If it’s against ur religion, so what? It doesn’t affect you. If it’s bothering you that people who are different from you are equal, then you are part of the problem. That’s why I’m settling with Biden, because even thought he’s not great, he’s a better option than trump and will always be better.

He understood that nothing is black and white. So many people forget that Trump is just obsessed with Obama and his legacy. It really shows his true colors and I never understood why anybody would support trump. Then again being the first black president and helping legalizing gay marriage was probably the straw that broke racist/religious America's back.

  • Let me give you my opinion as a Canadian. This man was the epitome of The United States’s strength in the world. His confidence, his eloquence when he talks, the way he carries himself, the respect he had for others, and the empathy without lack of strength that defined his communicational dominance. If you leave politics out of it, and simply analyze the characteristics of Obama and your current president, you can see how the US has lost its international respect. When I was growing up, I (like many of my peers and fellow Canadian citizens) viewed the US as larger than life. You branded yourself the greatest country in the world; and regardless of our national pride, we could understand why. You had the country where dreams could come true. Where you could make it big, get rich, get more opportunities than anywhere else. Canada, as well as the rest of the world, looked up to you. While Obama did not represent the political views of every American citizen, his persona reflected your ideals. His strength and power of speech was a representation of the power you had internationally. But now; in 2020, that is gone. The world no longer looks up to the United States. A country that had long thought to be the strongest, the best, the wiser older brother, is no longer on top. A country once at the forefront of the expansion of scientific knowledge reduced to arguing scientific credibility. We still talk about your country, but largely to mock your current state of affairs. What was once an “I’m glad we are so close with the United States” has become an “I’m glad that I’m not a citizen of that country”. Truly cruel fate from being at the top of the podium. A once magnificent wildfire of red white and blue diminished to a small flame, an unfortunate fall from grace to be sure. While we still understand your strength, we have lost that respect that you had deservedly earned in previous years. Donald trump, whether you agree with his views or not, is not a man that the world respects. His presence, his persona, the way he carries himself is a testament to the overwhelming divide that plagues your country. An unfortunate time in a prestigious history to say the least. All is not lost, but I’m afraid that Biden as a personality is not much different. My hope for you from an American supporter is that your flame will burn high and mighty once again, and those stars on your flag will signify your astronomical world strength once again in the future.

    • This is the essence of what I feel now, as a romanian kid, far away from the stars and stripes. During the Obama administration, which thankfully was ongoing during my formative teenage years, I have garnered a great respects towards the United States of America, due in no small part to Barack Obama. Now say what you will about his dijon mustard and his dad jeans, but we've had it easy with him at the helm of the world. I thank him for being my "adoptive president", as I would probably be a different man today without him showing me what a true leader can be capable of. Nevertheless, my love, admiration and respect for the US has slowly been eroded by what I feel has been a shift from truth, "factual" science and democracy towards lies, "religious" science and autocracy. We, both the american people and the rest of the world, have not had a day off in 4 years and, regardless of who wins this election, the frustration continues. The US's reputation has been irreversibly tainted by the unceremonious display of ignorrance, insensitivity and dishonesty at the highest level in the land. Let's hope it gets better but remember, it might never be as good as when a skinny kid with a funny name held office. Honestly, thanks, Obama.

A name you don't foreget, along with a photo of a handsome man with a wide open smile. Then came this speech at the Democrat convention. It was mesmerizing and thrilling to hear his words about no blue or red states ... but the United States of America. My favorite president, ever!
