As a Chiefs and NZ Māori fan it was sad to see James Lowe leave NZ . He deserves enormous credit for succeeding as well as he has. Ka nui te mihi rangatira ki a ia.
Great to see another samoa playing for ireland seki uso JameSlow
@@MMako13 lol he's of English and Maori heritage... and has the best stats of any no.11 this year.
Cheek in tongue????
We love him in Leinster
@@brendancoote3085 yep, easy to mix your words up though eh
Nothing wrong with wanting to play for the country of your birth, J-Lo gives 100% EVERYTIME he puts on a Leinster and Ireland top and that's all we can demand. He's a top bloke and is loved by us all @ Leinster and Ireland even the Munster fans deep down love him but refuse to show it publically … bless ‘em 😉
When Ireland scored tries against Mew Zealand, you can tell by Lowes reaction to know that he plays for the Jersey.
I'm a munster man and I love the guy, great player and great guy
@@tonwhelan it's fine hat on J-Lo when playing against Red BUT when he puts that Green on he does so for all of Ireland no different to POM 👊Éire Abú
He has brought joy to Leinster and Ireland with his playing style and smiling on the pitch. Love the guy
Great interview, some really interesting stuff, especially the way some ABs know little about some of their opponents. James could easily have been an AB but it's a great story the way it's worked out. As a Kiwi, got great respect for this Irish team.
Love seeing a man mature and share his journey so far. Great stuff Jim
Great Insight lowe is a real down to earth guy. Comes across very humble and nice guy.
James Lowe was a great player here in NZ. At the time unfortunately there were some pretty incredible wingers in NZ. The player you guys see in Ireland is very different to the one who starred in the Chiefs 2014-2017. Still had a good step & a hell of a left foot but man he was quick one of the quickest wingers in NZ. Have you heard of the "Dmac & Lowe Show"? When these 2 combined in the Chiefs they were fucken deadly. As a strong Chiefs supporter my all time 15 would have James Lowe 14 Damian Mackenzie 15. Just want to say on behalf of all the Chiefs fans here in NZ good on you the bro James you have achieved soo much in europe & primo as bro go well.
Lowe has won the respect of the whole nation with his performances over the last year. Definitely hit a speed bump after his first cap for Ireland but came back stronger and nailed down that left wing spot!
Tena koe e te rangatira. There are some of us kiwis that admire those who choose due to professionalism, go elsewhere to progress their career. Many have done this in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Ka mau te wehi (well done)
He's a son of samoa uce 🇹🇼
@@MMako13 kia tau te rangimarie, with all due respect he was born in Aotearoa (tangata whenua mai te Tiriti), he learned his trade in Aotearoa and wanted to be an All Black and perform the haka like all kiwi kids. Unfortunately he chose to play for Ireland (respect) rather then Samoa or NZ where he will be paid very well, noreira James, kia kaha kia maia kia manawanui, ma te Atua koe me to whanau kei tera takiwa i nga wa katoa 🔥🔥🔥
@@MMako13 dont be a dick you know he is Maori not Samoan - wishing he was Samoan doesnt make him Samoan nobby mako
Well said. He has grown so much as a player since he left NZ, but more importantly it's his growth as a person that is impressive. Love his maturity in reflecting on his past self, particularly as a young gun coming up. Great player.
Great to see how well he's done over there!
Lowe is a top player! Ireland is definitely better with him!
Great interview, thanks Rugby Pass & Big Jim
Ireland not only created a good development base via their schools, academies and provincial club system - but also via very intelligent importing of real talent. The national qualification rules (debatable) helped them - but they selected who very well. Lowe, Gibson-Park, Hanson, Stander are quality diamonds.
Weather you're a kiwi or Irishman ya gotta admire this boy who turned into a man, good to see he has fallen in love with Ireland & the Irish people, and I guess he's found his place in this world. Our lost is your gain Ireland, take care of him. A kiwi friend, is loyal to the end, "Kia kaha e toko tuakana"
Really really great interview, well done big Jim 👊
Great player and man - Leinster and Ireland lucky to have him
Great stuff, lads. Very relaxed and insightful interview. Total respect for the opposition and the honour of putting on the Irish jersey. Loved by all the Leinster fans, and he puts bums on seats.
Brilliant interview. Love it.
Class interview 😊 Jimmys a legend ☘️
These are amazingly feel good interviews. Top shelf.
Loving the interviews, keep them coming BIG JIM
Ireland are such a great team. I wish them well in 2023.
Nice walk there down by the Dodder river. It’s not a canal big Jim.
My style of man , he knows he good & we know he is , always gives 100% . You couldn't ask for more . All the best for the future .
Aw what a great interview
Great show
Love your work James
Well whether he likes it or not, H's Irish now. Nobody else in the entire world could start a sentence with "but sure look" 🤣 He's done well, we gave him grief about his defense at the start, coz it was shite, he improved it, shut us all up, good on him.
