10 Illegal Pets You Should Never Own And Why
Exotic pets have an appeal of their own, but do not let social media fool you! Most of these animals make troublesome pets. They’re not just challenging to maintain and take care of by the owner; the animals also end up going crazy when taken away from their natural habitats. Whether it is ownership of majestic lions or adorable little foxes, you should reconsider checking your local laws before getting one!
Here is a list of illegal pets you shouldn’t own. Let’s begin.

Sugar gliders
You might be familiar with “sugar bears,” which is another name for these undoubtedly adorable marsupials native to Australia. But don’t be fooled by their cuteness because those who experience having them as pets realize very soon that they weren’t ready for the responsibility that comes with owning a sugar glider! They’re active, curious, and nocturnal animals, and while they may steal hearts online and in-person, keeping one as a pet is a whole other domain.
First, your home is an unsuitable environment for sugar gliders - keeping them indoors is going to be nothing short of cruel! Their community, fresh air, climbing trees, and anything other than peering out of a cage is essential to these guys, so keeping one as an indoor pet is nothing short of inhumane!
Bearded dragons
Those of you planning on visiting Hawaii soon, rethink your decision to bring your pet bearded dragon along! According to the Hawaiian government, snakes and large lizards have no natural predators in Hawaii and pose a severe threat to Hawaii’s environment because they compete with native animal populations for food and habitat. Many species also prey on birds and their eggs.
As a result, there is an increased threat to the endangered native birds. The larger snakes may even go as far as killing pets and humans! No wonder Hawaii has them banned. These reptiles are native to Australia and survive best in the Savannah, woodlands, deserts, and scablands. Their survival instinct is to avoid predators by burrowing under the ground. They are legal to own in most parts of the world, so if you genuinely want to own one, you’d have to relocate to a place other than Hawaii!

My family has owned an alligator, a bearded dragon, many pigs, a large lizard, a tarantula, an alligator turtle, and much more. None were mean, and the bearded dragon often went on beach trips using only a harness and leash, and stayed by us at all times. Now I'm not recommending you to own them, they aren't always vicious animals, and can be sweet and caring, and overall intelligent to choosing who they are most comfortable, and ways to protect them in any way, and release strong bonds and affection towards their caregivers.
We live in Washington state in the United States and we own 3 bearded dragons. They are the sweetest reptiles you can get. And they are one of the few reptiles that actually crave the contact of their owners.
I mean love your video's and btw I could've got a sugar glider until my mum suddenly got scared from them so we got a dog half Doberman half Husky
I also have a big wish of keeping a cheetah as a pet but this video made me think otherwise

Fun fact: in the state of Tennessee it is illegal to BUY a turtle under 4 inches long. You can own one, you just won’t find them for sale in any pet stores here. It’s because they carry salmonella. Not sure why their size makes a difference but it does! You can still order online or buy from another state legally!
The shell size matters, because small children would put them in their mouths, thus directly transmitting salmonella.
