Someone had pointed out that Sherlock was ready to give in to death in his head when he as in the pit with Moriarity until Moriarity brings up that John would be left in danger should Sherlock die. Then he fights and claws his way back to consciousness to protect his best friend. Brilliant!

I love the interactions between Mycroft and Sherlock. Mark Gatiss is a writer but he’s such a comedic and charismatic actor too. Anyway, all the cast were great in their roles. Moriaty here was just brilliant too!!

The big one you missed was when Magnussen reveals that his vaults and intel is in a mind palace. Something only Sherlock should have noticed but was too cocky to realize he was out mind palaced.

@@josemiguelberrios3640 Actually, no. There are objective standards a person can use to determine if a show is good or not. However, that doesn't stop people from enjoying an objectively bad show. For example, I still watch the Transformers movies and enjoy them, but I know the later sequels have less character development, less interesting characters, less plot, more plot holes, etc etc, and these questions make the show objectively worse. But I still stand by my statement that Sherlock is an objectively good show. Is it perfect? Not really, there are a lot of issues with Sherlock's inductive reasoning. But you have to suspend a bit of belief if you want to have this over-the-top genius detective solving extremely clever murders. Monk is a bit more realistic when it comes to detective shows, but I don't find Monk as interesting of a character, nor is the show as compelling as Sherlock. Don't worry, Sherlock is an objectively good show. (:

#18 is wrong. He'd already solved it by the time he was talking to Mycroft in the palace and then later Adler in her sitting room. That scene is LITERALLY Irene Adler showing HER intelligence by figuring out what she couldn't before.
Irene didn't help Sherlock solve the mystery of the dead hiker, he had already figured it out way beforehand. Why do you think he told the cops to look in the stream? And Sherlock's story about how he faked his death is not the truth. Moffat deliberately left it open.

I love the sequence of Moriarty breaking into the crown jewels, one of the best episode openings ever! Also, in the Smith's confession scene, Sherlock going "I don't want to die" over and over was so sad

Sherlock will always be one of my favorite shows I understand that some people believe that it became a little far fetched after the 3rd season, but there are some iconic moments in there that I love I also find Sherlock's character development throughout the last season amazing From the beginning of the show he started off as a machine. Someone who could care less for human emotion But as the show progresses you can really see how much of a sentimental person he truly is. To be honest, I believe emotion is one of Sherlock's greatest weaknesses. Furthermore, his relationship with John has really grown a lot. From their first meeting to season 4 you can definitely see how close they've gotten. Do I ship Johnlock? No, I don't. I see them more as uh.. Brothers in a way. A bromance you could say. All in all, I will always love Sherlock. I do wish they would make more seasons though, since they left a few questions unanswered. . Also because I simply need more Sherlock content. (Oh and uh- Can somebody tell that guy who keeps telling people that Sherlock is a terrible show in the reply sections of the comments to leave everyone alone? I didn't say season four is masterpiece ... I despise season four soo much... Because I've been waiting for soo many years.... But that don't mean that I don't love rest of the show ...

They argue that Doctor Who is now more awesome than ever and that makes them all cringe. And on a closely related note: 'Sherlock is Epic' also makes me cringe HARD. I cant believe even after the laughable Season 4 that woke so many people up, people still genuinly have the Delusion that Sherlock, including all Seasons, was Epic. Holy Delusion in Heaven! Wow! I strongly recommend people to watch the Sherlock-Docu of 'Hbomberguy', a really good KZheadr. His Video is based on objective facts and he provides logic and/or sources.
This list just shows how brilliant the first two seasons were with 17/20 moments being from those two seasons
To be fair Irene's way of giving him her codes are insane. And then the fact that she locked her phone with his name outsmarting him for as long as she needed. Irene also out smarted Sherlock with having him unlock the code to find the airplane.
"I am Sher Locked" made me gasp & laugh out loud, then slap my forehead because I hadn't figured it out.
You know the show has some amazing moments when breaking into steal the crown jewels only makes no. 13.
I love that you guys went all out to put together the genius moments while leaving some out. I loved this show do to how it modernized Sherlock's characters and the universe Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created. Sherlock is a genius and a junky (didn't get into the grand extent until later seasons of how bad his addiction was like in the books), Watson is a capable detective himself and not a blundering idiot, Lestrade is Lestrade, and Moriarty was a nice surprise when he was revealed. I was sad when this show was canceled but it lives on in my heart and on KZhead. 9/10 show, highly recommend it.
Yes, it's good to see that Watson is competent. Intelligent, skilled, and willing to act decisively but knowing when to be patient. Able to transfer military experience to semi-civilian life.
i have quite literally got the entire first episode (SIP) and final episode (TFP)memorized. the rest pretty well remembered. ive seen this show more times than i'd care to admit, and every time i watch it there's still something new
I was ill for a few days and my friends kept telling me to watch sherlock. I ended up binge watching the whole 5 seasons over a few days and if there's nothing I want to watch I will start from scratch and watch it all again. Benedict is amazing as sherlock.

there are so many great recommendations that this channel can do- great british tv shows 80s-70s-90s, underrated british tv shows from every decade. There are many outside britain who do not know many great british movies and tv shows aside from the ones that netflix shows and modern ones.

Youre meant to say Wow; and because youre the Target-Audience (=gullable), you do it. You find this dumb show amazingly smart. Youve been successfully manipulated. Success achieved. Success done.

I only recently discovered that the novel "The Sign Of Four" was named after a shop (which I used to frequent as a boy) in Nottingham which sold magic tricks and all sorts of theatre kit amongst other interesting oddments. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a friend of the owner and visited the shop regularly.
Just love sherlock and I need to rewatch it soon.

Toby Jones is an amazing actor. From Doctor Who to Marvel to Sherlock, he’s such a great actor to play villains, but in other projects, he plays great heroes
One that deserved to be in the top 3, when Sherlock maps out an entire plan, weeks in advance, to catch Culverton. From knowing who John would pick to be his therapist, *purposely* getting trashed on drugs, to leaving the mic in the cane knowing John would leave it behind.

Anyway, the books and this show are very close in the resolution, but obviously, the Sherlock from the 1880s didn't have a cellphone. This is how the shows defer, but the taxi driver is the criminal in both stories.

She's also seemingly the only one who could get him to apologize to someone else. (I'm sorry, I don't quite remember the episode-it's when she was filling in for John as sherlock's assistant.) I love Molly.

The scandal in Belgravia would have been the best episode if they didn't let Sherlock outsmarted her or saved her. She should have been just left as a mysterious character. They made the character weak, making her look like a Moriarty puppet who needed Sherlock to survive. The Reichenbach fall is the best episode, can't get over how great the Moriarty character was.
Most of why sherlock Holmes is ridiculously good isn't knowledge, but observation. People will know that if the shoulders of someone's t-shirt was wet that they weren't wearing a coat, but they will never really observe this as they don't always look. This is what makes him great. Of course, there are moments where knowledge does help him, like finding out what part of the Thames someone died at or what the weather is like in Kent today, but I would care to argue that just looking is the source of sherlock Holmes' intelligence. We all could be like him, but we just don't care to look.

Sherlock is the Antagonist in this series who tries to stop him but only shows up in the second half. Moriarty is known as Willam Moriarty.
