You passed a '60 Chevy. I had one with the 235-6 CYL. Two door, great car. Matt, I'm 71 years old. And I enjoy going through this junk yard, and seeing the old vehicles.
that was a memory lane to history.
Nothing like A-blast from the past! My 1st car was a 1964, Ford Fairlane
I don't even have words for all the cool ideas and projects went through my mind as you walked through there. I would love to spend the rest of my life just doing through that place car by car, truck by truck and rescue what you can. Let all the history and soul of that stuff live on.
do you know where this yard is
@@roberttaynor6893 This is out in the midwest somewhere. I saw some stickers from music stations in IOWA . If you email him he may give you the contact info.
I absolutely love that gas station tow truck
It is truly an honor. Pride
26:48 damn dude. you dunno what a 68' dodge charger looks like? debatably the best muscle car of its era. and possibly of all time.
GOOD old people made good old machins I LOVE ALL THAT STUF VERY GOOD VIDEO
The blue 57 Chevy truck shift pull push knob is for a two speed rear axle. Essentially giving the truck 8 gears. It worked very well. Spent my youth driving one hauling sugarbeets.
Than you for a great tour must be hundreds of thousands dollars worth of spare parts in there badge emblems of the very old cars there is some very desirable one thank for showing loved it take care all 👍😀🇬🇧
A huge Awesome thank you for the tour
Great job with the video!! I would love to pick this yard! You asked for identification of some of the cars, 20:34- 1968 Plymouth Sport Satellite, 21:03- 1960 Plymouth Fury, 21:58- Plymouth Volare w/ Road Runner package, 25:50- 1970 Plymlouth Satellite, 26:01- 64-65 Dart GT, 26:23 - 26:41- 1968 Dodge Charger! 33:57- 1968 Dodge Coronet, (blue, stacked on top) 38:50- 1968 Mercury Cyclone, 39:57- 69 Plymouth Road Runner, 40:56- 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee, 44:46- 1969 Dodge Coronet, 45:20-48:58- Camaro/Firebirds. I would love to buy the steering column and pedal assembly out of the 69 Super Bee, (and many of the other Mopars) If they will let you pull parts.
were is this at
Its not so much a "junk" yard but a memory lane to history. Every one of them a piece of Americana or worldliness with a past in prime storylines from classic automotive to industrial design. Every time i see or visit places such as these I am humbled by their majestic beauty and while they will someday disappear forever I am thankful for them. May they all Rust in Peace and thank you for these videos.
The automotive boneyard such as this one is a phenomenon that started around 1950. Prior to that, scrapped vehicles were recycled as part of the war effort and usable vehicles were kept and used longer than they might otherwise be. Had this property been suitably fenced and a herd of 6 or more goats kept, it would not have been so overgrown. Awesome video!
Makes me so sad seeing these beauties rotting away
it is an honor
The international scout is very quickly becoming more and more rare to find whole. Even if you got it out and flipped it you could make some cash.
They have been a great favorite of the prepper crowd. No electronics to fail after a nuke etc etc .
I have 4 of them 74,76,79,80. 80 was the last year. Also have 73 3/4 ton and 75 1/2 ton.
That whole area needs clearing and everything needs cutting for scrap.
The mail Jeeps have got the steering wheels on the right side!! Hi from the UK.
Lol... sure makes mail delivery easier!
Still the wrong side.
@@xx1590 In England the right side.
Well. Mailboxes are on the right side of the road.
From Australia - you can say it's the *correct* side... :)
Pull it all out!! cool, thanks for sharing, junk yards never get old! And I worked in one for 10 years!
So special to see a yard with so many 70-80's cars, but whats amazing is that they have so many 40's, 50's & early 60's ! Awesome ! I would get rid of anything that are too far gone & see whats left.
Back in my younger years I loved junkyards like you , well one day we came across a 68 panel truck that was liquor delivery truck well we found 15 -20 bottles of unopened liquor needless to say we partied till the wee hours lol 😂 thanks for the videos
Look friend, I have no words for that place what a shame what a waste !!! Thank you for sharing keep strong and healthy Warm regards !!!
Amazing place! How much splendor there. A paradise for those who restore old cars, because here they can find original parts for them that do not exist today! This place should be saved from oblivion. Warm greetings from far away Poland! :-) I am waiting impatiently for the next episodes.
Awesome place full of old stories. Thanks for taking us with you and for your thoughts, I appreciate this...
I totally loved the video I walk through a old junk yard up here in Minnesota and have rescued a lot of old cars from it I agree with you totally about old cars and the old school ways I heard you say that and I'm like there's my long lost brother lol you're awesome dude keep up the good work
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure.
That was quite the journey! Thank you so much for bringing us along for the ride. Too bad it's only an art exhibit now, kinda makes me sad. As a lifelong car guy that was very emotional!! Now, let's get back to Old Red's head gasket and pony motor. Thanks for sharing your passion!!
This looks like all the cars and trucks surrounding the local Baseball Diamond back in the 50's and 60's. That was a scene to behold.
I think the words your looking for about old cars is works of art.
