Been there twice: 73 and 76. Both times on the hairpin curve. My hair was covered with rubber by the race end. Ears were ringing for three days.
5:55 All rise for the youtube national anthem
Thank you for putting this together. It gives a great history of the premier race of the F1 season. And thank you for naming the hairpin turn "Loews" on the map. For me, that will always be that turn's name.
Monaco has a king and his name is Ayrton Senna da Silva.
Yes
Not only the evolution of the race. It’s fascinating to watch the evolution of the cars. Thanks!!
It's amazing the amount after history Monaco has and it's even better when your Thier which I've experienced myself thanks for the video amazing👍👍
Someone actually used 009 sound sustem in 2017

I drove the Monaco circuit right after the race in 2002. It was the thrill of my life. I also drove around the Imola circuit that year. Good year.
Thankyou for putting in youtube nostalgia music
nice work of gathering information !
such a cool track.....the scenery, the layout of the course, the fact its on regular roads. it looks like something dreamed up for a movie.
This video is also cool due to the fact we can see the evolution of F1 cars year after year!
Crazy stuff, amazing how they have evolved!
Very good video compilation. Met Denny Hulme some decades ago.
Beautiful presentation
Thank You Jips: I remember watching years ago when Princess Grace was still alive and it started to rain. The cars went past her and she was sprayed from the water flying from their tires. It was funny watching her scramble to get back far enough to keep from getting drenched. It always amazed me to see someone pass another driver in F1. It is like threading a needle and Monaco has got to be the most difficult.
in 2029 they should do a 100 lap race
bring back the good old format
Unity Voltic somebody died because of exhaustion in a 100 lap race in Monaco, was changed to 71 laps since then
The race lenght was reduced in 1968, after the deadlt Accident of Lorenzo Bandini in 1967, at the Chicane.
Would have worked back then as the racing was exciting, the current f1 car not being able to overtake or follow each other would just mean more laps of follow the leader sadly :(
Artemis Fowl 78 to be precise.

Ayrton Senna!
Spectacular!!!!

I have been to Monaco 3 times (to the F1 race once, in 2016). A very beautiful city.
but its a country
Lived there for some months. City is never boring, but in my opinion it is not very beautiful. I think beautiful cities are Prague, Rothenburg, Rome. In Monaco are way too far houses on that small place. Cote d'azur is really beautiful :)
Excelente vídeo
Very nice!
Nice video showing the changes in the cars, but showing the changes in speed/times would be good.
someone please tell me the name of this song!!! pleazzzz i forgot the name
For completeness, it would not have been difficult to even add the names of racing cars
*The 2014 pic isnt a picture of 2014's cars but anyway, good video.*

Muy interesante
What's the recently record? About 01.11?(!)
Obrigado.
Great video. The piano music in the first part is sensacional! Whats name? It is like Phillip Glass!! But, the final music is bad.
Marcos Georges every day piano play
How do you dare to mock the Anthem of KZhead you son of a bumblebee???!!!!
Great images and great video!! Interesting that in the past they run more than 300km and even today it's the only F1 race with last than this huh|? And just miss correct texts like: "Winner x. Competitors x: 20. Lengt:" Not have point after phrases was bizarre, anyways.. It seems Fangio, Moss, Stewards along other legends liked so much this iconic circuit huh?!! After my countrymen Senna this circuit maybe turns to much boring even with such history, but I still apreciate! One thing that could be showed is that two times, pilots fall over the sea, reason why today they have frogmen to assure or try help in case this kind of accident to do, I think was in 1955 and 1956 those trageties happened, anyways, I don't even know if results in deaths or something but I imagine yes, well.. Great historical race, world wide of course, thank you for the beutiful images and video! :)) :D
As many people you call the Chicane "Chicane du port" . Here in Monaco we do NOT say "Chicane du port" but only the Chicane. On the Monaco circuit there is only one place called the Chicane.
Bel video
No bandini?
What is the first background song called? Thanks
It's in the description. "Everyday" by Carly Comando.
Comunque bel video....Volevo solo precisare....

Are you sure about the distance in 1976? You say it was 259.336 km, but according to my calculation it was 259.338 km.
1970 is when the cars started to become what they are today
CarrotsWithLegs yep and from that point on the '98 cars were some of the best looking i reckon
CarrotsWithLegs no 80's
It was 1967 where they went from small 1.5Ls to more powerful 3.0Ls. Then it was 1968 where a few teams (notably Lotus) first began experimenting with the concept of downforce. By 1969 every car har wings in some form. And then finally in 1970 cars started being more and more cleanly-designed
35 drivers racing around Monaco in 1990... Insane

The next stage in Monaco's development should be no more GP there. The cars out-grew it decades ago.
A nice attempt at a history of the Monaco GP, but deceptive statistics. For example, 1971, only 18 cars actually started the race, 5 cars failed to qualify thus the "23 competitors". A car not starting the race is hardly competing. 1981, also, only 20 cars started the race. Eleven cars either did not qualify or failed to pre-qualify. One last nit-pick- it would be nice to show the winning car each year. Some year it did, others just random photos of cars competing that year. A worthy effort, but overall, not a great one.
2000 David Coulthard in a Ferrari??
4:30 *Spot the topless model taking **_trackside snaps'_** or it might be a guy with a Mutton Chop Cut ?*
I would watch this race with interest the next few years. They may be the last ones for this circuit! F1 needs to drop it and get a better race on the calendar. I know, I know - The tradition, the pageantry, blah, blah, blah. The races are boring. There is no passing, no excitement. One car follows the next in line. Maybe a radical redesign of the track might help keep it on the calendar, but I doubt it! There are much better track options for that date. The race needs to go!

Nico Rosberg, a Monaco local boy, won the race in 2013, 2014 and 2015 but 2016 Lewis Hamilton ( Nico team mate ) won at Monaco. 2016, Nico retired completely from Formula 1... sad really. (father Keke Rosberg also won Monaco once..)
Good video, bad music
Senna 👍

I never realized an American has never won it, I thought surely someone like Phil Hill or Andretti or Dan Gurney would’ve won it at some point
@jenniferman .. Juan Pablo Montoya is almost as American as it can be, as far as Formula1 is concerned.
if it wasn’t for his death ayrton senna was projected to win monaco at least until 1997 with williams
I doubt it. Don't forget Schumacher was also very good at Monaco. I think a titanic battle between Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna will happen. Schumacher has the ability to push Senna just as hard as Prost did imo. Just thinking about it gives me chills!
@@Phantom5611 and @LIUZS . that's the funny thing about death. It puts a complete stop to life and any of it's projections.

Surely the evolution should discuss speed not repeat the laps and distance that very rarely changed?
but the record is 1.12.121
Fun fact: F1 begin in 1950
there is photo in 1985 from 1986!!!
Also in 1993 from 1992
Sorry, died when dreamscape came on.
Ayrton Senna won the race more times than any other driver, with six victories, winning five races consecutively between 1989 and 1993.[8] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monaco_Grand_Prix
Schumi would equal Senna if not being penalised in 2012 after having earned a pole position at 43 years old!
RIP Senna
7:52 WTF was that Ferrari??
