  • Pride rules were way better. If the idea is to display real combat kicking downed opponents must be legal. Its banned because its the only thing you should ever do in a real world situation. Get the opponent down. Get space. Kick him. You cant truly say this discipline or that discipline is supreme with it out it being in play. A lot of wrestling and jujitsu are only optimal because of rules limiting options.

  • So how is karate combat different from kickboxing, aside from ground and pound?

    @guywithtrash231@guywithtrash23111 ай бұрын
    • In karate they have more "karate style” strikes, for example on how they throw their techniques. another difference is how in karate combat they have the ability to perform upkicks, while the fighters who are standing can execute ground and pound techniques. following a duration of 5 seconds, both fighters are raised back to a standing position.

      @cuthisface@cuthisface11 ай бұрын

    • Correct, it's not sports karate. It's basically MMA with more focus on stand-up which basically negates the BJJ part. I don't even think they do much clinching, which means more of the rules favour styles like karate, taekwondo and hence why they're calling it karate combat.
