    • Currently living through this scenario. I am determined not to lose my kids. I have had to let certain things go that put my own happiness into question to make it happen. I feel like the fruit of my efforts is only a few short weeks away. They say you should only prepare for success. The next few days I've got some hard work ahead of me. Eyes on the prize. I know this woman better than she knows herself, I do not wish her I'll but I am not letting her cheating ass have it her way. We can either both be happy or neither of us will be. She has never seen me play hard ball. For her own good she had better agree to my very reasonable demands. I have forgiven her for too much already. This time she doesn't get the by.

    • Believe me, I know exactly what you're going through. My ex and his new bitch of a wife lied about me and my family doing some disgusting things because my kids hate them both, their spoiled bratty stepsister, and just not being happy. My kids told the truth and now my sperm donor and his waste of space are mad at my kids for not lying for them. Now that I have them bent over a barrel and am in the process of showing them all 50 states and US territories, they'll follow my word like holy writ. Everything will get better. Lawyer up if you need to. If you live in California, I have a damn good attorney.

His scenes in Liar Liar are the funniest in the "the pen is blue!" sequence, the getting pulled over scene ("..while driving through a red light and speeding!!"), his lines to the guys at the impound lot, and numerous others. Carrey was one of the funniest actors of the 90s. Another funny guy, one of the funniest characters of the 80s and 90s is Eddie Murphy, his character Axel Foley in the Beverly Hill Cop movies was hilarious in many different scenes. And his character Buddy Love in The Nutty Professor was hilarious in the scene at the club where he jumped onto the stage hilariously getting back at Dave Chappell for earlier insulting his heavy alter-ego Professor Klump. Murphy's characters have been good at jumping onto a stage uninvited and making whatever was previously happening 10 times funnier, he did the same thing in Beverly Hills Cop 3 while criminal suspect Ellis DeWalt (who Axel knew was no good) was giving a presentation on stage, lol

  • As an aspiring screenwriter, I think despite the zany premise, this is one of the most well written comedy scripts ever. I love how Fletcher wants to be partner, gets it, but still isn't happy. I love how Jerry is portrayed as very kind hearted (you'd expect him to be the villain) and you feel for Cary Elwes when he has to split with Audrey. Can't forget the hilarious side characters like Greta. Lastly, when Fletcher rides the stairs to catch the plane, you totally buy it, even thought it's absolutely insane. Anyway, no one here is for a lecture but yeah, this movie should get more recognition for its screenplay.

      @obscure.reference@obscure.reference2 жыл бұрын
    • @@obscure.reference It's not that bad a script, and it sure is one of the funniest scripts. Jim Carrey is a legend of the 90s. However, there is one plot point I didn't care for, when court is adjourned. Jim Carry/Fletcher knows that his wife and son will leave him behind and go to Boston if he doesn't hurry over there to see them as soon as court is out. But the moment it is, Fletcher suddenly decides to aggravate the judge with rambling that is certainly not more important to him than his concern up til that moment on losing his son. And only after the judge throws him in contempt (and after being warned beforehand too!), Fletcher then suddenly switches back to "Oh, I gotta see my son! I can't be held in contempt, I gotta see my son!", where the hell was his mind on that matter while he was rambling to the judge and ignoring his warning about being held in contempt!? That was just the one part of this movie that annoyed me. But most likely of course that whole bit played out that way just so his ex and son would leave for the airport making him think it may be too late, and therefore leading to the entire climatic scenes at the airport and Fletcher chasing the plane down on the mobile stairs. It was a good scene, but they just should've found a less brainless way to cause Fletcher to miss out on his son again and have to now chase them to the airport

    • @@alvexok5523 i don’t think it’s a bad script at all, it’s perfectly competent and avoids a lot of traps that other “divorced dad” media falls into, like cary elwes being a really decent man and jim carrey, though not a great father, puts in genuine effort. it’s got a lot of heart, definitely not a bad script. but there are much better comedy scripts, and comedy films. for instance raising arizona, hot fuzz, in the loop, life aquatic, and really anything of that genre of comedy. this one is fine and all, but it’s pretty by the numbers in terms of narrative structure and many of the jokes and the core running joke of jim carrey being unable to lie rely on his physical performance, which is a crutch for the screenwriter. imo it’s too low brow and too much of a jim carrey vehicle to really deserve that title.

  • This is one of my absolute favourite Jim Carrey scenes. The bit at 3:10 😂😂😂 8:19 and 8:29 also proves Fletcher is a good man, he realised he made a massive mistake and his ego cost that man his children.
