The 2023 US Open main draw runs from August 28 - September 10 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz winning his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek winning her third Grand Slam title. This year, at the US Open, we’re set for another historic tournament as the world’s best tennis players head to New York. • If the US Open continues to produce highlights of this length and quality throughout the whole tournament I'll happily announce it the greatest of all Opens.

  • If Dimitrov had this mental strength earlier in his career, he would have a slam by now, what a win this was.

    • Who would he have won against?

    • He should have reached the 2017 Australian Open Final for a start, whether or not he would have beaten Federer is another question, he also should have made the Semi Finals a year later and potentially making another final where Federer wasn't playing at as high of a level. There are probably other important matches he shouldn't have lost prior but would have to look in more detail @@consumer338

    • He can't return. Always been his biggest problem. He's on the defensive for more than 95% of his return points. I love him, but just putting the ball in play on returns isnt nearly enough anymore to win big tournaments. The whole top 10 does it VERY well, It's one of the most important skill to have these days.

  • Dimitrov‘s volley skills at match point is just UNBELIEVABLE. SAVING TWO FREAKING MATCHPOINTS with a well placed backhand volley and a AMAZING HALF VOLLEY in the 5th set tiebreak is out of this world. What a touch! :)

  • Credit Dimitrov for the endless hard work. Look up Archibal here on YT, he has great practice session videos at the '23 Open with Andy Murray and Musetti Countless smooth strokes. Dimi and Wawrinka must play because they love it at this point, we all benefit from learning how they hit so well.

  • Im a huge Dimitrov fan. That being said, one of the main difference between the top 5 and the rest is how well they return. People always talk about how Dimitrov couldve won slams and all, but you can't win slams by being on the defensive for more than 95% of the points you play when you're returning.

    • Great point. Plus his topspin backhand does no damage and can leak errors.

  • Wow I owe 2 myself and to Grigor to comment about Grigor's very hard earned BIG congratulations to Grigor! This match should be one of the best comebacks, U can watch this film (I think you need save this 30-minutes that only gets 2.5 minutes, but because you and Molcan, by the way he did very well, even though a hair short lost to you, with your children and even grandchildren and enjoy LOOKING back, this NOT in master 1,000, but in grand slams and must have iron mental strength, poise, patience, tactful and all that Grigor managed VERY very well indeed WHY he captured the BIG W with extra thousands of sweat dollars! What an excellent comeback Gregor especially SUCH close tie break in the first set lost by hair; yet, still stay calm, poised and carried on. In short, once again, SO VERY well managed game and well done UNDER such SO close game and SO much pressure! EVEN if U never win grand slam, you should play well after 40-meaningless calendar (as we age every year), age and earn as much as possible and dismiss those ahols-asking-when are U retired bla bla bla bull shets and keep playing, just look at Vines Williams? Even losing in the 1st set, NO one is going to pay that much money, got it Grigor? I hope you cherish this sweet victory until the next game and give your best efforts, no such things as luck! USA

  • man there's smth about dimi's game... that seems.. character-less, other than his federer-esk strokes. I feel like there are multiple times he coulda come to the net and he just decided to sit back. Slices he just chooses to put in the middle of the court for no reason.. also seems not agile enough. I guess it's cuz of his big body? He seems very flexible though! Anyways.. really hoped dimi would be next federer but something about his game seems off. He always struggles I feel like.

    @hanbrianlee@hanbrianlee8 ай бұрын
    • He needs to be more aggressive sometimes and play at the net…. He has got the reflexes, flexibility and athleticism more so than federer
