I discovered this concert on KZhead when in a hospital bed struggling with severe covid and the docs said I might not make it. Headphones on full blast watching this on my iPad 1000% gave me exactly the joy I needed to pull through. Overwhelms me watching it back. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Your a Champion 🎉
Hope you are doing well now Daragh! I am 8 months in to GBS and it's shit. Had to fight to sit up fight to sit on the edge of the bed. I can stand but not every day. My partner is brilliant I am very lucky but very angry I get no help from any NHS services
Love this
Love it!!! Nothing like music to bring Your Spirit Alive... Awesome Work!!! Well Done and LOVE YOU SHARING IT!!
I'm 61, soon be 62, but I'll never forget those years of dancing with my closest friends and lover/lovers of that time to everyone of these tracks in some of the best gay clubs up & down the UK I'll never NO NEVER forget those years, even if I do end up senile in a nursing home somewhere. I will put my headphones on & thank the Lords of music for being there when they'll be needed most and I will be right back to all those clubs & yes the straight ones I went to as well where all anyone was interested in was the music. No one cared if we were gay or straight, black or white, we all danced as one, humans together under the rainbow of love that is music, not fighting, not hating, but all of us together loving each other because of music and dance. JUST AS IT SHOULD BE. !!! Thanks Pete for putting this amazing event together, I was there in spirit. Cheers CliveakaSpyda Sherwood Forest UK
Amen bro same age as me and yeah the 90,s were on fire for sure xx
Remember Famous Five?
@@kiki2508 yes very well at Bagleys Wharehouse my BF did the door there , its a waitrose now
Yes I went to the opening of Pasha and Space and Amnesia when they had dance floors outside and doing Pink New Yorkers and Rhubarb and Custards
Yes Sir!!! I grew up on London gay scene , in 2000s. Take club music was mind blowing
This music is my depression cure. I crank it up and all the crap of the last 25 years floats away. It's 1998 again, I'm getting geared up to go out with The Annual on the CD player, back in a rammed, sticky-carpeted club with my mates or winding down on a Sunday night with Dave Pearce on R1. The period 1995-2002 or so was the absolute zenith of club music in this country and it saddens me that my 12yo will never experience spilling out onto the street at 3am with the sun coming up and just bouncing, feeling absolutely on top of the world. I've discovered and enjoyed a lot of musical genres over the years, but this stuff will always be my first love, my coming of age music from some of the best times of my life.
Spot on 🫵🏻
I never could write and think this better ❤

And to think it all started with illegal parties in empty "pioneer" factory warehouses in slough as well as before in september 1989, police trying to shut it down. My house is your house and your house is mine!
I am speechless. Full of happy tears. Really miss the days of clubbing when these classics were released! Best part about it ? No phones. Just enjoying the moment

I’ts now December 2022, I’m 56 , Male and now and this takes me back to my clubbing days. That was a fantastic time of my life, and to see and hear the Music being played live with the Orchestra with live singers is out of this world . PETE TONG you’re a Club God in my eyes for putting this together. RESPECT ✊ 🙂
All those old masters are getting old, and by god we will miss them when they retire

im a retired dj 65 years old i was ther at the begining of dance etc music played it all the way through the changes and years, and i was lucky enough to play all the big and small clubs too. this version of dance is wonderful
The more I listen the more I can’t help thinking just how much work will have gone into this. Most of these tracks were made on computers or in studios with various instruments, never thinking one day an entire full live band would be playing the arrangements.

An absolute never. It never dies. EVER.
Pete Tong made my days sweet, back in 2007-2013. His sets on radio one bbc are just legendary

I don't usually use this phrase but... Those musicians are literally living their best lives. They are absolutely buzzing
Agree. Don't forget we are living ours because we are alive to be blessed to hear this. Amazing

