After seekng the clips of Ascended Astarion being able to see his reflection I'm more mad that he doesn't have a dialogue to see himself with the tadpole connection or a painting or sculpture or hells, even the spell mirror image. Or disguise. I know we don't have specific options like that bjt the fact that Gale makes a full mirror duplicate of himself at the beginning of the game "indulging in a spot of vanity" while later we have to see Sadstarion with the mirror scene "petty vanity, of course I miss it."

(I can't remember which one I did first) but on one of them Star is just like "ok we have tbis painting of someone now" and my Tav made a comment about how they thought the person in the painting was rather good looking. I don't remember the exact line but that is some kind of acknowledgment I have noticed. And I thought it was so cute. My Tav basically saying the man in the portrait is hot while Star doesn't even realize it is him.

Ppl who think all the companions are black and white pigeonholed "evil, good, etc" haven't BEGUN to dig into the immensely different ways your own example, respect if others right to make good AND bad choices by themselves but also to, right to have their privacy respected and not be pestered for every detail about themselves before they even KNOW you affects how differently the companions potentially develop. You can wind up with the most evil, abusive, villainous Astarion imaginable. You can also wind up with an Astarion who learns sacrifice, selflessness, and heroism. You get out of them what you reflect, and they'll tend to start to reflect your own attitudes about them.

After seekng the clips of Ascended Astarion being able to see his reflection I'm more mad that he doesn't have a dialogue to see himself with the tadpole connection or a painting or sculpture or hells, even the spell mirror image. Or disguise. I know we don't have specific options like that bjt the fact that Gale makes a full mirror duplicate of himself at the beginning of the game "indulging in a spot of vanity" while later we have to see Sadstarion with the mirror scene "petty vanity, of course I miss it."

yk the Oskar Fevras quest, for Act 3, if you save him in Act 2, he offers you a painting as a reward. mine happened to be portrait of Astarion and I'm also upset you can't show him the painting
@RedFoxy248 right? So also, in my first run, my Tav romanced Star and when my Tav agreed for the painting it was Star (lol) and and I reloaded and had Star talk to him to do it and it was the same. (I can't remember which one I did first) but on one of them Star is just like "ok we have tbis painting of someone now" and my Tav made a comment about how they thought the person in the painting was rather good looking. I don't remember the exact line but that is some kind of acknowledgment I have noticed. And I thought it was so cute. My Tav basically saying the man in the portrait is hot while Star doesn't even realize it is him.
I like how he can deliver a line looking completely serious, but then flashes a little smile after he’s done. It’s so… realistic (and cute 😭)

He looked so hurt and scared when he's told that the relationship has to end. The fact that he immediately blamed himself was so sad. That's from years of trauma from Cazador. When he's told the reason why the relationship should end, he sounds simultaneously relieved that he wasn't at fault, and also like he was trying to calm himself and Tav. His declaration that he wasn't going anywhere was so sweet. And the pouty way that he said that not enough people mention how beautiful he is was so adorable. Just the cutest lil vampire bean ever.

Ppl who think all the companions are black and white pigeonholed "evil, good, etc" haven't BEGUN to dig into the immensely different ways your own example, respect if others right to make good AND bad choices by themselves but also to, right to have their privacy respected and not be pestered for every detail about themselves before they even KNOW you affects how differently the companions potentially develop. You can wind up with the most evil, abusive, villainous Astarion imaginable. You can also wind up with an Astarion who learns sacrifice, selflessness, and heroism. You get out of them what you reflect, and they'll tend to start to reflect your own attitudes about them.

I know it's not in this video but his "I'm not afraid, not of you...not of your darkness and....not of our future" line is probably my favorite out of all of his lines when it comes to the more romantic ones. It's so beautiful!😭 And that's saying allot because it's not easy to choose a favorite out of the many absolutely amazing lines he has. This entire dialogue is full of some other favorites though, like the tiny "oh shit" and the funny yet sad "I am...AND beautiful (sighs)...not enough people mention that".