This was wonderful. All theses cars and trucks were with me in my woung days love it think you...
We really love this video it was great to see all the cars and trucks that have come and gone and the fact that you can still tell what they are
Good to see that even someone who is definitely not a car guy can appreciate the beauty of old iron. There was grace and style in those times. People cared for the look and feel of massive style. The 57 and 59 Buicks you passed up were comfort machines that ran hard. Too bad you weren't around back then to see the beauty and style going down the road unnoticed, Thanks for sharing.
That 62 Chevy BelAir you walked by looked good from what i could see! Lots of good useable parts there for sure!
This is heaven for people who needs parts for old cars restauration👍👍😎
ULTRA AWESOME looking forward till the next one
Awsome video, brought back alot of memories, Thanks. You give me hope youngman. Keep up tge honest vids.
Thank you for the tour of the old parts yard 👍
Great & awesome video of this paradise place. Thanks!
Sitting on a gold mine hard to find of parts. The right people got in there and bought stuff to resale the family could make a few coins. After the pickers go through then all the money that's left in scrap. Wow. Neat place. Awesome video. 👍
Thanks for the old time junk yard trip I really enjoyed it
That was a 1962 Bel Air bubble top. WOW
Dude, they don't make cars and trucks like that anymore. I love old junkyards.
Thanks for the tour. I was 16 in 1969, so seeing the same model cars my friends drove, made me remember them. All those car doors being left open was probably someone looking for silver money under the seats.
I love all the old wreckers. Im sure a few could tow again with work.
Thanks so much h for the tour. My favourite piece in there was the old truck with the big search light on the back k. That would make a wild restoration project. Bruce/ 🇨🇦
Thank you for sharing! That was cool!
I was born in January 1962. Never felt so old. I remember so many of those cars when they were new. I knew what most of the ones were when you would say "what is that". Old Mopars are my thing. Rode around in a friends Super Bee in high school.
same here only I was born in '44 - love them
Great find I love those old cars like me what fun thanks
Interesting place I love junkyards this video is awesome ! Thank you so much for showing us this amazing place ! Just think of the story each vehicle would have to tell it would be astonishing. !
Quite the collection for sure. Thanks for sharing. Video back in time.
Thanks for joining me!
Can't wait for the next treasure hunt 😃👍
Normally I don't see or read comnents on YT, nor would I leave one. I want to thank you for this video and for the carefully thought words in the description. Keep going, keep discovering, and keep that track loader project going.
I would love to do exactly what you are doing now, there is loads of usable pars on all them cars, thank you for sharing this with us love it 😀👍
That Super Bee probably had a hemi engine in it and that's why it was gone.
Enjoyed all of the video I love old equipment also thanks keep them coming
I am a old senior citizen I grew up like a lot of viewers in this time of great old cars & trucks. Like others I have owned and drove a lot of them. These cars were designed at a time when auto companies were not always looking at the profit and loss sheets. I can remember when often bumpers and finders were used in more than one year. A dealer would only have a few models in stock, you would look at the models and order the one you wanted, like you wanted it. Today you go into a dealer and take it or leave it. If you notice auto makers are now going out of their way to fix items you can not repair yourself. Even simple things like a alternator. You have to g to dealer for repair so they can use their computer soft ware to make it work. More and more things are becoming "Dealer Items Only". The high price is only the beginning they have you locked in and force you to come back to them. Great video, thanks for taking the time to make it and share with all of us.
There was a time believe it or not car companies could not and would not make a car that even resembled another car companies cars it was against the law. Namely collusion that would have been the end for the copy cat now you see what we have just run of the mill plastic junk the 2021 cars will not be in a junk yard with trees growing up through them the sun will wither then into a blob of goo.
Im 59 yrs old been in the automotive industry all my life and been thru hundreds of salvage yards in my life my father and uncles worked in dealerships n performance shops and this video brings back so many good memories of my childhood of great old days not like salvage yards of today a warehouse with pallet racks and a dumb ass infront of a computer that still doesn't have a clue of what ur looking for or what it is when ya do explain it to him
DUDEZILLA! Talk about "information overload"!!!! Like you, I would be in HEAVEN looking at all the old cars and trucks!
It's just straight OVERLOAD in ALL ways!
thanks for letting us see that place
Thank you!!! For the history tour.
Thank you for that. Saw a lot of stuff I’d like to restore.. it’s getting harder to find places like that..
Excellent video it's nice to see all the old vehicles that must have been a wrecking yard since the 1940s there used to be a few them yards in my area but they got cleaned up
Hi, my name is Dave. I am a good friend of Mike. I also know the original owner of the junk yard. He also was a good friend of mine. I use to buy parts from him, his name was Ron.
Great tour .... love it!
Great 👍 video bro. I really enjoy the junkyard tours.
In 2009 a couple fellows purchased 80+ acres for a reported $300K. This land was covered in vehicles similar to what you showed here. They set up a crusher at the access point and proceeded to move vehicles. They only crushed those that were smashed up so bad they were non salvageable for any parts. After 3 years the property was fairly clean with hundreds of vehicles from the 1930's to the late 1990's. The scrap that was sold paid over half the cost of the purchase. I heard the guys had sold everything off the property and were going to subdivide it, don't know how that went.
