  • Walking is one of my favorite forms of exercise. Besides walking, I used to practice yoga and run. The running stopped, and the yoga part turned into stretching sessions. But walking is a natural part of life for me, and I continue to enjoy walking just for the sake of walking, and no other activity is necessary for me while walking. I enjoy being completely present and experiencing the scenery, the breeze, the sun, and my own thoughts and feelings.

  • How to be consistent in walking ? My opinion : first : get rid of car, second : adopt a dog :D keeps me walking every day 6 to 7 times a day listening to the birds and watching the trees and flowers around my building. I use a bike when I need to go further or grocery shop as I can put the baskets on the bike to carry them. So I ride a lot. This is most of my physical activity and cardio. My bike costs me 100 euros a year to maintain. I buy a new pair of sneakers 60 euros every other year. Very cheap compared to most other physical activity. On top I do a bit of stretching and yoga for free on my kitchen carpet every time I wait for the kettle to boil or a dish to cook. It also saves time as I haven't much.

  • I began to love walking when I learned that I couldn't. After my strokes, I had to learn to walk all over again. Something as simple as getting up to walk to the door was impossible. How I yearned to do the simplest movement. Walking became life to me. I used a walker at first, with assistance. I graduated to a walker on wheels and then to a cane. I have been walking now for about eight years, mostly without aid. I walk because I can! Love your thoughtful videos!

  • I walk every day and it’s a habit I’ve done since my early 20s. We have dogs so it motivates us even in bad weather. Exploring our town and trails is great exercise but also great for the mind. When we went to Paris we walked for three days straight. My feet were so sore but I felt like I got to see so much more. It was amazing.

  • Walking has always been my lifeblood. Due to severe osteoarthritis in both knees accompanied by pain with every step, I almost lost my joy in life. Now I will soon get knee prostheses. It's going to be a long and hard road. But I can't wait until I can walk again, without suffering. Thank you, Ana, for giving so much appreciation to such "ordinary" things as walking.💚

  • I started a walking routine a few years ago when my car needed some mechanical work and it was not a good idea to drive it. I work from home and starting my morning with a walk through the neighborhood. It keeps me in the present and I no longer rush into the day. I have met several people in the neighborhood I otherwise would not have if I continued driving everywhere, especially when some of those places are walkable. I've also seen a lot of treasures I otherwise would have missed driving.

  • I walk about 45 minutes a day because I had an injury 3 years ago and couldn't walk. I never want to go through that again so I keep up with the walking! There is a gym near my house and I do exercise there, but when I finish my set program, I walk laps around the perimeter of the building and that helps me get my time in especially when the weather is bad.

  • I walk to walk at least one day for week but i have to say walking at (begining at night) is so more refreshing... Even thought i need to walk the day too. I also started to love sunny mornings after being historically avoidant to sunlight but i still love a cloudy day. That's it, i started to love experiencing different flavors different weathers give to me. But even walking is difficult to shut up my spoken mind. At least it helps to me to write texts & poems.

  • Anna, I always love spending some of my Sunday with you. And I can't emphasize enough how important your last point is. My biggest disappointment with my current medical condition is losing the ability to walk for long distances (over 3 miles). It was something I took for granted. So even if you haven't enjoyed walking, go out and do it while you can. Also, please tell us what those wonderful domed brick structures are - the tops of saunas? Ovens?
