"What drugs were they on" Oh sweet child... all of them, all of them.
Studio 54 anyone?
Notice : nobody is talking about today's music . I believe the cellphone and the internet stripped everyone of creativity and individualality . Today's youth don't have the concept of life without a cellphone .
That’s exactly what I said when she asked that question!🤣
Haha! That's exactly what I was thinking!
LMFAOOOOO😂
I’m Gen Z (born in 2001), but can I still declare blasphemy on Jack for not knowing who Freddie Mercury *or* Elton John were? Props to Lucas, though. He was educated on the 70s and lot more!
*I only listen to the more know Queen songs and, none from Elton, but I can recognize them, and I hate when people said "I know that guy from a new song they featuring on", such a disrespect for the talent*
I loved how many times Jason was flabbergasted at Jack's lack of knowledge 😂
😂
"Carry on my wayward son"......everytime i hear it, i always see in my mind final episodes of "Supernatural"-seasons.
Jason: "So you've never heard the Whitney Houston version?" Jack: "Who?" Jason: *Has a brief stroke*
Same
😂😂
Jack was killing me here. I felt Jason's pain. And when he watches this and sees that even Lucas knew a few, I hope he feels bad.
Any Supernatural fan knows “Carry on my Wayward son”
Remember back in 2006
That was in Supernatural?! I know it from having a hippy dad that listened to classic rock most of the time!
@@JacksonOwex yup there are a lot of great songs in that show. Since the Winchesters are from Kansas, it fits that they included a song by Kansas.
@@JacksonOwex the final episode of each season started with the words "The road so far..." then Carry on Wayward Son would play while a recap vid showed. I was kinda hoping the show would end with Dust in the Wind, but it ended with a cover of Carry on Wayward Son, which works.
It’s been on my playlist ever since Supernatural 😊
How Jason managed not to break down during the shoot is beyond me. 😄 I love Jack but I finally lost it when his reply to "Whitney Houston?" was "who?!" 😂
Fortunately he just didn't hear who he said, he DID know who she was! Not that he is forgiven for not knowing who Freddy and Elton were!
Somebody, who? Somebody, who? Somebody who loves me.
I know who Whitney is!
@@antoniomarin9061 Good one!
I’m gen z and knew 90% of these songs and artists and I got mad when Jack didn’t know Freddie Mercury
She says what was the drug of the 70's. All of them. 🤣
“This is why there are so many people today, cause you had all baby making music.” Is a great quote.
9:32 for a second there Jason was genuinely concerned Jack had never heard Whitney Houston’s name before 😂
I mean, he didn't know some of the others not knowing her wouldn't have surprised me all that much! Makes me wonder what the hell he listens to though!
@@JacksonOwex but to not even recognise her name would be another level 😂 clearly he just didn’t hear though
The song "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" is about potential nuclear war during the Cold War (Cuban Missile Crisis), with the rain being a metaphor for nuclear missiles (ICBMs) and bombs.
Jair: What drugs were being done in the 70s? Me: All of them!
Lucas! You are impressing the hell out of me! I am really amazed at how many of these you know! Not only the songs and the groups but trivial facts too! Rock on a little buddy!
"What drugs were being done in the 70s?" ALL OF THEM!
Jason: Have you heard the Whitney Houston version Jack: Who? Me: oh god no
Carry On Wayward Son has now became the anthem for the show Supernatural.
Yep. It's the Season Finale Anthem 😊
@@laurabeane8862 Series Finale
Lucas is by far one of the most musically educated reactors from React. Jaxon as well. They know more music from the 70s, 80s and 90s than most people who were born in those decades. I'm an 80s baby so I knew most of the songs as well...
70s music is my dad’s (born in 1959) favorite so I’ve known 70s music my whole life (born in 1996). In my opinion, nothing compares to the 70s rock!
The Smiths 💀i cant
I was born in 66 and can’t believe that Lucas knows more of these and he is the youngest of them all.
Probably due to his parents or even grandparents. Like I am familiar with songs way before my time (born in 81). My grandparents were a big fan of big band music and country (they're from the greatest generation).
Carry on my wayward son awakes a whole fandom
I love that Jair and Lucas know some these classic tunes and artists. Way to go, you two! 😊 👍🏽
I blame Gen Z's parents for not instilling in them good taste for older music. I'm a millennial and my parents had me listening to tons of older music and I still enjoy them to this day.
I’m on the cusp of millennial/gen z having been born in the very beginning of Jan ‘97 and I knew all these songs.
You know that YOU(and I; or people our age at least) are the parents of Gen Z(mostly) right? You are blaming yourself!
Boomer here. The 70s to Z'ERS were thirty and/or more years ago for these young people. Were WE listening to Swing, Big Band and early Jazz in the 70s?
“What drugs were they on?” Child, what drugs weren’t they on?