I think WOW is an understatement! 😆
So awesome !! Part 2 I'm so stoked !! This so totally just made my weekend !! That old International Scout was in pretty decent shape rough but decent. The tree growing through bumper on the mail Jeep is classic !! You are 100% right old cars and tools have all the style and were built with American Steel and built to last!! When you were standing up on top of the cars and you ask what kind of car the green car was it look like a 68 or 69 Dodge Charger because the gas tank would have been on the driver side rear quarter panel up by the back window. So much history here there are probably not many yards like this left there are 2 around where I live . Even the old school buses had Style. Who needs a time machine . I surely hope that they don't scrap or Crush anything worth value ! I really enjoyed this video it was so AWESOME !! Such amazing collection of everything for years so much history and a lot of cool projects or parts to be had here I know you can't take it all but hopefully it goes to good use to someone. Great video is always !!👍👍
Thanks for joining me Robert! I agree, I hope it doesn't all head for the scrap yard either, but I plan to do what I can to help them avoid that if possible! Problem is, the scrap yard is the EASIEST way to deal with it, and that alone could take YEARS to clean out! I do hope to pull a few really cool rat rod / mad max / custom build vehicles out of there if I can! We'll just have to see!
@@SalvageWorkshop I found a guy in Illinois with a whole Treasure Trove of vintage Machine Tools 2 metal lathes, vertical milling machine ,power hacksaw, a belt-driven drill press ,very large stationary drill, also too large presses this address was on Facebook by sell and trade hope this helps you
From the looks of everything, it appears that there may have been a flood at one time and moved a lot of stuff around with the flood waters. Very interesting place. Thanks.
Each and everyone of those vehicles has a life it lived and a story to tell. If only they could talk.
A trip down memory lane!!
Dennis Collins would probably love those old Mail Jeeps.
Very enjoyable. thanks for sharing
i just found your channel tonight and i am happy i am not the only that is trying to keep the past alive be it tools cars etc i hope they part them out and save what can be saved rather then scrap it
Thank you for taking the time to do this videos. I feel the same way about old stuff. I would rather have something old vs something new anymore.
The EPA wouldn’t allow you to operate any of that gear.
I loved the tour. Thank you!
That Gold 62 Impala Bubbletop you walked straight past at the start of the vid $$$
Fascinating.
Your Drone footage of this junkyard is phenomenal! There are so many cars, trucks, and equipment, that it would take you 6 months to a year to catalog them all.
Yes wonderful vehicles thanks for sharing 🦘🇦🇺👍
I see some crazy cool up cycling projects in there, it would take a month of sundays to get all the badges and stuff to up cycle for em, but it would be fun! Thanks for sharing this!
I totally agree! Finding ways to reuse parts of these cars is definitely something I'd like to do! We'll have to see what happens!
An army of car restores crying now I need that part someone got to try and save some of it 👍🏴
OH MY GOD! I want to walk that place with you! MY HEAD IS SPINNING! So many potential projects so little time! You need to grab that loader the trailer and the Kenworth!
_rest of the car rusting away_ Chrome: "I'm fine, look how pretty I am!"
Gladiator grille wagoner! Lot of really cool cars in there
That's truly amazing, loved going through there, I'm calling out cars i see and my daughter's looking at me funny 😆. That little green sports car is a Fiat, there was a dodge charger that you couldn't identify. So amazing but so sad to see as well.
Yep, Fiat 850 Spider
The Florida pool pump motor repair guy approved ! that was good info SW
Love all your videos. Good stuff 👍👍👍
That Datsun truck you we're climbing on is a 1965 it's pretty rare truck!! I've seen a lot of rare vehicles in this video!👍👍
Insane. Sad ole Bone yard Thanks for sharing Bro
You are walking through American history......... Each vehicle has it's own story. Just IMAGINE if they could talk...... Thanks for taking the time to bring us along.
Thank you that’s awesome.
That Land has seen allot of flooding. to rescue Now, is an understatement. cause that iron is decaying back to earth, lots nice salvageable stuff there.
great to see the old cars and trucks also a bit sad to see all of the old cars and trucks rusting away
very cool toor of an old time junk yard
That yellow '58 Buick was a beast of a car in its day. That's some heavy metal, and luxurious too. That, to me, is one example of the height of automotive design.
Thank you for an awsome video.
Awesome I loved it would love to be there.
Besides the old cars the beautiful marvel saw the 50 ton press the pond intrigues me the most
Love these videos. I have to agree I love old cars and equipment and people definitely don't have much respect for those nowadays. There's so much stuff that could be saved or rebuilt but people would rather just make a quick buck. Thanks for all the hard work that you do and making these videos.
I appreciate that! Thanks for joining me!
It doesn't help that the first president that many of this generation remembers, made these vehicles out to be villains, and crushed a million of them. Now fast forward, and auto makers are having a heck of a time trying to get this generation interested in vehicles. They'd rather live at home and drive whatever mom has for free.