As a kiwi, I heard so much Irish in his dialogue haha
Be interesting to see if we get more of this with the 5 year residency rule now , from memory James got in just in time to qualify under the old 3 year rule
Man is dangerous, unbelievable player
Hes an awesome player. Like most countries, its hard to crack top sides when the coaches have biases towards certain guys from schools etc. I don't think Lowey would have cracked it here - and am happy he's doing well in Ireland. They are an awesome side. The next world cup is going to be amazing, and I think it will suit the ABs well to be outsiders!
James does bring up a good point in regards to not alot of fans knowing much about some of the Irish Players and that is somewhat true - But in our defence - We simply don't get a whole lot of European club games over here other than perhaps on the rugby channel which you have to pay for. We get alot of Super Rugby and NRL with every game shown live so thats pretty mu8ch our bread and butter footy of what we watch. We may get the random european club game here and there but its very random - 1 fortnight it an English game then next fortnight its a japanese club game - very random so hard for us as fans to engage in a club comp and its players if we don't get it on a consistent basis like SR and NRL
All class. James Lowe is the man.
jeez JL, I've been getting up -as an ABs rugby supporter-based in the northern hemisphere at 2 or 3 a.m or whatever time for years & years so's to not miss Ireland in NZ or whatever game - wouldn't miss a game no matter what time.
Interesting his candid talking about how dependent we are on sexton. I would wrap him up during this six nations and give carbury and Crowley a good run out
Just a top bloke!
One of the best wings in the world and has been for some time
Go look up early James Lowe highlight reels. Serious talent. Definitely New Zealand's loss.
Big Jim is an arrogant fella no doubt, but the best rugby interviewer there is.
Arrogant...NEVER !
@@seamus9750 he's exceptionally arrogant
Substantiate your BS at least with an example. Given he isn't at all; using this whole interview and his tonality/inquisitive nature and even humour as examples of this.
@@robertfoster1730 Big Jim talking about his scrapping, absolutely loves it. Seems to take a huge pride in being filthy as a player. Also plays up the big lad on the drinking stories..Goodey is a lot more humble. Is he a great interviewer though? I would say one the very best in rugby. Is he arrogant? Absolutely!
@@nickybutt9733 you realise its nearly always tongue in cheek. And he’s incredibly self deprecating at the same time
jim's umbrella looks like a little sun umbrella from Mexico '86
Well deserved work hard get the rewards
Tēnā kōrua
Could tell ireland in the first nz test were at least knocking on the door , all their systems set up so many chances , they just took barely any of them few of the nz tries were big intercepts from them running the entire length of the pitch
Funny when u from the area of leinster hq and realise they are doing this 7 minute walk in 45 minutes 😂😂😂
Top 4 countries Nz Ireland France S Africa (no particular order) So why are all 4 in the top half of the draw???
Well, I just happen to love some cheek in my tongue.
When everybody bitched about this Guy I knew he was special. Go lowe
New Zealand’s lost, Ireland’s gain. Good on him seeking to play international rugby when he was overlooked by the likes of George Bridge who was a disappointment.
JL YDM💚💙💚💙💚💙
He's so dull Hamilton checks his emails during the chat..
He's still not good enough to wear an ABs jersey - so he definitely made the right decision.
Nonsense. He was the top winger for 2 seasons in NZ and was not getting the nod because the lineup for positions of guys whom had already put in the wait behind other guys was to long. He made to only chose for a professional and it was right for his career and earning potential. Can't spend his prime waiting for the AB jersey that is not going to be given to him due to circumstance.
You're totally full of shite mate he should have been an all black was yelling it all season before he left.
@@hellovanite he wore the black jersey he deserved - the Maori All Black jersey. Good on him playing for Ireland.
@@joeypotter4320 He mightve made the All Blacks in the 70s.
Lowe in over Clarke
Lowe was the best winger in NZ when he left bar Ben Smith..

Don't have a problem with him playing for Leinster but do for Ireland. [almost a 1/3rd of Irish Rugby Team aren't Irish, now - Lowe, Gibson Parks, Aki and Hanson]
Fair enough but would they have had those victories without them tho
Every national team is the same, literally what does it matter
Hansens mother is from cork
@@teurewhakiri3538 let's find out
@@nathanorsi9504 so it's just a competition for the best hired guns - that's why it matters
The Boks 2nd first row will dominate Ireland.Stay humble
Since that happened in the autumn series 👍
Didn’t they play last month? I mean, we could check who won that instead of taking your word for it………..so I checked and apparently Ireland won that one. Let’s check the one before becau……….oh no. Ireland won that one as well. Hmmmmm.
What does a Bok know about being humble, looks like your arrogance has yet again made you look stupid, the winging Boks, the what if brigade, it is the refs fault, if, if if, what IF you look up what humble means, the would be something eh
@@readesiun988 Arrogance and winning can be confused sometimes. I understand you may not be used to the latter…
@@avishjhugroo2473 Say's the loser, your team lost, again, it is really that simple. If Ireland lost, I would not be online crying about it. Arrogance is losing and under some delusion that you won. You lost.
Dodder?
As a Leinster fan, I'm delighted that he joined the club. His passion, skill and charisma are all phenomenal. As an Irish fan I think it's disgraceful that he was ever allowed to represent Ireland. I wish international rugby would eliminate this nonsense....
