One thing (and the reason i prefer 520) is that the projectiles move really fast with 502. That's what makes the homing create such big circles, and it creates dead zones where the bolts don't hit. With 520, the circles are small enough that it can target bloons sequentially and you don't end up missing the second bloon in a chain, while the homing is still targeting it.

Yea it can create a smaller zone for it to pierce cap! (It was good because its god boosted i think the pierce is 3 so the bottom crosspath is must have)
I think the two options are so evenly matched that it comes down to favourites instead of objective superiority
fair point. I personally use 502 because when starting, camo detection is really important and I prefer to build up my wizards from the beginning

I mean, the paragons are like 20 monkeys in a trench coat for them to be of any high lvl. So I don't think it's unfair to say he's the strongest single entity.

13:02 Not only does intense magic increase pierce, it also increases _projectile velocity_ which was kinda a nerf, since the seeking became less effective; I think NOT having intense magic is actually a buff for the god-buffed archmage.

Main reason why 520 is better super buffed than 502 is fireball With such a crazy attack speed, you wind up shooting out a ton of fire balls along with WoF so you wind up with a large amount of damage from them. Plus as someone else pointed out, they dont arc as much so there are smaller dead zones insode of them

i'd say another reason that middle path cross path would be better is because the bolts move slower than the bottom path crosspath, which allows them to seek more easily
I always found it a bit of a weird nerf for the bolts to travel faster and have worse seeking.
can NK realize that x01 nerfs the seeking projectiles? If x01 buffed the steering speed too it would do and look amazingly

I actually completely agree with this. I have thought for a long time that xx1 was actually a bad cross path (at least until deep late game) but by this clearly even deep late game 520 is better
@@hugojiyen6973you can see on certain rounds the circle of bolts dont touch the bloons in the middle, it creates a deadzone in the middle because they cant turn fast enough
I’d guess that one of the reasons that 520 does so well is similar to top path engineers, where attack speed buffs affect it’s spawning speed and the damage of the spawned

IIRC the 510 Archmage fireballs got buffed a few updates ago to deal 18 base damage, which ever since then has made me always pick the 520 Archmage over 502. The middle path damage usually is better than the +5 pierce from xx1 (also the projectile speed hurts the seeking) and the increased range. 502 is now mostly for niche scenarios.
502 is good at catching stray cerams cuz ofspeed... That's all it, I think nk need to buff it so it'll be balanced
I think it should be said for the sake of god boosting, wall of fire benefits exponentially from attack speed buffs like sentry champion, because they buff the speed they place and the speed they attack.
Possibly also the flat damage increase too, no?
@@maudley No not really. The wall of fire does 1 base damage (with +1 maob damage), so flat damage buffs are really good on it, but they're not multiplicative to themselves like attack speed buffs are .
@@thenarwhalmage yeah sorry I didn't mean it like that, just that a x4 to damage (well x2.5 for moabs) on top of it just makes it all the better. Though that isn't unique to the tower like how the attack speed works in two ways.

There was a recent challenge that was round 41(the one with all zebras, not sure exactly which), with 1 life and very little money. And things like middle path druid didn't work. The answer that worked for me was 302 wizard, I was very surprised, but it was just strong enough

You should retry the hero max buff tests with the sub paragon buff, it makes a huge difference.
depends on the hero. That attack speed nerf can hurt a lot on towers with low base damage

@@kavinvenkatesh1581 It's only multiplicative to the base damage. Any extra damage from the sun temple or alchemist does not get multiplied. Adora's base 2 damage for example is flimsy compared to those damage riders.

I think elite defender would be an interesting max buff, since the 025 with just permabrew is incredible as you saw in the btd6 tournament a while back
I usually only always go for 502 if going for archmage due to the camo detection and increased range, and I don't like having to micro wof but this video is making me reconsider switching up
i want to see super buff of multiple towers at once. how well can you micro both and find synergies. i know there are a lot of towers left to do max buff on but once you run out i think this is a good way to continue the series

iirc wall of fire also has a multiplicative effect with attack speed buffs but i might be wrong, so that's probably how it got like +13 rounds vs 502

I've noticed from the description of Shimmer that it's described as an *attack", which to me always made it seem like the shimmer effect does damage as well as decamoing Bloons. I'm honestly kinda sad it doesn't do damage, I think it would be a very satisfying upgrade to put in the middle of a loop during early rounds.

Generally speaking, I think the 5-2-0 has better single target damage, but that extra pierce is still more useful overall.

Another reason why 520 is better than 502 is that it has slower projectiles, so its harder to have deadzones where projectiles can't home to

In normal gameplay, I can believe 502 is better, but super buffing towers already gives them so much pierce and range, I think 520 will do better. You said it yourself, more attack speed and more attacks are the best things in super buff videos. Also, the things that end your runs are often DDTs and BADs, not massive amount of weaker Bloons.
I prefer middle path usually, because five pierce because less relevant with buffs.

Haven't seen how it actually does yet, but I would guess middle crosspath actually does make more sense for max buffing, since you're giving it 2 more attacks that benefit from all the buffs. Edit: that is nutty.

@@corycollier8568It Gives Every Buff possible (Except Paragon buffs) in the whole game (so far) on a tower in its radius Reason why I said so far is that Alchemist and Village paragon could buff regular towers to make them more powerful buffs than their T5s when they get released (not confirmed that Alchemist or village paragon is next)