48 years old and dancing to this like a loon to this music all through the '90s. I don't think there was a better decade for music in my opinion. Although the '80s come a very close second.
I cant tell you how much this music has meant to me for at least 30 years.I am 51 now with a f*cked up knee. Thank God I have done so many fun things over the years. I shed a tear and salut you.
@@rogsoll You and me both... I will be listening to this over Christmas. I hope you have a good one and despite your dodgy knee find a bit of time to quote myself "Dance like a Loon"
30/11/2023 I'm 52 yrs old and all I've got to say is WOW
You young ones will never know what it was like when this music was playing in the club's and it was fresh
Jump on my bus, I'll take you back to the 90's rave scene for a night
its fresh right now for me lol
I don’t think those who look at this all realize how much work it has been. Respect
Unbelievable amount of work has gone into getting this to sound as good as it does, Hacienda, Tomorrowland have all done there version and even though they sound good, they don't compare to this
All of a sudden those musicians are released from the chains of the classic music. See the happiness in their eyes and movements! :))
I just came across this tonight in October 2023. I’ve had my AirPods cranked and it feels like Y2k all over again. This is bloody fantastic!
How am I only seeing this now? This would've been epic AF!!!!!!! It's no wonder I can't relate to music these days, I grew up listening to this!!!!! 2 Tribes, Gods Kitchen baby let's goooooooooo!!!
Empting the last drop from my box of wine while dancing alone and wearing headphones in the garage at 1 a.m. looking a fool to passers-by. How times have changed. :( Oh well. At least I can afford great headphones now.
You want to hang out?

Omg I could cry listening to those opening bars. I can feel the rush from my clubbing days 20 years ago. If you know, you know ❤ Much love brothers and sisters ❤
When I heard this for the first time....TEARS!! Ok, I have listened to this many times since...more TEARS!! It takes me back!!
Feeling it ♥️
I did tear up..
I did cry...., nostalgia hit me hard!
Waterworks for me
What an absolutely epic masterpiece this is. I’m 46 years old now, all these classics were the soundtrack to my life and still are!!! So many happy memories come flooding back, it made me so tearful and emotional but in a good way. This demonstrates just how powerful music is and music is what unites us and hearing the dance classics played by a full orchestra and seeing everybody so happy together just fills me with joy. The vocalists were all fabulous, especially the current queen of dance music Becky Hill, it’s thanks to her that I discovered these gigs with the Heritage orchestra. Every song is performed beautifully and I defy anyone that doesn’t enjoy this. Pete Tong and Jules Buckley are absolute legends for putting this together, I just can’t say a bad word about it. I’m crying tears of joy, these tunes helped define who I am today. I can’t wait for this years show in Manchester!!!
I recorded on tape Pete Tongs best of the 90's in 1995 from BBC radio. I would never have thought i can still listen to it now.
yeah i use to tape its all gone a bit bit Pete Tong on radio 1 in the early 00'👍👍😁😁
Imagine playing for the orchestra, and your entire career up until this point has been spent playing magnificently in front of a seated, quiet, muted audience, and suddenly you get to play a gig like this and you finally feel the energy of a REAL crowd in front of you absolutely loving your music with every piece of their soul... This would be as unforgettable for the musicians as it was for the crowd....
Can not agree more on this. I love classic music, as well as techno, so I can imagine what u r saying
Yep.
One of the reasons I enjoy watching these so much is to see the grins/ joy on their faces. It's just great.
@@mrpikebishop3725 Thing is, this kind of music is probably not their thing, as they would have grown up with mostly classical music and it's derivatives, however, much of these tracks aren't just stock standard dance music, they are classics, many of which actually have music theory design derived from centuries-old music styles...
It's an amazing feeling!!
The backup singers two stepping like their lives depended on it throughout the performance makes me happy. Also that drummer...110 minutes of this...his fucking quads.
I’m 54 now, Benidorm and Ibiza 1988, NY and DC 1998… oh the memories… OMG this makes my hair stand up on end! What an amazing era to have been a part of ❤
I would pay a million dollars to see this live, that is how much I love it. You would not be able to sleep for days after this experience. The energy is amazing. Music is one of the greatest gifts humanity could have. This is fucking mint!

The thing that makes this even better - is that the orchestra look like they are having such a blast, something totally different from what they normally do.
That’s why musicians have more re brains than MPS we are mesmerised with their creativity and hope it continues.
I will never look at an orchestra the same again. This was pure genius
It just works so well doesnt it? I'm not a fan of classic music at all, but this is genius.
@@chrismadge7292 its sooo good! These musicians are out if this world, so much creativity in one setting!

