King Olly Battle Medley (Paper Mario: The Origami King) - GaMetal Remix
For the 2022 GaMetal Premiere, we're taking on several tracks that comprise most of the entire showdown with King Olly from Paper Mario: The Origami King!

Most of the Origami King requests from the 2021 ballot were for Battle with King Olly and The Final Battle, but I felt it'd be best to combine them all into a medley to represent the entire final showdown. The Origami King soundtrack is already phenomenal, so I felt this would be the coolest way to tackle these songs.
I had originally planned to get this one out last month, but decided to move it into the 2022 premiere slot. I'm glad I did, because it took me a lot longer to finish than I first anticipated!
Also, I hope you like the new video set up! That's another thing that took me some extra time to figure out, but after much trial and error, I believe I have the hang of it now. :)

Good work with the background! I liked seeing your gaming shelf and everything before, but going with a theme like this in each song will make each piece feel like a fan love letter. I'm blown away that you would put in extra work for the background in addition to how much you pour into the music!
"I've had enough of you and your bad haircut" I've said it before and I'll say it again, we NEED Bowser to be a playable character/ally in more games.
Well that's the direction Nintendo seems to be going especially since Bowser Jr is also more of an anti hero nowadays.

@@LostSoulSilver Nah. The story for Origami King was pretty bad/generic too. I finally bought a Paper Mario game after skipping everything after Super Paper Mario, ignoring all the warning signs, and had to force myself to finish it. Extra bit: I just finished Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling a couple days ago. Go play *that* and try to tell me Origami King wasn't utter garbage.
@@LostSoulSilver Maybe reevaluate the language? Same ≠ Greater or Lesser value. I hated Sticker Star with a burning passion. Skipped Color Splash because it followed too closely judging by the trailers. I only played The Origami King in December of 2021. It blew me away way more than I would've expected. Thing is I love the story of Super Paper Mario more for its ambition as a Nintendo story, let alone Mario story. SPM influenced western TV series like Steven Universe's main story, especially the big twist and how villains and relationships can get real tricky when the line is blurred. (Tippi is proto-Steven) Thing is, The Origami King had a different style of engagement with emotional stakes. The tone is very different from the 1st three Paper Mario games, but nonetheless impressed me. I do wish we got more characters with arcs besides Olivia, Bobby, and perhaps that Toad Archeologist, I don't feel they needed to change the battle system though since unlike Sticker Star confetti is needed to progress but isn't like Stickers because it isn't a battle resource at all. The three resources you get are badges for attacks, bought by coins, confetti for progress, coins and ocmpletion, and coins themselves for time adding and hints. Not to mention I enjoyed the simplicity of Origami King's combat, unlike Sticker Star where its problem wasn't being too simple but rather being too reliant on resource management.
This is gonna be a bit of a h0t take,but I actually think Color Splash and Origami King are AMAZING games Disclaimer:with that,I do NOT mean that the others suck These last 2 games are fun,original and unique on their own,mostly because they play with the "Paper World"Concept and their artstyle,which is gorgeous BTW,and the use of the Outlines makes everything pop out so damn well While Sticker Star definetely RUINED the series' reputation,Color Splash and Origami King SAVED it and if they continue to develop the next instalments the same they did with these 2,I'll be happy. Sure,having more original characters would be a neat touch,but with their gameplay I'm fine. The last 2 games brought some things to the table that not even TTYD has been able to bring,and despite all the hate they are still solid and charming games that deserve all the praise I'm giving them right now. I also hope they Port Color Splash to Switch...... yes I said that
"At least the music is good." is the kiss of death of any videogame franchise. The moment you're scraping for compliments is the time where you have to reevaluate if the property is deserving of even existing if the only good thing abput it is the pretty lights and the pretty sounds.
You know they put passion into a theme when the hire Bowser and Princess Zelda to do the singing
I love how he used a toon Zelda puppet to do the female choirs. It reminded me of the Final Battle from Spirit Tracks when she and Link must perform a sacred Duet to reveal Malladus’s weak point. She have a beautiful voice in this game.
@@samyb4566 hello! To be honest, the final battle in Spirit Tracks was pretty difficult for me to get through, but at least Zelda was there to help me out!
Literally yesterday I was listening to Olly's theme and was like "if Gametal would cover this it would be sick"!
I was also listening to some of these themes days ago, and I was excited for the cover, I knew this medley was coming because patreons are allowed to know about upcoming remixes.
And then he slides in with the whole arena setup. Fantastic.
This is so good. Love the puppets incorporated a cute charm, but still best themes to date.

Technically even the music styles changed 64,TTYD and SPM went for more funky,Digital and synthetized tracks,Sticker Star and Color Splash went for Jazz/Big Band Themes and Origami King..... Origami King has it all It's definetely my favorite OST in the entire Mario series,so damn good The variety of genres and music styles in this game is amazing,I hope they keep going in this direction with the Mario series. God I love how dynamic this soundtrack is, jumping between different styles for each phase of the fight, and only getting crazier towards the finale.

@@markvo250 This is also my favourite 2D Zelda. This is such a shame that people are judging it only because of the Spirit Flute. Not only it corrected the problems from Phantom Hourglass, but it also have amazing qualities that makes it unique.

It's a shame the quality of the instrumentation in Bug Fables' music is low. Doesn't do the songs proper justice.
