I started watching football on 2009 just because of Messi and Barca (one of my cousin persuaded me and told how good Messi was). Since then, I have never missed watching Barca games, except where we didn’t have electricity - lack of electricity is a big issue in Afghanistan, most of the matches started after 12 AM, and we would be lucky if it started before that. Even though some the matches started 1 AM and finished close to 3 AM meanwhile I have to be in at work at 7 AM, I kept watch the game. After the World Cup one of my fiend who is die hard Madrid fan told me, “what a match man, Messi played so well”. I told him that it was just another match for Messi intern of performance. You just witness the tip of iceberg and wonder how good he was. I have been watching every single of his game for a decade.

And if you're one of them who hate and criticize Messi, do yourself a favor and put on some headphones, sit down, and watch this video closely. My introduction to Lionel Messi was his goal against Mexico, the lob that I'm so happy is included in this video at 17:09 ... I had stopped watching soccer for about 10 years and was just getting back to it. I was in a restaurant/bar where they happened to be showing this Copa America match. I watched this play and thought OK, play it back to Tevez, what are you waiting for?? But then this dude did the unexpected, an amazing touch, a beautiful lob, the most unexpected play. I thought to myself: I don't recall players being this accurate, and trying this type of shot. A lob, with 2 defenders relatively close by, with a very different technique from the typical lobbing technique and with beautiful accuracy. I didn't know I was watching one of the greatest players.
Watching his skills in slow motion is a sight to behold. You see skillful players all the time but this is another level, in a split second he softly touches the ball just enough to get past the opponent over and over against the best defenders in the world. Just like when Jordan, Kobe, Magic Larry Bird in basketball when they retired, the world is going to miss watching Messi play.😢
