All the scenes aboard the The Guanshiyin from Season 2 Episode 13.
Avasarala, Bobbie and Ghazi cornered on The Guanshiyin, get their asses saved by Bobbie with her power armour. A great sequence and a fantastic end to a superlative season.
To avoid the whole video getting copyright blocked I was forced to make edits, quite a few of them during this episode unfortunately. I hope they are not too noticeable.
I also had to replace the original audio on the very last scene and remove Naomi's 'What did you do' conversation with Holden which ran over this part and replace that with the original music score. For that reason, the copyright holders of that music might slap adverts on this video. I apologise for this in advance.

Poor Theo. Credited as a 'Panicked Tech' His death at the hands of Cotyar I thought was quite brutal. Going off at a slight tangent, the guy who played Mao's bodyguard, in a leather jacket - Tyler Blake Smith - I read the other day that he died in 2019. Poor guy he didn't look old to me at all. I didn't find out how he died, but anyway I was very surprised at that.

I can't remember if it was in the shows, but in the books the conversation that got Bobbie the armour in the first place has one of the greatest lines in the entire series, when Chrissy asks Bobbie why she should bring it. "You give me a gun, I'm a marine. A good one, but just a solider. Get me my armour and I'm a fucking superhero" :D
And it shows how dangerous those protomolcule hybrids were, since a child was able to wipe out a whole squad of trained marines in power armor.

Yeah it's a shame the Cas Anvar story sort of canceled the show :( and made it turn into bad seasons 5 and 6... I mean they did what they could and it's not the worst way of ending a show, but until season 4 it was almost a great show without any discrepancies or bad writing.. I miss the original show so much.

I miss hearing Avasarala cussing people out
When the shooting started in this scene the reactions of her "detail" was 100% spot on. Cotyar had the gun and fired while Bobbie grabbed Avasarala to get her into cover. The writers really understood military/paramilitary thinking as it played out as you would expect.
"Do you think you could throw me in a locker? Rough me up a bit?" "To make it look like you tried to stop me?" "Uh...yeah...that...sure..."
Who on earth would believe that a twiggy electrician put up any resistance to a trained Martian soldier.

Actually it is one of many great lines the show put out because even the least important character has a back story and a screen worthy exit if needed.

Imagine how terrified those guys were at the end. They had the upper hand, everything was almost over, and out of nowhere a Martian Marine in their full exoskeleton comes, shrugs off all their shots and throws all of them into a wall with no effort.
The amusing thing is that Bobbi's armor automatically assesses the threat of targets in front of her. I can't shake the image that when she stepped onto that deck, the armor was like "Threat level: NONE. Threat level: NONE. Threat level: NONE." 😀

@@Gothic7876 Their only chance to "win" in any way would have been to shoot Avasarala. They already had their guns pointed at her. Instead they turned and focused on someone they couldn't harm with those guns in the first place.
@@Gothic7876 They were part of the conspiracy that got Draper's squad killed, they'd already betrayed Avasalara once that day, they weren't walking away from that one.
I really like that scene with Bobbie and the electrician, it felt like a genuine interaction and we've seen that type of moment too often where it ends in some creative way to kill the person and not set off "the device". Usually something like cutting off the hand first and keeping it held against the button during the fight

I never appreciated just how good of an actress Shohreh Aghdashloo is until I saw her in The Expanse.
I'd argue she's the best Iranian actress that we know of... 🤣👍
@@tyree9055 I would say she is one of the best actresses I know of, Iranian or not. She owned that role, very believable. I really miss that show. I might binge watch it again soon, if I can ever get some time off.
In the beginning, I was not sure I would like that character, but she learned and evolved and was just amazing. She really brought the character to life. They all did.

She's a Martian Marine. That's all she needs to be.
Power armor does not make a marine. What makes a marine is in your head. The power armor makes you a walking battle tank with a human mind driving it. Few things can stand that combo.
I love the end when Bobbie walks in and tosses Mau's guys around and holds out her hand to Avasarala and they are looking at her like she is a super hero. Beautiful.

Bobbie Draper s one of my favorite characters in a show full of amazing characters! If you're not watching The Expanse, start! This is what science fiction is supposed to be about! Human beings, in all our flawed, pathetic glory, peering into the darkness of space and finding ourselves. Anyone who thinks science fiction is for nerds has never read or experienced it. The questions it asks are important, even more so, these days, I think.
Such a good friggen show.
At 2:38 she kicks a grate out and it falls down the lift shaft. Given the amazing attention to detail in this show, it’s entirely possible they defined the height of that shaft, took into account the gravity strength on that ship (not necessarily exact earth gravity), air resistance and the speed of sound, and then calculated how long to wait to play the sound effect of it hitting the ground.
There shouldn't be any gravity on that ship

This is technically infeasible in the real world right now, but achieved via a contrivance of super-efficient engine design in-universe. Once halfway to their destination, ships can flip and decelerate at about 1G again, maintaining persistently simulated Earth-equivalent gravity for the entire journey.

I don't think he realized what he was facing and was hoping she would drop the gun and surrender at that point. He mistakenly thought he then had the upper hand.
Skipped the part where the elevator stops with her in it and just stands there and looks at them while they shoot at her in her armor. That look of 'ya nope' and then she steps out to kick ass.
I love how the guy had Avasarala surrendered in point-blank shot, being her the primary target and then Bobbie appears and they are nah let's better shoot the Martian marine in power armor instead of finishing the job.

what a big fckin difference between the 'strong' marvel women and Bobbie. She is right up there with Ripley, Sarah Connor in (T2), Rita Emily Blunt in Edge of Tomorrow and even Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman (not the 1984 bs)

Why do scriptwriters think that a trained soldier would throw two weapons down a rubbish chute? I know I wouldn't, nor would any other squaddie I have ever known. It's laughable. It was a great series, though.
It was the most logical thing to do in the situation, to her they were just clubs (keyed to the security personnel), but to the other ship personnel they might still function as a gun.
@@itsreal4738 I agree. Though to ome extent she should have expected as much when she grabbed the gun. That feature is standard on all martial military firearms after all. Maybe she thought that they would not have that feature being a civilian ship with civilian guns, but considering the kind of money the owner has for weaponry?
The power armor looks so cheap. And she is supposed to be like a 6'6" nordic warrior woman. She is so big they had to special order her a suit of power armor since the standard one size fits all units were too small. Think Space marine armor from 40k or from the starcraft fiction. Hell it's got a mini gun slung under one of the arms. Basically why I nerver watched this show beyond the scene where they introduce her. So much missed potential as the story is great and they did a decent job with the first season.
I mean ok she's not Brienne of Tarth but still a 5'11" Samoan, c'mon now! This is generally a realistic sci-fi show so your fantastical world of massive suits that would then require similarly large power supplies. I thought the gun sleeve was well designed under the arm, it's properly futuristic where your vision of slapping on today's tech 200 years from now is honestly rather silly. Thanks for sharing you never watched the show, glad you could get that off your chest. Have fun with your make-believe stories!

@@upholsteredhero5216from my understanding, other than being 6’6” she was exactly as described. She may be a Valkyrie, but she was never blonde. The casting agent talked in interviews about thinking a perfect match was impossible, until the actress showed up for casting.
It's not the actress you can make her look bigger, It's the combat armor looking like a scuba suit. It's more like a powered exoskeleton that she pilots. than a suit of armor It just looks so cheap. @@highlorddarkstar
