  • "Blackwing... Darkwing... Dark knight..." We were so close to greatness. We could have been the terror that flaps in the night. Instead, we were Batman. Not that I have a problem with that.

  • “ I think my wife enjoys seeing me suffer sometimes” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 It seems Scott wasn’t happy about making this video.😂

  • putting the sheet of paper between your hand and the paper you're drawing on is so smart; I usually just let my hands get covered in graphite and pretend it's intentional :')

  • I loved graphite pencils and blending tools in high school and now I HATE them. I hate the oily smudgy look (and it getting everywhere haha). They are not relaxing to use, but you did amazing with this! One thing I still really like about pencils is how far you can push the values.

  • As an artist myself I prefer to work with graphite powder once the sketch and the shadow map is down, and to work and blend with that there's nothing that I recommend more than make up brushes ❤

  • Tip from a graphite/Charcoal pencil artist (me): tortillons (blending stumps made of paper) can sometimes give a streaky or uneven blend so if you have an old (or new if you want) firm to semi firm paintbrush laughing about try using that to blend. Finer brushes give finer details and bigger brushes blend out large surface areas like a dream and the best part is you can go to any negative space you want to fill out or shade and apply pigment without actually drawing ✌️🥰

  • Some way to make sure graphite doesn’t continue to rub on your hands is to seal your work with a lightweight sealant. You can get matte ones so that they don’t mess with the finish, and you can use a spray can, an airbrush, or even just a normal brush to put them on. Personally I like MSC and Army Painter Matte varnish. I don’t handle my work often so a coat of one of these just keeps them from rubbing or staining the other side of the notebook.