It's called nostalgia, I feel exactly the same ❤️😢
Cause you're alive
The days of our lives... Music for the Jilted Generation One love
Because you have a soul. Be well and happy.
I’ve worked in clubs and bars all my life and insomnia still gives me chills when I hear it. I’m 44 now and must’ve heard it 1000 times. It’s the ULTIMATE club tune It MUST be played it on 11 and in a massive space with 2000 or more people. Sounds even better with an orchestra.
Same 😎

Sorry też i kwnow that's that
The most impressive thing is that almost no one has a smartphone filming, they are just enjoying the moment with their arms in the air and dancing.
I swear music is the universal language we all speak that brings peace and harmony. Only in music do we find we set aside our differences to just enjoy the beats and melodies that unite us
I don't know why, but Lola's Theme always takes me way way back.
Got married to Lola's theme walking down the aisle!

Beginning of 2021.....we need THIS kind of Music to make us feel better...to keep the spirits up...to survive!
We need more than that to survive, we need the sleeping masses to wake up from their zombie mind control and stand up for their freedoms before society is transformed into a biometric technocracy that makes 1984 look like a children's book.
Listening to this in South Australia New Year's Day 2023 and what a cracking way to start the year 🫶
This might sound silly, but I have never heard of an orchestra doing this sort of thing before with club music.....genius

I love when the arena 'explodes' when Insomnia comes! It's pure ecstasy!
Incredible performance! I fully believe that orchestral house/edm renditions are the part of the future of live music and will be something big all over the world very soon! I hope I get to rave at an orchestra concert before I die 😂
So there I was, lying by the pool at home, massive speakers blasting. Lying on my back, dancing and grinning like a clown, memories of Sunday recovery sessions. I am 50 now, I will never stop liking this music, NEVER!! How good is this, wish I could go to one of these soon!!!!!
You know you're getting old when the songs of your youth get the orchestra treatment. Makes it not so bad. Pretty cool too that electronic music can be interpreted through "real" instruments to quiet the naysayers.
I would love to have been there .look at the quality of the tracks they translate brilliantly with orchestra . Still a set list full of absolute bangers 😁😁

Went to the Nottingham Gig of this 2018, it was absolutely brill!!!! was buzzing for days. Most people at this gig was over 40, just cos your older doesn't mean you cant jump up and rave. @@trutacgear No, we fucked ourselves by not paying attention to the reality of what has been done to the planet. Nature is kicking back and who can blame it? Survival of the fittest is the truth of our evolution. And right now the human race is not fit for purpose. Only we can change that and the only way to do that is by not blaming some FB fuelled misinformation but look to ourselves and how we live our lives.

Fatboy Slim? They don't make tunes like that anymore? There are plenty techno-pop bands still making that junk, including Fatboy Slim
It was 2015 insane, but this is still unbelievable..... THX Pete Tong & the Heritage Orchestra!! you make me smile, in the time of self isolation!!!! GREAT tracks - BETTER work!! #tearsinmyeyes
Michael Wieser - Yep May 4th 2020 here. Loving it!
I never expected to hear these classics being played by an orchestra! (goosebumps on arms)

Having lived through the golden years of trance & eurodance , I never thought I'd hear it like this, This is amazing! Three Drives & Touch Me, show me love! Wow!
Chris Wilson - I’m right there with you man!!!
So jealous. I was born in 88, so I was too young to really experience trance and madchester/britpop on all their glory. My taste in music is easily 10 years older than I am.
Fuck it! I am only 34, never too old! Time to dust the old decks off. IBIZA SUMMER 22 HERE I COME!
This is amaaaazzzziiinnngggg! Please do this again post-COVID! I’ll fly in and don’t care about cost. This is music for my soul…
I hope it will be celebrated again!

I just fall over this. I love it - I got goose bumps. For me everything here is extra class - every musician - every singer - simply everyone who contributed to it. I think you can tell that this has not been processed, you can feel that all did that with passion to create something lovable. A gift for eternity.
Exactly extra extra class

❤
