Used to carry 5 gallon bucket of water for like 30 ft and had to fill up 4 50 gallon barrel for family's horses. Hadda do it 3x a week. Where I live at we had to drive 2 miles to a watering hole. Not to mention hauling fire wood each winter as we only had wood burning stove. Had a good core, not toned or anything, but I could move pretty quick for a 250 lbs guy. I think doing such chores kept me from having bad spine in a bus accident during high school despite being overweight. Notice how everything involves your legs too. The skeletal muscles in your legs are huge, and developing those muscles will increase that metabolic rate way more than pounding away at the tiny muscles in your arms. Having those large leg muscles developed is going to help your overall leanness and make those abs actually show up.
