I had a cat who could open doors and a friend of mines figured out how to open the one sliding window we had in our shared apartment... Both females and yeah they both managed to come home pregnant they shared the Mom duties for both litters. 😂
A friend of mine has an ordinary house cat (no specific breed) that can open doors, play hide and seek games and only eats when the owners eat, lol

LOL when i adopted my kittens my dog actually raised them. people are shocked at how friendly our now adult cats are, they even lick our faces exactly like dogs. it’s kinda awesome and proves cats don’t always just love you for food, they just need good role models.

This really isn't a good situation. Obviously it is 5 months old and everything is all over. But what is going on here is casting. Queen thinks she is the alpha female of the pride and all kittens belong to her whether she birthed them or not. It is very common for an alpha female to take the young from another mother and if the other mother resists, she can be badly beaten, run off and ejected from the pride or even killed. Barn cats will also do this but not control mothering but to defend the kittens from rouge Toms that want to kill the kittens to bring the mother back into heat. it is a feline thing and the owners should have kept the two females apart until the kittens were weaned.
The kittens don't need to see 2 momma cats fight. The kids are better off having the humans take care of them. Josie

One woman said no she would rather the other lady have the child and the king gave her custody because only a real mom would rather give up a baby than have it killed

У меня было две кошки. Когда одна из них рожала, другая помогала ей. Отгрызала пуповину, вылизывала котят. Всё время в коробке вместе. И кормили вместе (беременели почти одинаково). Звали друг друга перед родами. Меня всегда дожидались с работы, терпели весь день, а как только я приходил, тут же начинали рожать. Иногда рядом со мной, прямо на диване. Сидел в компьютере, пил чай и "принимал роды :)))".

Giving birth to offspring is equally rewarding as it is stressful for any new parent. Cats are extraordinarily dedicated and protective of their Newly born kittens and this period in their lives brings them a short , yet short period of joy and contentment looking after their kittens. Inflicting the unwelcome attention of an “aggressive pretend mother (Queen)”, adds nothing but confusion and heartache to the “real mother (velvet)”. She should not be forced to share this once in a life time precious moments with her young kittens. The kittens will , too, inherit the blue print of their mother and the alien trait of their aggressive “part time pretend mother”. Hope the precious kittens grow up to be as adorable as their real mother and not the aggressive intruder.
This is the MOST loving story I have seen between two cats. Gotta love Queens for being such a love doll!

The owners are being really irresponsible. Seriously the two cats should be separated completely until the kittens grow up.
The thing is, the nonbiological “mother” treated them as her kittens, and mistakenly thinks she birthed them, I think. So it stresses her by being separated as much as the actual mother. Which is why they take turns.

@@autumn8920 seperating the kittens from the false mother doesn't stress her, she's only desiring to be a mother to those kittens out of jealousy and attention. Its like the typical bible tale of the two mothers claiming one child as their own. All the owners have to due is make it right, by separating the false mother from the kittens while their dependent on the actual mothers milk, then allow for her to socialize with them when their older.

Feral Cats in the wild will often let another cat babysit whilst going to find food.
Obviously, Queen is kray-kray and this is probably the best they can do in a sticky situation. Not ideal, but at least it gives Velvet time to eat and go shopping while Queen babysits.
Dude, that's human psychology, its not a delusion but rather a maternal instinct, I had two mother cats of my own give birth together, after the runt of a little of 3 started crying, my other cat that had 6 kittens, took it because she didn't think it was being taken care it.

No. But it's the internet, I can't prove shit but I can say your entirely WRONG Cats have a maternal instinct, and most people seem to be dimwitted and think that queen is delusional, but I can't blame them. The maternal instinct acts different in all animals but in cats, when the instict comes on they'll take care of kittens wether its theirs or not, often because they don't think the mother does a good enough job. I've had this happen before but both of my cats had kittens, one had 3, of which one was crying one night and the other, smaller mother with 6 kittens took it. They don't care if it's theirs or not. Its instinct and care.

I feel like the "turn way" isn't the best way for the mother cat and the savannah cat to behave around the kittens. I feel like the savannah cat should learn that those aren't her kittens, so she wouldn't be so obsessed with them.
Coparenting unrelated kittens is perfectly normal for cats. Them not being "her" kittens isn't a concept that makes sense to domestic cats and there's not really a way for her to learn it; in a colony, unrelated cats frequently take on the role of an extra mum. It is a bit awkward when the birth mother wants them to back off though.
The kittens have a mom velvet so why give them a coparent if you where to give them a coparent which is just stupid because they have a mom queen needs to learn that they aren’t her kittens she needs to be disciplined

I remember my mother telling me when she was young, they had 2 mama cats have kittens a day apart. The cats names were Mama Purr and Boots. They both had 4 kittens. Well, Mama Purr wasn't having it, so she stole one of Boots kittens. Boots would take it back. This went in for a few days, until Boots gave in and let Mama Purr raise her kitten. Mama Purr just wanted to have the most babies.