Was born 1980 grew up in the 90s but I love the 70s,80,90. Stevie Nicks is amazing
Wayward son was FINALLY included, I am content now
My favorite song that they show is Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas and it became even more popular because of Supernatural
Growing up in the 70s and 80s was the best!! I wouldn't trade it for anything!! We had the best of both. The end of one and the beginnings of another ..
Didn't expect to shed a tear during this video... Lost my father five months ago, and One of These Nights was his favorite song :(
Im surprised nobody mentioned Supernatural on that song
Has Jack ever been outside? Was there anything in his brain before TikTok existed?
Been outside so many times
@@JackJerry OK, good. Just checking.
As someone that was 10 in 1970 and 20 at the end of the decade, serving in the British forces by then. I have to say we grew up with some of the best music, no auto tune what you saw is what you got. top billing bands still played in affordable local venus (Jimi Hendrix played at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone kent in 1970) Still love to see the reactions of the younger generations when listening for the 1st time to what we had. Keeps the music alive.
Props to jair for knowing many genres of music especially this which is 20 years before her birth her folks raised her with music that's awesome
Gen Z, we are about to play something called music. It went extinct around the year 2000.
Im a 90’s baby and i knew every song within seconds of them starting lol
Well yeah, they put them on the screen for us at home!
Carry on wayward son was the unofficial theme song of supernatural and they played at the 13th season comic-con
How do they not know Freddie Mercury?!
The Bee Gees has some AMAZING songs! The soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever is 🔥🔥🔥
27 and knew every song and artist. 60's and 70's music is the definition of music.
KANSAS! YES! 5 of my favorite concerts, as well as the Eagles and RUSH, ELO, Fleetwood Mac (had a HUGE thing for Stevie Nicks) and Queen! Yup, saw them all 5 times!
Jack calling Led Zepplin, Dixie Chicks are you kidding me?
Jason is not wrong about the body hair in the 70s. My dad back then had long hair and a Grizzly Adams beard.
Yeah saw pictures of my grandfather during the 70's and all the dudes had that open button shirt long hair with beard then there's my granddad clean cut wearing his 3 piece suit looking like he's gonna offer you a deal you can't refuse.
@@hittkid6312 So your granddad was Don Corleone? 😉😁
"What drugs were being done in the 70's?" All of them, honey. All of them.
I'm so glad you said that because I had a list going that wasn't finding an end. The first one to come to mind, since they're all but extinct is the humble quallude.
@@HealthyDisrespectforAuthority I miss Thai sticks, myself. Haven't seen one since the 80's, but man, they were tasty!
@@HealthyDisrespectforAuthority 7:14 and we weren't talking the time of the day...
@@Serai3 oh that kinda brings back memories.. '78 for me though.. moving year.
YEEESSSSSSSS!! Get these youngins listening to the wonderful music that was in the 70s!! THIS WAS GREAT!! MORE MORE MORE...PLEASE!! Try some 60s too please!!
This! This right here!
The 70s. There will never be another time like it.
That’s so true! The best decade ever!
Its absolutely a hilarious watching Jack not even knowing Freddie Mercury OR Elton John and then there's little Lucas just naming so many.
I feel like Jaxon would have been perfect for this video. He’s usually good with older music
Happy I got you all talking :) 😂
Any “Supernatural” fans…👀
Where's the pie
@@nomercyfilms 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
🙌🙌
I guess Kansas is coming up?
I love Jack, he's a great person but DUDE!! NOT KNOWING WHO FREDDY OR ELTON JOHN ARE?
I know who they are 😂
React to Hocus Pocus by Focus on their appearance on The Midnight Special October 5th 1973. There's a reason that appearance is special and it's because the song is supposed to be 7 minutes long but they were given 4 minutes to do it so instead of cutting it down they did it at double speed. Originally, Hocus Pocus was just a warmup song they did so everybody could limber up their fingers, vocal cords, and test the pitch on their instruments but due to popular demand they eventually put it on an album.
We need more '70s music reactions.
CCR is one the best classic bands.
A lot of 80's babies 90s kid's know all this songs, we were raised in the 90's, and for those who don't know the 90's was nostalgic for the 70's, we grew up listening to alot of 70's music 🎶
80s had 50s/early 60s revival, 90s had late 60s/70s revival.
I was a teenager during most of the 70's. I grew up with all these songs. Graduated high school in '75
Props to Jair and Lucas for knowing many of the songs and/or artists. Wayward Son is the unofficial anthem of “Supernatural” and many of the songs were covered on “Glee”.
Always Supernatural
70s music is AMAZING! I’m a 90s baby born in the wrong decade
I feel you
5:17 I'm a 2000s bby born in the wrong decade. I like the 90s music and vibe with some from the 70s too
3:35 - Ok, Stevie Wonder might not be “blind” by definition, but he is partially blind, because seeing a bunch of blurry shadows is no better than not seeing anything at all.
