I know the video is sped up, but handling the double-sided tape like that blew me away. It usually takes me 27 F-bombs and razor blade to get a single piece done! Great video.
You must e my long lost brother 😂😂😂
Unstick a tiny corner while it's uncut, and still on the roll.
Absolute best tutorial on this. Love your process for tucking and taping around the trim. Definitely going to replicate.
This is shit tutorial. Because of bumps around the stiching where leather meets alcantara(stitched together)
This is amazing. Thank you for showing the whole process with no cuts and edits! Never a mod I thought of doing at all but I will do it now!
looks aftermarket
Looks shit.
Admire the mans skill, too good for me. I would not have the patients for that job.
I did this on my previous M2, then this tutorial didn't exist unfortunately. This was a really good video showing how to handle a few of the challenges with getting the overlay aligned and such. Also, the double sided tape is a really good thing which my kit didn't come with.
Your tutorial helped me today installing my steering wheel cover, thanks for your effort! ❤
best video i've seen so far and he got the rears done so well
Gorgeous, please tell me how do you remove the back trim of the steering wheel. You covered it with the leather
Doing one of these soon. Great tutorial. Nice to get ideas on order of fitting. Well done.
I'm watching this video from Brazil, here we use shoe glue to fix the steering wheel cover, you use double sided tape, very interesting
Where can I get the orange tucking tool? And which tape did you use specifically?
A master craftsman. Thank you for such brilliant instructions
What a great video, recently got my cover and have to do mine as well.
Great work!!!!
Excellent job
Brilliant tutorial thank you! With the 12 o'clock line is it okay to Stitch behind it and hide the thread? Just wanted to check before i start mine
Greetings!I just got high from this video, from your skill. It's just magic, it's the highest level, it's just space!Respect dude!🔥🔥🔥👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
yo yo yo! This is awesome. I need to rewrap my E36 M3 and I'm placing my order now!
Great video! What did you do with the rear at the bottom base (behind the m logo) is that just stuck down or tucked in?
Gorgeous man !! Good work keep it up 🙂👍🏻
Great demonstration! thanks for the help
Fantastic ! !
Nice job. Thanks for the video.
This is the best video I've seen! Also the best installation! However I feel like the middle part if the steering wheel needs updating alongside otherwise you can tell it's aftermarket
im not a huge alcantara fan especially not on the steering wheel ,but while new ,this looks awesome
Great video. I was dreading doing mine and now I'll tackle it, this weekend. Thank You
How did it go?
How did it go?
That was hella clean!
Great Job , Thanks 🙏
Amazing work... Do you only need 2 meters of thread?
Helpfull tutorial thank you very much you should change the titel so everyone can find this there is no better tutorial for doing this i ordered a alcantara cover for my wheel and have no clue how to stich and everything but this is great i will do it that way thank you ❤
Golden hands 🙌🏼
Just perfect ! ❤
Donde se pueden comprar las fundas?
What type of double sided tape is that? It looks very easy to use compared to most.
good job
How did you measure the wheel to fit the cover I am having a hard time figuring that out?
👏👏👏👏 Good job Very nice
Is the tape used solid and durable ? Nice video tho
Bro steering cover pe konsa leather chadhta ha
Very nice! Wish there was a place here in Vancouver, Canada?
The best lavoro👍
Nice job.
Are there any problems with steering wheel heating due to the glue?
Damn that looks good. I’d have to pay someone tho because it’s way too tedious 😂
Well done👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
it can be done for a nx4 tucson ? 2022
Where could I go to get this done without getting your pockets picked 😢 I have ordered one off Amazon and found stitcher but they want almost $800 and your first born to do😒. I'm in Loganville, GA any suggestions?
How about removing the old leather wrap before installing a new one?
Nice teddy wheel 😊
Thx for video
Excellent
Artiste and car ///🏁
This is by the best way to do it tape up first
please make a video showing the leather colors also the alcantara
Nice👍
Nice
Idk how you make this look so effortless, i am actually going insane trying to finish it on my car. I had the thread unravel on me, broke one of the stiches, ran out of thread, and it is just such a headache
Looks like very fuzzy Alcantara
That looks so dope
Perfect 10/10
It should be to thick, because stock is already thick. How about grip feeling?
9 months later, how has the alcantara material held up since install? any premature wear/fading or getting nappy at all?
Yes it goes off
@@FleX123how badly
@@daniyalahmed9523 i mean serious badly :D it became so bad, that u dont even feel its alcantara, and it became to be even shiny, sorry for bad english
OH.... Ur Good....
What type of stitch did you use?
The result is good. Im pretty sure I’d mess it up though.
How long it took from start to finish?
Sveikas broliukas! I, as inexperienced in stuff like this, needed roughly 2 hours to install it, but worth the effort
Wow, can you do my Jeep Wrangler steering wheel:)?
Where did you buy this cover, im trying to find one like this model but i cant.. Anyone help?
diysteeringwheel.com/collections/bmw
Yeah looks great, but the sewing part would drive me insane!
Why you use tape? How much you charge for installing?
With tape it’s easier to install it and it would not spin loosely when you gripping the wheel firmly.
Wow~~~~~~~!!!!
Corona mask😅. Same location I used to put my mask during corona 😂😂😂
I love the look of this but I don’t have the skills to make it look that nice, which makes me too scared to buy it lol
WoooooooW
Where could I order one for my bmw 630i?

