I love how instead of saying "Assassinate" it becomes "Slaughter".

Because the term assassination usually refers to a discrete and stealth kill that goes unnoticed or at least intraceable to who did it. Whereas here Jin decapitates the general in front of his soldiers to input fear into them, hence making it a slaughter(killing off an incapacitated enemy in a brutal way).
You only slaughter a general, as before ghost stance you could've only critical damage him even in stealth.
Execute is a better word for it

I was wearing the full Sakai armour during this part, Jin straight up looked like a horned Demon risen from Hell to punish the Mongols, man I love this game!

He is supposed to be treated well and deserves better since Joel had done many wrong things and sins from the past and even lost his daughter. I'm glad I wasn't alone in feeling like that. It was at this scene I knew the Khan was gonna get his ass handed to him the next time he and Jin fought. By pushing Jin to abandon his honor and become the Ghost, the Khan accidentally created the ultimate warrior

This is so sad when compared to the actual mongol invasion in tsushima, knowing that almost no one survived, that they slaughtered so much people just for the sake of it, I think it makes this game kinda poetic, in a way

I love how as the game progresses, Jin goes from a stray surviving samurai, to a warrior causing the Mongols trouble, to what they start to see as an actual spirit of vengeance. The Ghost stance makes you into a thing of horror, making the enemies feel like they're receiving some sort of divine punishment for all they've done. Jin becomes the personification of wrath, repaying his people's suffering.
He's a ten foot demon with Glowing eyes.

Na I feel like this played out different.. I think Jin was waiting for the people to rise up and it took the guy that was waiting back in the castle with all the others who couldn't fight to announce that they did it together and not just "the Ghost"

@@frankuraku5622 Eh, wouldn’t be too fun if you could just hit the ghost stance and kill more than 3 enemies without them fighting back. 3 is definitely enough, especially if you also can earn it simply from killing a leader.

3:03 one of the greatest moments I've experienced in a game. It's just so inspiring and scary at the same time. Jin always stayed calm and thought before acting, but here, it's just like he snapped completely. Kinda like Gohan against the cell Jr's. A true masterpiece, this game

This part is the single most badass scene in the entire game. When he screams FOR YARIKAWA, and you hear in the back the scream from the people in support cheering and willing to fight to their last breath... i felt that 💪
I replay the game mainly to experience that scream one more time

@Helm DiDo brutes are fine. can be easily staggered by moon stance kicks. the spearmen are the annoying ones. doesn't help that the first heavy strike of the wind stance gives your enemies a second of opening to cancel your attack
DanTE1203 i fucking know right. The brutes were easy to handle, it’s the spearmen and ronin I get pissed off (the ronin especially when it comes to standoff in Kubara and they just automatically zoom to slash at you lol)

The Amount of adrenaline in my body when I played this part was sky high
There is a trick I found out developer’s use to make this scenes so cinematic: After you gain this moment of feeling invisible when activating the ghost stance for the first time, the difficulty in killing the other enemies is reduced so you feel you slaughter them with ease and keep that sense of being all powerful. Neat, right?
Yeah that was genius. I just wish they added more enemies before ending the scene because the music and everything was so perfect. Made me feel like a badass. In my 2nd playthrough I took my sweet ass time slowly walking to the enemies just to fully take everything in lol.

Sucker Punch nailed a lot of things in this game. Giving full control of the scene to the player instead of having a cut scene is what makes this scene stand out so much.

The music plus the shouting “For Yarikawa!” got me so hyped when playing! Love this game!!!
At that part, I can't describe how hyped I felt and almost freaked out at how amazing this was!!! It isn't just the scene but the entire build-up of the story unfolding that leads you to this. It was so freaking cool and clever presenting Jin as a good fallen soldier that was pretty much left with two choices: "Live with pride and die with honor" or "Go against your creed to adapt and outsmart your opponents to save your country in order to live". The overall idea of being able to beat every enemy even when outnumbered or even when lacking raw muscle power gets cloaked so smoothly behind the most simple factor, being smart. I love that you are using weapons that nobody else has, and combat styles that no one is familiar with. It is an incredible yet simple story which had me begging at the end for a recreation of a Netflix adaptaion series, but at the same time with the fear of might ruining it since most studios these days are giving awful performances. Sucker Punch I salute you for this masterpiece you have created. Massive respect for your work

I remember this scene like it was yesterday and will never forget it, my jaw was dropped the entire time, definitely my top ten gaming moments
This was such a breathtakingly awesome moment. Especially when he charges directly into the invaders and spurred on the others by telling them "NO MERCY!". Man this game was outstanding.

Ghost of tshushima had the best combat mechanism ive ever seen , best killing animations, the blood the water,moon, ghost stances , damn what a game. How i wish to play this game again without its memory.

Honestly might be my favorite part of the game. Loved the whole thing, and honestly it felt like an Assassin’s Creed set in Japan without the lore. I’m a huge AC fan and loved both the stealth and combat. Great game all around.

this moment was when this game became number 1 to me. the music playing and the yelling for yarikawa and the ghost , ghost mode and then that end speech made my hair on the back of my neck stand. i literally shed a single tear of joy. not many games make me feel like that.

2:19 In my gameplay, right before the cinematic in which you slaughter the Temuge and unlock the ghost posture started, a Mongol archer shot me with a fire arrow, so when the cinematic started and my Jin was in flames for the first seconds. I thought it was put there intentionally until now, given the Mongols' reaction. I really thought for a moment Jin turned into a demon or something. My favorite part of the game so far
How did an archer shoot you if you were in a boss fight?
Probably wasnt an archer, temuge can set his sword on fire, my bet is he somehow got a hit on u while it was on fire before you got the last hit, but you were in a attack animation that couldn't be stopped

Not really. The japanese voice acting itself isn't bad. But, the lips and facial animations of the characters were made with English dub in mind. So, with Japanese dub, the voice actually feels a very out of sync with the animations.
@@geraldo301 i thought with japanese dub they are going to sync the animation as well like ff7 remake. but for me i got goosebump hearing japanese deep voice especially when they do samurai character. a matter of preference really.

i havent felt this rush of excitement in a game like i did on this mission, out of nowhere they've given me a new skill in ghost stance i never expected that and i got it in the most badass way, and the way he talks to the enemies after slaughtering their general and how jin rally the warriors of yarikawa through his words gave me goosebumps, like legit like youre there in that moment with jin.
Jin’s leadership and commanding capability is shown really well here. Without lord shimura holding him back he is capable of great feats.
Imagine if Lord Shimura is dead or not holding back Jin 🗿Jin will be so aggressive and not holding back
