49:06 - There's the lovable Roar!
41:59 is not just my favorite logo. It’s OUR favorite logo
Anyone who can make such concise and well done videos deserves a round of applause.
30:54 From?
Man, I really liked the pink panther variant so much, in fact, I might consider it to be one of the best/ my favourite movie variants ever.
What’s the music in the 1926 one
Fun fact: Leo was the youngest at the time MGM filmed him roaring, you can tell by his much smaller mane in comparison to the others
30:24 Possibly one of the few MGM shorts that actually teared me up at the end. The choir at the ending still makes me shed a tear.39:33 If anyone can use the current MGM logo with the fanfare here to show what Ben-Hur would be like upon remastering the OG and make it a video, I would be forever grateful...it would work perfectly with how the zoom-in would sync with the music.
16:15?
hi sirbahamut
a lion
🦁🦁🦁
a lion say ROAR!!!
I like MGM the lion is awesome. Also I like the 12th logo from 1957-1987 and the 15th logo from 1986-2009 those logos were incredible.
Mgm has had a great way of making films possible and that's great.
MGM got serious with their logo in the 1960s. It’s more profound with a static image.
Ive always wondered if Metro and Mayer simply didn’t have any on film logos or if they were lost in the 67 vault fire, ‘cause I know a lot of the pre merger films burned in the fire
when I watch glamorous Old Hollywood movies from MGM I have three songs stuck in my head. 💛Whoa, we're halfway there... Whoa-oh, Livin' On A Prayer...💛 🎬Better stand tall when they're calling you out, don't bend, don't break, baby don't back down...🎬 (It's My Life) 🎞🤍Shot through the heart, and you're to blame, darlin' you give love a bad name...🤍🎞 All of which are in my head while watching Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, sometimes both!
The first Goldwyn lion looked really cute. I love that after the merger, and before the talkies era, the M-G-M (classic abbreviation) lion (what was his name?) just sat there and looked around right to left. Then Leo with his roar changed everything!
Salts
Slats
Actully, lovely_Yt, His name was Slats. Not Salts.
Graham?
hello ron avena
Leo was Speechless after the door closed on the pink panther one.
I had no idea Leo The Lion had a down-to-earth slice of life style and family when the camera's are turned off.
let alone a snazzy getup.
@@bardthenascarfanaticdragon That too.
@@colinmulder6806 yeah.
@@bardthenascarfanaticdragon Not to mention the other characters from previous MGM animation movies know about him as well.
@@colinmulder6806 Like Tom and Jerry.
44:12 Prototype Alternate 44:22 Original New
The prototype scares me
44:22 Is Actually A Variant
Since you did Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer History and MGM Home Entertainment History, Can you now please do MGM Television Logo History?
49:05 And thus, the tiger dubbed roar begun.
Man that's a lot a logos (and some posters)
8:29 Cuando su pantalla es naranja, su logo de cierre dice: A Metro Goldwyn Picture.
Bill The Lion from 1927-1928 was used in two movies and they were The Heart Of General Robert E Lee and Buffalo Bills Last Fight
"America needs your money! Buy war bonds and stamps at this theater." -MGM in WW2

7:48 Тот самый пурпурный логотип...
Thanks, Man!!!!
Jackie was like, "no worries everyone. I'm just here."

My Movie! YAY!

Link to it?
7:46 Esta versión morada es de 1925 y el león no es Slats, es Jackie.
Thank you guys 🙂

I wonder how did Goldwyn managed to get Metro and Mayer to adopt the lion, when they both had funny looking birds as their logos?
i Think it had something to do with Metro and mayer Being absorbe into Goldwyn pictures and not the other way around. + it could also have something to do with what the lion symbolizes. but i coul be wrong
@@mathiasJUSTsvendsen Context: Goldwyn bought out Metro to create “Metro-Goldwyn”. They then bought Louis B. Mayer Pictures or Mayer to form MGM.
Fun fact: before let the word come "godwin" and the lion, appears a bird in a ring in 1915
22:44 OMG! MY MOVIE! THE WIZARD OF OZ!
I like it
laço
Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies.
I'm watching Tom & Jerry while watching this.
Benjamin Krawetzki I love Tom and Jerry.
Me too
R.I.P. Gene Deitch (1924-2020) gone but never forgotten.
a spanish voiceover variant can be heard on 3 tom and jerry cartoons on the spotlight collection 2. the episodes are: polka-dot puss, puss n' toots, and one other episode on disc 2.
Then I'll Find
nice intro
Scorbunny: Leo the Lion has been in the logo for a very long time. He's 62 right now and he has Lana (His wife) and three kids.
Hayley Waalen Can you not
Well according to research, a male lion's lifespan reaches 8 through 10 years. So therefore, he might've been dead by now.
35:51 That Wolf
6:13 sounds like Champion Film Co.
From Missouri
Nice video
Requested: can you please do 20th century fox history like a full version
I see that MetroMetro-goldwyn-Mayer is your favorite Logo and I was wondering if you have any logo histories for Columbia Pictures? Let me know and BTW How did you gather all these MGM logos? Have a great day!
There is one logo that you’re forgot to add is from the original “Annie” where that logo variant was shown after the song “Let’s Go To The Movies” where it doesn’t appeared in this logo history. kzhead.info/sun/bL1yld2FkHlppZ8/bejne.html
16:42 Ugh... i see why they dont do that anymore. (in other words, not their best logo) Edit: 23:36 oh Nvm i forgot about that one which is much better (which is actually pretty impressingly made atleast by the time it was given)
