Sights & Sounds of MXGP Trentino 2024: EMX125/250, MX2 & MXGP Free Practices + Freestyle Show!
Something different from the usual automotive content. You know that in recent years I've uploaded some videos related to the 2-wheels world. I'm a big fan of motorbikes too but focusing mainly on automotive events I've always find myself too busy to also follow 2-wheels races during the year. But in 2024, barring unforeseen circumstances, I intend to follow some motorcycle events and vary a bit between track, motocross, classics and hillclimbs.
So last weekend I went to Pietramurata MX track in Italy for the fourth round of the 2024 Motocross World Championship, the MXGP of Trentino. The track is located 10 km North of Lake Garda and it's surrounded by some beautiful mountains, typical of that area.
I was there only for Saturday's free practice sessions and qualifying but it was pretty enough to get a taste of this interesting and strenuous discipline. The classes you see in this video are:
- the EMX125 (European Motocross Championship 125), for riders of the age of 13 to 17 with 125cc 2-stroke motorcycles
- the EMX250 (European Motocross Championship 250), for riders with a maximum age of 21, with over 175cc and up to 250cc 2-stroke and 4-stroke motorcycles (with different minimum weights)
- the MX2, for riders with a maximum age of 23 years and it can only include two-stroke engines from 100cc up to 125cc, or four-stroke motors from 175cc up to 250cc.
- the MXGP, the major series for riders between 16 and 50 years, with over 175cc up to 250cc for 2-
stroke engines and over 290cc up to 450cc for 4-stroke engines.
In the morning I also managed to record one of the Freestyle Motocross FMX show by Monster Energy in the paddock!

Two-strokes sound fucking psychotic. Twice the explosions per revolution as a four-stroke engine and by god do they let you know about it. I need to get back into dirtbikes, man. I grew up on Monster Energy Supercross back here in the states and IDK why I ever STOPPED watching it lol

Enough. But 500s are the best sweet spot. Not too heavy, power is enough to send you to the ER.
