I got to work on this. T-34's Bridge Duel as it should have been!

    • You're actually comparing this to fury lol I'm pretty sure on that scene where it didn't pen the front hull of the T-34 was not impossible, since it might have hit either the machine Gunner's port or the driver's hatch, which are angled and are about 75mm in thickness, the driver's hatch is absolutely invincible my dude.

    • That isn't awesomeness, that's just dumb. Haha let's make the tank swerve and use nauseating camera cutting and angles to make it look like it's doing it faster than it should, while the entire thing still would've resulted in the T-34s destruction anyways, because it would've been really easy to hit regardless. Also, let's put it after a scene where it was vulnerable and relatively stationary for multiple seconds and wasn't shot anyways.

I mean sure, if it's not gonna be realistic, might as well make it look cool, but is a tank just swerving really all that cool? I'm just questioning if that is really what holds up to the descriptor of "pure, distilled awesomeness". You do you, feel free, but a tank literally just swerving left to right doesn't exactly inspire awe or impressiveness, does it? You apparently think so, and that's fine, I'm, just disagreeing.     • @@maxdwyer8761 if it was realistic there would be no movie. So I apreciate the cinematic directory. At least we have some cool tank battles to watch. Even in fury we all know the tiger would have just triversed instead of just moving it's turret but if it did that again no movie. And no a tank swerving isn't that cool but it keeps you on the edge of your seat like it's supposed to. To explain to someone why the movie isn't cool to someone who thinks it's cool is kind of a dick move. Just saying. If you think it sucked that's alright but don't go down here just to tell someone why you think they are wrong. I'm not disagreeing with you and I'm not agreeing with you. The movie had its fair shere of cool stuff. But it also had its fair shere of not so cool stuff. All around it was just meh movie. Anyway I'm leaving it there I'm starting to annoy myself at this point.

  • Seriously though, T-34 is a masterpiece of tank movies. My friend and I watched it -pirated- *completely legally* when it didn't have subtitles, and honestly it was better that way. The story was more interesting without knowing what the characters were saying and honestly you're not watching for the story anyway. The CGI was fantastic and the realism of everything in the tank battles (and there are a lot of them) was superb. Sure it's not realistic that everything happened, but the way everything is presented is believable and the CGI sells it. The best thing though is the physical cost the tank battles incur on the crew, even if they aren't penetrated or shot they get cut up and bruised by the tank itself. If you're a tank buff this is a must watch!

    • Yeah, I agree. Although wehraboos are getting angry about it because the panther could not pen the T-34's front hull, but it most probably hit either the machine Gunner's port or the driver's hatch, which are 75mm in thickness and is angled, nothing can pen that.

    • @@LordOfChaos.x well i do admit that this movie is a bit innacurate, not because that shell shouldn't have bounced but that the "elite" panther commander should have aimed for anywhere in the turret. if you look "carefully", you can notice that the tank is angled, the armor is angled and that the shell hit in the most armored area possible (+track links act as extra armor)

    • He was following the commanders orders. Not to mention the over the top plot armor of this movie. The shell that hit the tank head on would have killed most of the crew

    • Also, consider that he was trying to align the turret using hand cranks, not by just moving a computer mouse a little bit. Aaaand also probably hyped up on adrenaline. Aaaand also trying to coordinate with his crew and commander. So, it was a *teensy* bit more difficult than you might think. If War Thunder is any example, then that Panther D must have had to be firing either high-explosive or smoke shells at that T-34. Maybe at a kilometer or more, if it hit the side armor at a weird angle, then it would bounce. But not at frickin' point-blank range!

    • Oh, also... I think that there was some part of the video that was cut. Unless the T-34 kept pushing, there would have been no way that Panther could have gone over the edge. Only about 3 feet of one of its tracks were over, nowhere near close enough to its center of balance to tip it.

    • @@abercrombieblovs2042 For the handshake that wasn't shown, Ivushkin stepped on the Panther in order to shake Jäger's hand. This made the Panther oscillate towards the T-34 and away from the edge of the bridge, thereby creating potential energy sufficient to drop the Panther into the river. Jäger initially tried to pull Ivushkin down with him in that handshake, but realized that he was physically too weak at that point to maintain that kind of grip, and so let go of his own volition. By that point, he had destabilized the Panther's already precarious position enough to send it over the bridge, with him in it.

  • This reminds me of one time I was playing War Thunder. I was casually roaming around in my T-34 when all of a fucking sudden... *_A FUCKING TIGER COMES OUT OF NOWHERE._* This man shot me at least 10 times. No damage to me whatsoever. Of course, we were both exchanging bounces until somehow, someway, I managed to penetrate its armor and knock out its crew. I took no damage. Then everything went fine for the rest of the match... *_UNTIL ANOTHER FUCKING TIGER SHOWED UP._* Long story short, after another like 3 minutes, I somehow killed it. #PureStalinium