love it being chubby like that :D

this nigha made a poem💀💀💀
Bro wrote a poem about it 💀
Call me crazy but I think it looks better stock.
Just doing this while watching difficulty level 1000🤦♂️
Hi where can I buy the covers from
diysteeringwheel.com
Is the tape necessary?
Yes, I did mine without it and regret because I can rotate the cover with firm grip.
You need come to Leon Guanajuato México to learn how to do this work, better tha you and a lot faster, the people here are experts in made all kind of things with leather main shoes
from where i can buy it

👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Unfortunately, the cover i received doesn't seem to match the cuts you have on this display one. and has lots of excess around the sides.
I had the same problem
Do what I did, cut it to fit, and then make sure you glue down the existing thread so it doesn't come undone. Then just tuck it into your wheel.
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I find the skins are a tad expensive? £80 to buy and have it fitted by a mobile installer near me 🤷🏻♂️
Ok then go make your own skin bro? Stop complaining if you're going to be a bum with no solution
I do love this video but the end result is a bit rough
How? Literally looks OEM
Hi im glad you asked. And before we go there I do this for a living on some of the most prestigious cars. When you sew 2 ends of hide together, when its been skived thin, the leather can become very sensitive to being pulled, too tight and we have lines like we have in the video @11:49 and really apparent @12:17 , yes it does look oem , but not oem on a BMW or even a Bentley for that matter ;) it feels bumpy under your fingers, and since when we can detect the slightest imperfection with our touch. It will "do ones head in". Lets just say it wouldn't pass quality control The trick is slightly loose tight and heat @@tubbycustard8866
@@johnsev3046 fair enough, you would not want to see how mine came out then haha... i didn't use the double sided tape and the back of my wrap is completely loose and bumpy. the front actually came out decent but I def could've done much better. wish I knew about the heat trick. so the thread shouldnt be very tight? the curves make it extra hard
Why did you do THIS to your car 😢😢😢
i want this so bad but i know that i’m going to mess up big time and get really really angry and just throw everything away. so instead i’m going to buy the actual genuine bmw m-performance steering wheel that comes stock with alcantara and carbon fiber. it’s like $7k but it’s worth it
You could get so many mods for 7k. For a wheel it’s a bit ridiculous haha hence why the cover is so popular but you do you
Then get it done by professional and save 90%.... Or just buy an M, if you're willing to spend 7k for a steering wheel, that shouldn't be a problem too 😂
Bmw already has thick steering wheels. Adding more to it is just uncomfortable to use.
Agreed! I find the f80 wheel ridiculous already! I can’t even imagine adding another layer to it!
Why not restore the leather would look ten times better 👍🏿
Restoring the leather would mean no alcantara and no centre line, he likes it that way.
Awesome, you took the thickest car wheel known to man, and made it thicker! Good work. You got any spare gorillas to hold the wheel for me after I’m done?
Do you have child size hands?