That IS blind by definition, you don't have to have zero sight to be legally blind.
Please invite Shea back to react. She is HILARIOUS and so real 🤣
This entire video made me think of Supernatural (which I've been re-watching). Several of the songs are even in my phone.
Right!!!
I was introduced to Fleetwood Mac when I was 15 (1980) and have had a crush on Stevie ever since.
When she said The Smiths, I was like "You shut your mouth".
Should do Motown music from the 70s,80s,90s
1970s music should be required listening✌🙂👍
Jair and Shea would be glad to know that the Doobie Brothers also did "Jesus is Just Alright." Church on a higher plane.
My parents were born in the 50s and spent their college years in the 70s. So this was my playlist growing up ! It brought back amazing memories of my childhood! CCR was one of my mom's first concerts
The first and last time I saw the Doobie Brothers were wholly opposite affairs. The first time, I had a really, really awesome time. Refer to 5:19 (lol) The last time, I was married with a kid so I came home as sober as when I left and I had just as good a time. And the Fabulous Thunderbirds were the opening act so that was an extra special bonus.
Thank you so much for this episode! This was my music and every song is tattooed in my brain and I sang along, word for word. This brought up so many fond, and some slightly foggy, memories. I am a happy camper right about now!
Love Fleetwood Mac, RIP Christine McVie your voice was absolutely legendary!
as a gen z person and i huge fan of queen I'm hurt some didn't know them lol
“What drugs were they on?” Answer: all of them.
I don’t think they’re on drugs, they’re just playing for fun
@@antoniomarin9061no, Jair said this at the end of the video about the musicians. This comment was not about the React cast.
@@antoniomarin9061 LOL
Jason looking like he's 30 seconds away from obliterating Jack was priceless. 😂😂😂 Also "The Smiths?" goes down in history as one of the most gleeful ways to be THAT wrong 😂😂😂
NO Stayn Alive BEE GEES They realy brain farted leaving them out
Lord, I'm 35 and I know ALL these songs and all the singers. But I listen to everything and I dont let music today just ground me down, my love of music has me listening to every genre and every artist, loved it all, and loved my parents for exposing me to it all (:
The kid with Jason should be fired...into the sun.
I love ALL of these songs. Born in 74!
Can't believe that fruitloop didn't know it was Freddy Mercury !!!
70s rocked!!
As John Mulany said about Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors “ the album for and by people cheating on each other”
Sam and Dean Winchester are really bummed about how many people didn't know Kansas....find the Impala...we ride at dawn
jason's reactions of disbelief towards jack cracked me up the whole time lmao
One of my best friends name was Jeramiah, he hated Joy to the World with the amount of times we'd all start singing it when he entered the room. Just hearing it again after so long brings a smile to my face as I remember the rage build in him before he'd explode and start cussing out his parents under his breath as he sat and sulked in a corner till he broke out into laughter himself.
I find this particularly funny because before I was born my mom was considering two names to name me, one of them being Jeremiah (the other being Marshall) before she settled on a completely different third name.
I have never heard anyone say "I've heard this beat" about a Led Zeppelin song lmao i'm old
Absolutely love the kansas song, first time I heard it was on supernatural
I was born in 82 and I know every one of these songs by heart and can sing every lyric. My generation had the radio and it was a fascinating escape!
Im a dyed in the wool boomer that has a massive gen x attitude. Born 64. So being a bit of a split personality, I grew up with EVERY SINGLE, LEAVE NO DOUBT, SONG stuck in my head from the 40s through the 2000's!!!! But the 70s songs HAVE to be the best of the best, for me. Btw, that stevie wonder clip.. was from american bamd stand, I THINK maybe. Or the show that showed america how to dance...SOUUUUUUUUL TRAAAAAIN. 👍💗 And fir God's sake, dont ever forget the best show for music...THE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL with wolfman Jack
Lucas did really well!
More 70s and 80s music please 😊
I'm still trying to figure out how the older people did not know who CCR was.
ccr was more a boomer band
They were actual musicians with real voices (no auto tune in sight). Their was no sampling but there were covers.
Every song on there was both a jam and a VIBE.
I love this kind of Reacts, please do more of the 70's.
I’m a 90s kid and 80s baby. I knew these. Great mashup with the generation.
Same here as well, 80s baby and 90s kid
Lucas growin up too fast, I feel so old!
What was the drug of the 70’s? Yes
You know, of all the people not to know who Freddie Mercury or Elton John is... c'mon, Jack. You're letting down the rest of our tribe.
No joke, Dreams would always play on the radio when my family would go and visit my grandparents.
I LOVE Fleetwood Mac.
My favorite song is Have You Seen The Rain by CCR I have it tattooed on my arm for my dad, he use to listen to it all the time
