Ah yes, these guys inflicted a bit of trauma on kids, but they still did everything right. They were the perfect horror games and really knew how to make someone stress out. They will never be forgotten. Props to the people who worked hard to create these games, we all enjoyed them, no doubt.

I love all of the details here, it makes it so much more nostalgic seeing modernized details and changes. Freddy is now Glamrock Freddy, Bendy has a Dark Revival outfit, Sonic.exe is holding a mic… And the list goes on. Realistically the ones that survived are still being supported by developers to this day, its just quite sad to see a couple of mascots who didn’t survive like Tattletail.

Man, I had been there when some of these games first came out, and when Creepypasta and FNAF were the first fandoms I joined. 2014-2018 were the greatest years of these fandoms for me. It's sad to see nearly all of them fade away, their fandoms a far cry from what they used to be in their glory days. Atleast FNAF is still going strong.

BATM actually gives me so much nostalgia I remember being a kid and watching fgteev play it.. and like the gameplay so GOOD! The music mwah! My favorite character was always Sammy Lawrence and I got so excited when he can back in chapter 5 but became depressed after the game ended became happy after the second one came out but it was so quick.. the game barley had any fun to it I just am so depressed that the series ended I wish it came out with more chapters for the original it made me so happy…

We used to be terrified of them. When we got older we loved them. And as time went on, we forgot about them. Some had a spectacular revival, others... not so much. Once we get older we may forget they even existed. Until we are reminded of the nostalgia, we will get flashbacks to all the old but gold creepypastas. Indie horror games shaped the future of video gaming history, we must never forget that.

I remember the time I used to watch the first horror games (Slender, Amnesia) with my brothers and friends, even watching and reacting at early videos of Pewdiepie and Markplier, who played those games back then. Now, neither of my family or my friends have recollection of the time we shared back then, including watching horror games. Times have changed. Little to nothing remains from the experience we had in our jumpscares through these videos, except a fragment of nostalgia remaining in the back of our heads.

2012-2017 was the peak of indie horror let's play. I will never forget the times where I would stay late at nights to watch pewdiepie, markplier, jackseptieye and other youtuber's horror let's play and I also would read creepypasta stories on their wiki during free time. Gonna miss those times where pixelated horror is also pretty popular too

At first when I was little, I was scared by these guys. But now that I’m 15, these guys are funny to watch. For example, Hello Neighbor was a good game, especially the hilarious jump scares. Baldy’s Basics was fun to watch, especially the videos with mods. I only watched Slanderman once, I hope he comes back.

crazy as it sounds, i actually met the creator of Baldi’s Basics. His name was Micah and he was a super cool dude. Apparently my Physical Science teacher had known him since childhood, and brought him in to present on game creation one day. That was probably my favorite part of Freshman year.

Well now with Scott AND MatPat both retired, FNAF will never be the same again...and that's alright. Lived to late for stuff like Napoleon and the Crusades, and I lived to early to see humanity go to colonize the galaxy...but I lived just at the right time to see Mat and Scott work with and against each other for FNAF.

One of the reasons Creepypasta declined in popularity isn't just the overuse of the same stories like lost episodes, haunted gaming and some twink with a knife. The fandom's biggest sin are the fangirls (And boys if there were any) that tried to romanticize most of the monsters. All the 'husbando' art of characters like Jeff, Slendy, Ben, etc. took almost all the horror out and then came the shipping. Usually, I'm fine with shipping in fandoms but only when it's in a franchise that usually does encourage shipping. Something like creepypasta which is supposed to be horror only gets ruined with these.

As someone who is apart of the FNAF fandom and has seen all of these horror games I definitely miss the old times. FNAF seems to be the last one standing in the end and all the others just died off just like that.

Ah yes, these guys inflicted a bit of trauma on kids, but they still did everything right. They were the perfect horror games and really knew how to make someone stress out. They will never be forgotten. Props to the people who worked hard to create these games, we all enjoyed them, no doubt.
The only one that I say really worked was FNAF, and possibly the first 2 chapters of Bendy. I liked hello neighbor for a time, but it really did everything wrong when it came to game development.

I love all of the details here, it makes it so much more nostalgic seeing modernized details and changes. Freddy is now Glamrock Freddy, Bendy has a Dark Revival outfit, Sonic.exe is holding a mic… And the list goes on. Realistically the ones that survived are still being supported by developers to this day, its just quite sad to see a couple of mascots who didn’t survive like Tattletail.

Man, I had been there when some of these games first came out, and when Creepypasta and FNAF were the first fandoms I joined. 2014-2018 were the greatest years of these fandoms for me. It's sad to see nearly all of them fade away, their fandoms a far cry from what they used to be in their glory days. Atleast FNAF is still going strong.

I’m just happy that the creators didn’t make anything stupid and preserved and made it better. That’s what makes me happy because they didn’t just come up with a terrible sequel just to make money. I’m happy about that.
BATM actually gives me so much nostalgia I remember being a kid and watching fgteev play it.. and like the gameplay so GOOD! The music mwah! My favorite character was always Sammy Lawrence and I got so excited when he can back in chapter 5 but became depressed after the game ended became happy after the second one came out but it was so quick.. the game barley had any fun to it I just am so depressed that the series ended I wish it came out with more chapters for the original it made me so happy…

We used to be terrified of them. When we got older we loved them. And as time went on, we forgot about them. Some had a spectacular revival, others... not so much. Once we get older we may forget they even existed. Until we are reminded of the nostalgia, we will get flashbacks to all the old but gold creepypastas. Indie horror games shaped the future of video gaming history, we must never forget that.

I remember the time I used to watch the first horror games (Slender, Amnesia) with my brothers and friends, even watching and reacting at early videos of Pewdiepie and Markplier, who played those games back then. Now, neither of my family or my friends have recollection of the time we shared back then, including watching horror games. Times have changed. Little to nothing remains from the experience we had in our jumpscares through these videos, except a fragment of nostalgia remaining in the back of our heads.
I couldn’t put it better myself. These games are why I couldn’t leave my room at night, now I have a few of those games myself. I believe these games could teach future generations of indie games, and who knows, Monika and Huggy might join these classics at the table

I love the attention to detail, like how some of them are still gone even in modernity, examples being TattleTail and Slenderman. ironically, the only fandom I completely stayed with was the only one that didn't die, Five Nights at Freddys

2012-2017 was the peak of indie horror let's play. I will never forget the times where I would stay late at nights to watch pewdiepie, markplier, jackseptieye and other youtuber's horror let's play and I also would read creepypasta stories on their wiki during free time. Gonna miss those times where pixelated horror is also pretty popular too
It's interesting how things that used to scare us as kids can make us feel nostalgic as adults
At first when I was little, I was scared by these guys. But now that I’m 15, these guys are funny to watch. For example, Hello Neighbor was a good game, especially the hilarious jump scares. Baldy’s Basics was fun to watch, especially the videos with mods. I only watched Slanderman once, I hope he comes back.

As a kid, i got scared by these guys, but after growing up with them, they seem more than just creepy things. They grew up with me as well.

crazy as it sounds, i actually met the creator of Baldi’s Basics. His name was Micah and he was a super cool dude. Apparently my Physical Science teacher had known him since childhood, and brought him in to present on game creation one day. That was probably my favorite part of Freshman year.

You can call me exaggerated but those characters mean a lot to me, they accompanied me for a large part of my life, truly infinite thanks to all the creators of those games and Creepypastas were scary but they will always have a place in my memory, thank you for make me so happy!! ♥️♥️
It makes me thankful for the time I was born and the experience I have been through. Many kids won’t be able to go through these experiences of watching indie games and creepy pastas while growing up 😢😢.

I’ve seen them rise, fall, and come back to life. This is one of the most relatable and oddly wholesome edits I’ve seen in a while…. Just wish that the starting date was 2011-2014. It amazes me how far most of these titles have gone. Too all who are reading this… have a Great Day.

I think we can all agree these fandoms have a special place in our hearts, they deserve as much love as every other game out there if not more. These were the peaks of our childhoods and delivered the stress, screams, and laughs we needed at the time.

2 of these were originally creepy pastas, the other five were indie games that had maybe one or two extremely bad creepy pastas made about them.
Fnaf is a good one it has a lot of things in them not intended for children even though it was indie

Well now with Scott AND MatPat both retired, FNAF will never be the same again...and that's alright. Lived to late for stuff like Napoleon and the Crusades, and I lived to early to see humanity go to colonize the galaxy...but I lived just at the right time to see Mat and Scott work with and against each other for FNAF.
One of the reasons Creepypasta declined in popularity isn't just the overuse of the same stories like lost episodes, haunted gaming and some twink with a knife. The fandom's biggest sin are the fangirls (And boys if there were any) that tried to romanticize most of the monsters. All the 'husbando' art of characters like Jeff, Slendy, Ben, etc. took almost all the horror out and then came the shipping. Usually, I'm fine with shipping in fandoms but only when it's in a franchise that usually does encourage shipping. Something like creepypasta which is supposed to be horror only gets ruined with these.

That, and probably another reason was the fact that they made the monsters as comedic dweebs in most KZhead videos, taking the horror aspect from them. Now you can longer fear them, since there are already videos of them being laughable gimmicks at best.

As someone who is apart of the FNAF fandom and has seen all of these horror games I definitely miss the old times. FNAF seems to be the last one standing in the end and all the others just died off just like that.
